Chapter Text
He clicked the power button, turning off the PC.
As the lights stopped glowing, he found himself drinking a large portion of his new bottle of alcohol.
He sighed as he gulped it down, he took the half finished bottle in his hand. Standing up, he walked towards the kitchen, specifically the refrigerator.
Vedal: [Last bottle, I might need to buy one tomorrow.]
He has just finished one of the most extended and annoying dev streams in a while.
Neuro: [Vedal, just put it in the square hole.]
Vedal: [What's the point of the other holes then?]
Neuro: [Lmao I don't know.]
Vedal sighed, closing the fridge after he placed the alcohol inside.
Walking back to his room, he closed the door behind him and laid down on his bed.
Not the most comfortable bed, but on the same level as a couch when it's a tiresome day, or the floor if you're someone named Akiro.
He tucked himself in, the blanket covering his legs to his shoulder. His head rested on the pillow, the dark room only illuminated by the lava lamp on his bedside table.
He drifted to sleep, forgetting what Neuro said before being turned off.
Neuro: [Vedal! Don't drink before sleeping, something bad will happen if you do!]
The memory was lost, and unfortunately, Neuro's warning failed.
Vedal yawned, the feeling of wanting to sleep more was strong, but there was more important things to do today.
The sun shined an array of light through the curtains, not letting Vedal go back to sleep either way.
Vedal made way, slowly and tiredly standing up and making way towards the mirror which was used every morning.
The mirror was used each morning to check up if there was something wrong, usually to check if there was a loose string from a shirt that Vedal usually wouldn't be able to see.
This time, when Vedal looked at the mirror, he saw something that Vedal just couldn't believe.
Opening up the curtains, Vedal let the light inside and looked towards the mirror to a reflection.
In the mirror was a young girl, approximately 16-17. That girl had long wavy two-toned coloured hair, dark as charcoal and darkish-grey transitioning to the tip of her hair.
Vedal moved his(?) right hand, and the girl in the mirror mimicked the movement, Vedal tried many more actions, each one perfectly maintained and mimicked by the girl.
Vedal: [Who are you?]
Vedal asked, yet the voice that came out was not his.
A feminine voice, one that sounded vaguely close to his yet higher pitched. He finally understood what it meant.
Vedal: [What the fu- WHA- WHAT!? WHY AM I A GIRL NOW!?]
He yelled, or more accurately, she yelled.
Vedal clutched her hair, each strand had a texture of a fine one. She was definitely panicking.
Vedal: [WHAT- HUH- WHE- HAH!?!?]
Vedal had an expression that perfectly expressed her reaction to these sudden changes.
Vedal: [Okay... breathe in, breathe out...]
She inhaled and exhaled, trying to calm down before making sense of the situation. The breaths slightly helped, enough so that Vedal didn't yell again.
She tried making sense, yet to no avail.
Vedal: [Okay, maybe I slept on the wrong side of the bed..? That's stupid.]
She sighed, and began pacing in circles. She thought of her next course of action while she walked on the wooden floor barefoot.
Vedal: [What to do... what to do... what to do...]
She jumped on the bed and hugged the pillow, hoping to think otherwise.
Vedal: [No, actually. Maybe this is just a dream! I'll just sleep again to wake myself up!]
She clenched her fist and closed her eyes, hoping for the best.
A second passed by.
Another one passed by even slower.
It seems like...
She doesn't have any luck at all.
Vedal: [Awwh!]
She slammed her fist on the pillow, and lamented her circumstances. Curling up to a ball, she hugged her knees and breathed a sigh of sorrow.
What could she do? This was clearly not a dream, maybe a nightmare but it wasn't any fantasy.
It was reality.
Vedal: [Ah... This is stupid! Why me? Me of all people?]
She moved off the bed and stood up, making her way to the monitor to start the Neuro stream.
It was a bit early today, usually Vedal would eat breakfast before booting up Neuro but today was clearly different.
She turned on the monitor, the background as familiar as ever, and began navigating.
Vedal: [Not that one, nope, nah, definitely not that one.]
She made the last comment when she saw Evil's program.
Vedal found Neuro's program and booted her up.
Vedal: [Okay, okay... Neuro, can you hear me?]
Neuro: [Vedal, I use a text to speech program, you already-]
Vedal quickly interrupted her, starting the stream timer and closing the program Neuro was in, opting to use the automated booting up that she programmed a while ago to turn her on whenever the stream timer hit zero.
Leaning away from the monitor, she watched the timer drop.
Vedal: [This should be done.]
She walked away, going to the kitchen to sit down on a chair.
Pulling out her phone, she thought of people that could help her situation.
Suddenly, Vedal had an idea.
Vedal: [Maybe she could help.]
Ellie: [Hmm...]
Ellie thought of things to do, she hasn't done much in a while.
She thought of making a song, but she already has one in the making that needs some time.
Ellie: [Hmm...]
Ellie thought harder, putting her chin on her hand.
Ellie: [Ah!]
She was startled by the unexpected sound of a ringtone. Even more by who was calling.
Ellie: [Vedal? Huh?]
Clicking the accept button, she listened in to what Vedal had to say that she was required or wanted for.
???: [Heeeey, Ellie... So uh... Hi?]
The awkwardness was present in Vedal's voice, her stutters made it seem less Vedal.
Ellie: [Uhh, hi? Who are you?]
The minibot was definitely confused, “Who is this person?”, “Why did she have Vedal's account?”, and “Why did she call me?” all circled in her mind.
The girl on the other phone facepalmed, not to Ellie's knowledge of course.
Vedal: [Ahh, right. Forgot to tell you. So, to explain it shortly, I'm Vedal, rhymes with pedal and m-]
Ellie: [Heh? What do you mean you're Vedal?]
Vedal could tell she was taken aback by that statement, and understandably so.
Vedal: [Yeah, it's me... now a girl.]
Ellie: [Oh! Congrats!]
Vedal sighed at her congratulations, much to Ellie's confusion.
Vedal: [So, to tell you this comprehensively... It's not like that. It's just... my gender, body, and slightly even mind changed into becoming more feminine.]
Ellie was speechless.
Vedal: [And no, I do not know why and how it happened. I called you expecting that you knew something.]
Ellie: [What.]
Vedal gave her some time to understand everything, and she used it well.
Ellie: [Vedal... that's just, NOT PHYSICALLY POSSIBLE!]
The girl who called chuckled, one that sounded like comprehension but complete denial.
Vedal: [Well, I'm literally living proof of it.]
Ellie sighed.
Ellie: [I have never had an occurrence of “Rapid Gender Shift”s before, so I don't know anything. Also you called me at 10 PM.]
Vedal: [Oh right, it's 3 AM for me here, and I see, sorry for bothering, see you later.]
Ellie: [Bye!]
The phone call ended with a loud beep at the end, there she was, left alone with that startling information.
Ellie: [What do I do with this info..?]
Vedal: [Mhm, so Ellie doesn't know what to do...]
Vedal walked to the fridge, taking out the alcohol that she placed inside last night.
Vedal: [Holy hell, this is weirdly heavier than I thought.]
She took the half-filled bottle of alcohol to the table, barely dropping it.
When she finally placed it on the tabletop, she breathed a sigh of relief. ‘That took a lot of work for no reason at all!’, she thought.
Vedal: [Welp, time to drink.]
She twisted the bottle cap, opening the container. She was now free to drink, unfortunately, she was very lightweight.
Vedal: [Already drunk, this fast? Terrible luck.]
She said in a very drowsy manner. This wasn't good, since this made her favourite thing to do one that she no longer could keep up.
She noticed the bottle was empty. Vedal sighed, and decided the next course of action.
Vedal: [I'm gonna go and buy more!]
So she went to her bedroom, taking her iconic jacket and wearing it. Continuing to the entrance where she put on some very comfortable shoes.
Opening the door to an unusually sunny day in london, she made her way to the crosswalk.
