Destiel and their adopted daughter

Summary:

Eva leaves her mom and her old life to follow a mysterious pull in her chest, only to find a new home and a place where shes actually happy

Notes:

This fic is kinda based off a dream I had but not really at the same time. In my dream Castiel and Dean are my dads and we’re boarding a plane for some reason, I have the aisle seat, Cas is in the middle and Dean has the window seat. Idk why we gave the man who is terrified of heights and planes the window seat. Anyway enjoy the fic, sorry if there’s any spelling or grammar mistakes

Chapter 1: Leaving Home

Chapter Text

It started late one night with a dream, a very weird dream. She woke up with a start and looked at her alarm clock. The time read 3:30 AM, There’s no way I’m getting back to sleep now. What was that dream? She thought to herself, then she felt this weird pull in her chest like she needed to be somewhere like she needed to be home which was weird because she was home but home hadn’t felt exactly like a home recently and more like a house she just happened to inhabit.

Her and her mom had been arguing a lot lately and those arguments usually wound up with her mom threatening to kick her out and telling her to get a life. She had a life it just wasn’t the kind you’d expect for a 16 year old girl, she had managed to finish highschool in two years instead of the usual four spending most of her time in the summer working on school instead of hanging out with friends, getting drunk at parties etc like everyone else her age. She wanted to don’t get her wrong but her hatred for school and wanting to have more time to do things she liked later in life pushed her to finish school early and it wasn’t like it was hard either she had skipped her 7th grade year ‘cause it was too easy. That night she made up her mind she was leaving home and following that pull, not caring at all where it took her but first she had to pack the essentials, which was all the books on her shelves, her clothes (she didn’t have a lot) and her recurve bow (which she’d won quite a few competitions with).  Loosening the limb bolts so she could easily pack it in her truck along with everything else, she grabbed her quiver of arrows and set off to follow that pull. Leaving her small town in Montana behind.

She’d been driving for hours, it was going on 10:30 AM by the time she pulled over at a gas station to fill up her truck, stretch her legs, use the bathroom, and find a place to eat around here. She was waiting in line, some snacks for later in her arms, when she overheard two people talking, she assumed they were locals by the way they seemed familiar with the area.

“Did ya hear Christina just up and disappeared, no note nothing,” The first guy said, he was in disbelief someone would do something like that.

“She’s not the first person to disappear in the past few weeks, what if a serial killer is in town or something,” The other guy fretted. The people in this town seem like a gossipy bunch. Eva thought to herself

“I don’t think it’s a serial killer Cliff, don’t be so rash, there's probably a perfectly reasonable explanation to all of this,” it seemed like he was trying to comfort his very frantic friend. It might have worked a little bit but Eva couldn’t tell she was too busy eavesdropping on the conversion to care, suddenly it was her turn, she stopped listening and turned her attention to the cashier, she looked to be about Eva’s age.

“Any clue what those two are on about,” She gave the cashier a questioning look.

“Oh those two, one’s Josh the other is Cliff, Cliff’s the local conspiracy theorist. Totally off his rocker if you ask me, Josh is his best friend and the voice of reason most of the time,” the cashier rolled her eyes as the two men kept talking, it was very clear she didn’t care for either of ‘em.

“Why’d ya ask?” the cashier asked whose name tag read Dena.

“Oh I’m just passing through and heard them talking about a lady who went missing recently, it piqued my interest I guess, Do you know what's going on?” Eva asked, raising an eyebrow.

“Yeah, Christina disappeared just the other day, the town's local priest, sweet old gal. No idea why she left all of a sudden, not the first disappearance we’ve had the past few weeks either. Cliff is convinced it’s either a demon or a serial killer. Cliff is from the deep south, grew up in the bible belt and thinks anything out of the ordinary is demonic. Like I said guys totally off his rocker.” That piqued Eva’s interest, demons were her thing, actually anything supernatural was her thing.

Her interest had started when she was young, her closest friend when she was younger was a ghost, then when she was 11 or 12 she was at a store with her mom and had found these books with two guys on the cover. The author's name was Chuck (she could never remember his last name) she loved all the characters but hated Chuck's writing style, Chuck seemed like a grade A asshole. The fan fiction was fire though, especially the ones shipping Dean and Castiel together. Later she found out that all of them were real, Chuck being a profit, Dean and Sam hunting supernatural creatures and Castiel being an Angel of the Lord. The way she found out was quite interesting as well, she was scrolling on a fan forum when she found a video, in it was Sam and Dean facing some kind of creature at a fan event. THEN she had found out about the ‘ghost facers’, she found a video with Sam, Dean and Cas. After she had found out all about this she started looking into all the creatures that Sam and Dean had faced in the books and found out how to take ‘em on. She never did anything major, just stuff in her small town. Took out a Vamp who was trying to start a nest, saved a friend from being possessed, stuff like that, she even made different arrows for different creatures.

“Demons ya say,” Eva said, “that is crazy. Mind if I take one of these?” Eva held up a newspaper. The front headline was about the recent disappearances.

“Yeah, go ahead. I won’t even charge ya.” Dena said with a smile.

“Thanks, know where I can get something to eat?” Eva asked, picking up her bag of snacks and paying with her card.

“Yeah the only decent place to eat here is Cashway Cafe, the prices ain’t bad though, the food's pretty good as well.”  Dena smiled.

“Thanks Dena,” Eva returned her smile, pulling out her phone to put in the directions.

She left the gas station and got in her truck, setting her snacks and the newspaper in the passenger seat. How she had managed to drive for seven hours and still be in Montana, she couldn’t tell ya and that's with her speeding most of the time. She couldn’t wait to get out of this stupid state and leave her old life behind her. Once she reached the diner she found a nice quiet booth, there weren’t many people here but she couldn’t risk any unwanted interactions. She had the newspaper tucked under her arm and sat down, it wasn’t long before the waiter walked over to take Eva’s order. Eva got some eggs, bacon and a hashbrown as well as a cup of coffee. Something was off about the waiter but Eva couldn’t put her finger on it. Eva continued to eat and read the newspaper, the more she read the more demonic it sounded. This was definitely her thing. Once she finished her meal Eva got some holy oil on her hands and touched where she knew the waiter would and as soon as the waiter grabbed the plate and saucer his hands started smoking and he dropped the dishes. That’s what was off about him, he was a demon and probably responsible for the missing people now she just had to catch him and get him to lead her to the missing people. Eva slammed a 20 on the table and hurried out the front door, she had seen the demon running toward the back exit and ran around the building just in time to corner the demon. In her research Eva had found a ‘spell’ in Latin that binds a demon to its vessel for a short period of time, just enough time for her to find where the missing people are. Once she had finished reciting the ‘spell’ she looked around to make sure no one was watching, seized the demon and led it back to her truck, tossed the snacks to the back seat and shoved the demon into the passenger side.

“Tell me where the missing people are and I’ll let you go.” Eva told the demon, it wasn’t a lie but it wasn’t exactly the truth either, what she meant by “letting go” was exorcizing the demon and sending it back to hell. But whoever this demon was was either new at this or a really big wimp because he told the her immediately where he was keeping those poor people he had kidnapped.

”Please don’t hurt me,” he begged, “I’ll tell you anything you wanna know, just please don’t hurt me.” God he’s pathetic Eva thought to herself.

”I already told you what I want to know, WHERE ARE THE MISSING PEOPLE!” Eva all but shouted.

”In an abandoned house a little ways down the road,” the pathetic little demon directed, Eva started up her truck and started driving in the direction the demon had pointed, it wasn’t hard to tell which of these houses was abandoned, it looked like it was about to fall apart. It was at the end of a dead end road, had boarded up windows and a roof that looked like a good amount of the shackles had fallen off. Eva left the demon in the truck, he was all but sobbing at the point, talking about how Crowley was gonna kill him etc etc. Good Eva thought, that demon was starting to get on her nerves. She walked up to the house, the door was unlocked which was nice. This demon must be new ‘cause he did a shitty job, Eva thought as she walked through the house into the master bedroom where she found both of the missing people tied up with ducked tape over their mouths. The knots the demon had done were easy to undo and she let the people take off their own ducked tape.

”Thank you, thank you!” An older gal exclaimed, it had to be Christina, Eva was sure of it, she’d seen her photo in the newspaper. The other person was a woman in her late 20s early 30s named Flora. Eva led them out of the house and onto the street and the two women walked away after thanking Eva again for saving them.

”Now time to deal with the sobbing demon in my truck” Eva said with disgust in her voice, the spell had all but worn off now but Eva had carved a Devil's trap under the seat for this exact reason. Eva finished the exorcism and banished the demon to hell to face whatever consequences Crowley had cooked up for him.

By the time Eva had finished the side quest she didn’t expect to go on it was already almost 12:30 in the afternoon, it was time to get back on the road and continue to follow that pull still in her heart.
