Which is crazy, look at all the shit I’ve written in a year 😂

I have been reading fics for longer than a year, and I officially started writing them at the end of 2024. But didn’t start posting on AO3 until February 13th, 2025.

So here we are!!!

I hope you like this one 😊 I’m finally having inspiration on what I want to do with this series, so I hopefully will be posting on it more often 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Work Text:

Chapter 4: Down Bad

Los Angeles, September 2011

🍼🏈❤️🧸

Buck and Eddie have been dating/officially boyfriends for nearly a week now.

It's been literal heaven.

They've gone on two study dates at the park where they shared their first kiss, one with Chris and one without. They had some extra fun on the one without Chris and made out in the backseat of Buck's Jeep, Eddie in Buck's lap, hands roaming everywhere, for nearly an hour, fogging up Buck's windows, until Eddie had to head back home to be with Chris.

Eddie has also officially started his campus job as a library assistant. He enjoys it a lot. It's such a relaxing job, and they let him listen to music as he either puts away books or prepares book orders for students. He also gets a discount since he works there; it's literally a lifesaver for him. They pay well, and he gets a discount, and it's completely stress-free.

Eddie is living like a dream come true.

On top of everything else, Pepa and Abuela have been practically begging Eddie to meet Buck because of how much they've heard about him, and how much happier Eddie has been since he met Buck.

Eddie wants Buck to meet them and for them to meet Buck. Just not yet. Soon, though, very soon.

For now, he just focuses on his job until Maddie and Karen pick him up to hang out and expand his very sad and bland wardrobe.

He's very excited.

Ever since Chris was born, he's been having to raise a baby while grieving his best friend/wife, while also dealing with his overbearing parents, but now, he's living like a college kid, living with family who loves him and helps take care of his infant son, and now he's got friends and a boyfriend!

Eddie's happier than he's ever been in his life. He wishes Shannon could be here too, though.

But he knows she's happy. She's with her mom in heaven, who died shortly after he and Shanon got married, from cancer. He knows she's happy and always watching over their son. He can just feel it in his heart.

He can sense that she's happy for him, too, because he's finally living like himself, dating a man who is the human embodiment of a golden retriever, who loves Chris like Eddie does.

So how could he not be happy?

He's free. He's living the life he deserves.

3:02 pm

Eddie has clocked out for the day and is heading for the main doors, seeing that he has two unread messages in the group chat with Maddie and Karen, one from each of them.

Fri-Yay Hangs:

Karen 🩷: heyyyyy, we're outside the library in the parking lot waiting for you!

Maddie 💜: you'll know where we are, trust me. see you soon, eddie!! 😘

Eddie seriously loves these two girls; they're so fun, and he can't help but smile at their excited energy.

As soon as Eddie steps outside, he easily spots a sedan that's still running, Maddie and Karen sitting inside.

Maddie's in the driver's seat and spots him first, smiling widely and waving him over.

Eddie laughs, waving, walking over to Maddie's sedan, Karen in the passenger's seat, with the window rolled down.

"Door's unlocked," Karen says, pointing to the back passenger door.

"Hop on in, new guy," Maddie jokes.

Eddie snorts, smiling, opening the door, hopping in, closing the door, then buckling in.

"Alright, let's go shopping," Eddie says enthusiastically.

That gets the girls laughing as Maddie drives them out of the library parking lot, towards the mall, it's a fifteen-minute drive.

Maddie and Karen ask Eddie questions throughout the drive, getting to know him a little, then he asks them some. It's really nice.

Eddie is a part of a friend group! And they're so smart, sweet, funny, and just all around amazing.

Eddie can definitely see where Buck got all of his amazing qualities from: his big sister, Maddie.

"Okay, so, Eddie, what should we start with?" Karen asks as the three of them walk inside the mall, Eddie standing in between them.

Eddie shrugs, looking back and forth between Maddie and Karen. "I don't know. I would like some actual stylish clothes that aren't just a Henley and a pair of jeans."

The girls laugh.

"Okay, so tops is really the main focus today," Maddie decides. "Your jeans are fine. We can shop for those next time." Eddie chuckles and nods. "So, we need to find you: shirts, jackets, sweaters or cardigans, and maybe some sweater vests too," Maddie lists off, counting them with her fingers.

"Oooh, sweater vests," Karen adds with a smile. "Those will definitely look good on you."

Eddie grins. "Yeah, I think so too. Lead the way."

Maddie and Karen each take one of his hands and pull him to the stores that they know will have clothes perfect for Eddie and that aren't too expensive.

Eddie has so much fun spending time with his new friends, who have an excellent fashion sense.

"Okay, so, do you think you've got enough?" Karen asks after they leave the third store, Maddie and Karen carrying two bags of clothes while Eddie carries three.

Eddie laughs. "Yeah, I think I have plenty." He literally just spent $75 in total on clothes.

He doesn't mind it, though; he's wanted to do this forever, well, since he realized he's gay. So now he can donate his old, shitty clothes to people who need them and wear ones that suit him better.

Maddie huffs. "Nah, you could never have enough clothes."

Eddie rolls his eyes. "Yeah, yeah. Well, I have limited closet space, so yes, I could have too many clothes ."

"It's called you make room, Eddie," Karen comments with a snicker.

Eddie shakes his head in amusement. "You two are bad influences on me."

"That's how you know we're true friends, Eddie," Maddie says, pulling her keys out of her purse, unlocking her car. "C'mon, it's dinner time. I'm digging some pizza right now."

"Unless you need to get back to Chris?" Karen asks as they load the bags in Maddie's trunk.

Eddie checks his watch, then closes the trunk. "I'll be fine to eat some pizza, then head home."

"Yaaay!" Karen and Maddie cheer, hopping into the car.

Eddie smiles, getting into the backseat.

Eddie loves Maddie and Karen; he can already tell that they're going to become his best friends. Shannon would've loved them, too.

Maddie and Karen drop him off at the library parking lot, a little while later, then they help him load the bags of clothes in his trunk before they each hug Eddie, then they walk back to Maddie's car.

"See you tomorrow night at the game!" Maddie shouts with a wave as she climbs back into the driver's seat.

"See you tomorrow!" Eddie yells back. "Thanks for today!"

"Anytime! See you tomorrow, Eddie!" Karen adds on before she gets into the car.

"Bye, girls!"

Eddie loves them so much.

🍼🏈❤️🧸

6:37 pm

Pepa and Abuela have many questions when he walks into the house with seven bags of clothes in his hands.

"What's this, Eddito?" Pepa asks, failing to hide her smile.

"Made some friends and they helped me improve my wardrobe."

"Finally," Isabel mutters.

Eddie snorts. "I know, I know. Where's Christopher?"

"Napping. Feel asleep right after dinner," Pepa tells him as she helps take two bags from his hands. "C'mon, sobrino, we must see what your friends picked out for you."

Eddie follows Josephina, Isabel trailing right behind him, holding a bag in each hand, leaving Eddie with three as they make their way to his room upstairs.

They peep into Chris's room before they go into Eddie's room, the infant sleeping soundly, looking adorable as ever.

God, Eddie loves his baby so much.

When Eddie walks into his room, Pepa and Abuela are smiling, looking through the bags of clothes.

Eddie loves them, despite how nosy they are.

"Nuestro Eddito finalmente está viviendo en sus verdaderos colores." (Our Eddito is finally living in his true colors.) Isabel cheers as she holds up one of the sweater vests Maddie and Karen picked out for him.

Eddie blushes, trying to hide his face in his hands. "Los dos son tan vergonzosos." (You're both so embarrassing.)

"It's because we love you, sobrino," Pepa says lovingly, kissing his cheek, hugging him.

Eddie hugs her back, pulling Abuela in on the hug too.

"Thank you, mi familia, te amo," he tells them.

"Te amo," Pepa says back.

"Te amo," Abuela echoes.

Eddie loves them so much.

🍼🏈❤️🧸

8:43 pm

After Pepa and Abuela leave his room to make dinner, Eddie begins to work on his closet and washes his new clothes.

He also finishes up his schoolwork for the week in between the loads of clothes.

Buck FaceTimes him as he's bagging up his old clothes to be donated. He'll drop them off tomorrow at Goodwill before he goes to Buck's game.

Eddie quickly picks up his phone off the bed, answering the call, making sure the baby monitor's volume is loud enough so he can hear it if Chris wakes up.

"Hey, gorgeous," Buck greets with a grin when Eddie answers the call.

"Hey, cowboy. What have you been up to today? How was practice?"

Buck smiles. God, he's so adorable. "Practice was good. Our defense is getting better."

Not that they were really lacking in the first place, they just have a few weak spots, at least that's what Eddie has learned from what Buck told him.

"That's good. New guy getting along well with the team?"

"Oh, yeah, rookie is practically our best bud now."

Eddie chuckles, propping his phone up on his nightstand, resuming his task of folding his old clothes up, then putting them in bags, trash bags to be specific.

"Mhm, sure, babe. How bad have you all terrorized him?"

Buck gawks at him, placing a hand over his heart in mock offense. "How dare you, baby? I would never."

Eddie snorts, folding up the last few shirts, blushing. He loves it when Buck calls him baby, or gorgeous, or beautiful, or just anything, really.

"I would never do that to Ravi." Ravi Panikkar is the new guy. "I'm a nice guy, Eddie, I wouldn't."

"Mhm, and you seem to forget I have a class with him, mi amor." Eddie gives Buck a look, smiling smugly because he knows about it all.

Not that the team has hurt Ravi in any way, but they've teased him endlessly and pranked him a few times, which is a thing that the team always does with new players, Eddie found out. It's like an initiation kind of thing.

"Well, shit, baby. Seems I forgot about that."

Eddie laughs, putting the full bags on the floor by his bed, so he can relax on it and chat with Buck in a more comfortable spot. "It's okay, cowboy. You're cute, you get a free pass."

Buck grins, face flushed. "Good to know my boyfriend thinks I'm cute."

Eddie winks. "Always."

Buck smiles at him, just looking at him, then Eddie finds himself staring at Buck too, the rest of the world fading away.

Chris's cries through the baby monitor snap the two men out of their trance.

"Be right back," Eddie says before he quickly walks out of his room to Chris's across the hall, picking up his son from his crib, bouncing the infant in his arms to get him to stop crying.

"Shh, mijo, it's okay," Eddie soothes, kissing Chris's head once the infant calms down a little. "You're okay, mijo. I'm here."

Chris stops crying, fisting Eddie's shirt.

Eddie smiles softly. "You're okay, mijo."

Eddie leaves Chris's room back into his, closing his door behind him, walking back to where he left his phone.

"Hey, baby, you're back. How's little man?" Buck greets when he sees Eddie walk back into the frame.

Eddie smiles at his boyfriend. "Hey, mi amor. He's okay. Just decided to be fussy."

Buck chuckles, watching Chris relax into Eddie's arms.

Eddie moves to sit on the bed, holding Chris in one of his arms, grabbing his phone from the nightstand with his free hand so Buck can see both of them.

"How's my Superman doing?" Buck asks in a kiddie voice, smiling down at the infant.

"Blagghblagg," Chris babbles, reaching out for the phone because he hears the big blonde man's voice. He loves the big blonde man. "Bouuuuckble."

Both men chuckle.

Eddie loves how much Buck cares for Chris and how much Chris clearly likes Buck. They really were meant to be. "He really likes you, Buck."

"Not as much as me, though," Buck quips, smiling.

Chris reaches out for the phone again. "Bubable."

"Hey, buddy," Buck says, still talking in his kiddie voice. "I know you can hear me. Sadly, I'm not with you. But guess what, you get to see me tomorrow. Isn't that exciting?"

Chris giggles, his eyes going big and wide, looking at the phone screen curiously.

It's so fucking adorable.

"You hear that, mijo?" Eddie coos down at his son. "You get to see Buck tomorrow."

Chris giggles, pressing his fist to his mouth, gnawing on it with his baby teeth that are starting to come in.

"I know, I'm excited too."

"Same here," Buck says, mesmerized by Eddie and Chris. He could watch them for days on end. "Miss my boys."

Eddie looks up at his phone, which is held in his hand that's not holding his son, smiling at his boyfriend. "Miss you too, sweetheart."

Buck smiles so big his eyes crinkle.

Chris yawns, making a cute little sound, and Buck and Eddie jerk their heads down to look at the sleepy infant.

"He's the cutest kid I've ever seen in my life," Buck whispers.

"Yeah, he really is."

"Hey, Eds, I'm going to head out," Buck says after a few seconds of both of them staring at Christopher, yawning. "And leave you two to it."

Eddie looks back at his phone. "Okay, cariño. See you tomorrow."

Buck smiles softly. "See you tomorrow, beautiful."

Eddie's face turns bright pink.

"Bye, baby," Buck says with a little wave.

"Bye, sweetheart."

Buck ends the call, Eddie lets the phone fall onto the bed, and holds his son tighter, rocking him to sleep.

"I know, mijo, I love him too."

Eddie eventually puts Chris back into his crib and then gets ready for bed himself, dreaming of a certain blonde with ocean blue eyes.

The Next Day

Eddie is currently getting ready for Buck's football game, flipping through his closet, trying to find something to wear because he has options now. A lot of options.

He eventually decides on an outfit. A pair of blue jeans with a UCLA cashmere sweater that he and the girls found at one of the stores they shopped at yesterday, because they knew he'd love to wear it to Buck's football games.

Of course, it was at the back of the closet. He definitely needs to organize his closet better so it's easier to find the clothes he wants to wear for different occasions.

Once he gets dressed, he slips a pair of boots on, then heads downstairs to grab Chris from his playpen and change him into an outfit for the game tonight.

"Alright, mijo, time for you to get ready so we can see Buck tonight," Eddie says in a baby voice, stripping Chris of his clothes, then changing his diaper.

Chris smiles and babbles adorably, his arms and legs moving around everywhere.

"I know," Eddie coos, tickling Chris's tummy, making Chris giggle loudly. "I'm excited too, mijo."

Eddie changes Chris into a dark blue onesie after changing his diaper, then he gets the backpack ready. Packing it with spare diapers, baby wipes, the noise-canceling headphones, a bottle of formula for Chris, the firefighter duck, and the football duck he painted. Chris doesn't always need the ducks, but they help calm him or give him something to do if he gets squirmy.

Once everything is packed, he grabs Christopher, the backpack, his phone, wallet, and keys, kisses Abuela and Pepa bye, they kiss Chris goodbye, then Eddie is out the door, ready to see his boyfriend and friends, making sure to drop off his old clothes first that he packed into his car this morning.

🍼🏈❤️🧸

Eddie instantly spots Hen and Karen on the bleachers and walks over to them, Chris squirming in his arms.

"I know, mijo," Eddie whispers to his son, kissing Chris's temple.

Chris just wants to see Buck. He likes Karen and Hen well enough, but he wants Buck.

Hen and Karen are happy to see them, and Karen says she loves the sweater on Eddie.

"Why, thank you," Eddie says, blushing slightly from the compliment. "I'm glad Maddie spotted it yesterday."

Chris fists the material, mesmerized by the way it feels in his tiny hands.

"Let me guess," Hen starts, a little smirk on her face. "You're going to wear it to every one of Buck's games?"

Eddie groans and rolls his eyes, resting Chris on his knee so he can get the noise-canceling headphones for Chris.

"No, of course not," Eddie replies as he grabs the headphones out of the backpack. "It's just something I'll wear to some of his games."

Yeah, that doesn't help his case any. They already tease him enough about how down bad he is. (Which he knows he is, and he's unashamed.)

Hen and Karen laugh loudly.

"Boy, you are absolutely ridiculous," Hen says, catching her breath now that she's done laughing.

"Yeah, I know I am. Don't remind me. I've fallen completely in love with him, and I've literally only known him a week."

"That's love," Karen says with a smile and a shrug, looking at her girlfriend when she says it.

Eddie smiles, looking down at his baby. "Yeah, sounds about right. But if you asked me that a week ago, I wouldn't agree with you."

"Oh my God," Hen groans. "I swear I've never met someone as lovely sick as you. And I had to deal with Chimney every day in the first two months when he and Maddie started dating. Not to mention the six months it took for them to start dating. It was nonstop. And you and Buck are somehow worse than that."

Eddie laughs, bouncing Christopher on his knee, getting the infant to laugh as he's still somehow entertained by how Eddie's sweater feels in his hands.

"Not my fault. Buck's just so adorable, and sweet, and funny, and caring, and beautiful, and—"

Hen cuts him off while Karen is giggling into her hand. "And we're going to cut you off right there, now and forever."

"I wasn't done yet. But fine, I'll just tell him later."

"Oh my God," Hen groans. "You're impossible."

The announcer starts to blab about something sports-related, but Eddie's not paying attention because when that starts, that means the players are coming onto the field, so he starts to look around for his boyfriend, number 9.

Chris spots Buck first, though, and points to the blonde, babbling excitedly, trying so hard to say 'Buck.'

"That's right, mijo. There's Buck," Eddie says, kissing his son's temple, centering Chris in his lap. "Let's wave to him, maybe he'll see us."

Chris grins as Eddie grabs Chris's wrist so he can wave at Buck, who's on the bench because UCLA is on defense first.

So Eddie's hoping Buck will look for them and see them.

Buck does, thirty seconds later. He wanted to see Eddie and Chris, his boys, who are smiling at him and waving at him.

Buck can't help the smile on his face as he waves back to them, blowing them kisses.

Eddie turns bright red and blows a kiss back to Buck, then Eddie moves Chris's arm for him, blowing a kiss—sort of. Chris's arms are like dead weight at the moment; he's just letting his dad do whatever as he's staring at the big blonde man.

Sadly, it doesn't last too long because Buck has to eventually get onto the field to play the game.

Eddie is Buck's loudest cheerleader, and Chris is clueless to everything that is going on; he's more focused on where the big blonde man went, wondering when he can get some milk from him and be held by him.

"You should be a cheerleader," Karen jokes when halftime starts. UCLA is winning by two touchdowns.

Eddie snorts, bouncing Chris on his knee. "I'm not that loud."

Hen gives him a look. "Mhm, sure. And I'm not a lesbian." Karen laughs at that.

"I hate you guys," he mumbles, kissing Chris's golden curls.

"Yeah, no, you don't," Karen says, nudging his shoulder with hers.

"No, I don't," he agrees.

Yeah, he really doesn't. He loves them, and Maddie, and Buck.

When halftime is nearly half over, Eddie hands Karen Chris, so he can run off to the bathroom.

Chris was confused when Eddie did so, but Eddie assured his son that he would be right back before he walked off.

When Eddie left the bathroom, he spotted Buck hanging in a corner, alone, looking down at his phone.

"See something interesting, cowboy?" Eddie flirts, walking over to his boyfriend.

Buck looks up from his phone and smiles big and wide, sticking his phone in a pocket somewhere. Eddie's not really paying attention to what Buck is doing with his hands right now. "Nope. Just had to find an excuse to stand out here and wait for you," Buck steps closer and closer to Eddie as he talks. "I wanted to see you, without an infant watching."

Eddie snorts, his cheeks turning bright pink, eyes locking on Buck's lips, which are two inches away from his. "Oh, yeah?"

"Just for now. You know I love that kid."

Eddie bites his bottom lip, eyes flicking up and down Buck's face. "Well, c'mere, then."

Eddie hooks a finger in the collar of Buck's jersey, pulling the blonde forward to close the gap between the two, locking their lips.

Buck instantly melts into the kiss, gripping Eddie's waist, pushing Eddie against the wall.

Eddie whines when Buck does so, his grip tightening in Buck's hair, granting Buck entry as soon as the blonde's tongue presses against his lips.

When the kiss deepens, Buck moves a hand down to Eddie's thigh, grabs it tight, hiking it up, holding Eddie tighter against him.

"Oh, fuck, Buck," Eddie moans against Buck's lips when they pull back for a moment to breathe.

Buck nuzzles his nose into Eddie's neck, kissing and nibbling the brunette's skin.

"I need to get back. Halftime is almost over. But I needed to see you."

Eddie toys with the short hairs on the back of Buck's neck. "Yeah, you probably should get back. Just not yet. I needed to see you, too. Even if I didn't know it until I saw you."

Buck chuckles, kissing up Eddie's neck, to his jaw, to his lips, connecting their lips again, for deep, passionate kisses, Buck's other hand sliding down to Eddie's ass, hand still tightly holding Eddie's thigh.

Eddie moans, rocking his hips forward—accidentally, but it still happens because he's completely and utterly turned on right now—against his boyfriend.

"Fuck," Buck groans, pulling back, chest heaving. "The things you do to me."

Eddie's head falls back against the wall, gasping for air. "Yeah, me too. But you need to get back out there, mi amor." Before they stay like this for the rest of the game.

Because they have no self-control around each other, once they start kissing, they don't want to stop.

"Yeah," Buck looks Eddie up and down. "I'll see you afterwards?"

Eddie nods, moving his hands to Buck's chest. "Go, go. Chris and I will see you once it's over."

Buck pecks Eddie's lips once more before letting the brunette go, pulling away. "Can't wait, baby."

"I'll be the loudest one out there."

Buck smiles over his shoulder, eyes locked on Eddie. "I know."

Buck forces himself to walk off before he says fuck the game and stays with Eddie instead.

He surprised himself with his self-control and focused back on the game, which they are kicking the other team's ass.

He can kiss Eddie later and cuddle with his Superman later, after the game is over.

After Eddie catches his breath and semi-fixes his hair, he heads back to the bleachers, hoping he's stopped blushing so Hen and Karen can't tease him more than they already have today.

(Yeah, it was an epic fail.)

Hen and Karen look at him knowingly, seeing his messy hair and flushed cheeks.

Eddie just takes his son back and focuses back on the game, ignoring them, watching his boyfriend, and feeding Chris when the fourth quarter starts because he started to get squirmy and whiny.

🍼🏈❤️🧸

UCLA wins by seventeen points—a field goal and two touchdowns. It was getting to be a close game at the start of the fourth quarter, but Buck put UCLA back in the lead by scoring a touchdown. Then their lead kept growing. The new guy, Ravi, actually scored the second touchdown to make their lead even higher.

The crowd and the team celebrate, Eddie trying to squeeze his way through everyone with a backpack on his back and an infant in his arms.

He didn't want to wait for the crowds to dissipate before getting to see Buck.

God, Eddie is down so fucking bad for him.

The football players, coaches, including Bobby, and the cheerleaders are exclaiming with excitement at their win, congratulating Panikkar on his first touchdown.

Buck spots him very quickly, like he could sense that Eddie was there, and walks straight for him, a big, happy grin on his face.

Eddie freezes in place, heart racing as Buck gets closer and closer to him.

Chris coos excitedly, seeing the big blonde man coming closer, reaching out for him, making the grabby hands motion. "Blaggplb!"

Buck shakes his head and laughs at that, Eddie too, the two of them not breaking eye contact.

As soon as Eddie is in Buck's reach, he tightly grips the brunette's waist and yanks him closer, whispering, "Hey, baby," to Eddie's lips before joining their lips for deep, passionate kisses. Making sure not to go too crazy because they have a large audience, including a six-month-old, who's unhappy that Buck isn't giving him any attention.

So he whines.

Buck and Eddie pull back, smiling at each other, panting for air. Chris whines again.

"Okay, Superman, c'mere." Buck reaches to take Chris, and Eddie hands Chris to Buck. "There ya go, buddy. You happy now, huh?"

Chris giggles, smiling big and wide up at Buck, his blue eyes glistening with joy.

Buck kisses Chris's face. "Yeah, you just needed some Buck Time, huh?"

"Blgggggb."

"That's definitely a yes," Eddie says, chuckling, watching his son and boyfriend interact. God, they're both so cute. He could watch this all day.

Buck smiles, glancing over at Eddie before looking back down at the infant.

"Have you had your dinner yet, buddy?" Buck coos, bouncing Chris in his arms.

"Yeah, right at the start of the fourth quarter."

"Well, dang."

Eddie laughs. "I know. But he was getting squirmy, and he had an early lunch. He's been really fussy today."

Buck kisses Chris's curls. "Poor guy. He just doesn't know what he wants. There are just so many things to do."

Chris babbles adorably, still staring at Buck.

Buck smiles. "I love you, little buddy, you know that?"

"Bah!" Chris shouts, giggling.

Eddie can't help himself. So he pulls out his phone and takes a few pictures of them.

Once he's satisfied with the pictures he took, he asks Buck, "Hey, do you want to go somewhere for a little bit and hang out with Chris before I have to take him home and put him to bed? I need to be home within the next hour or so."

Buck looks up at Eddie. "Yeah, I'd love to. There are plenty of spots on campus. We can sit on a bench somewhere and just sit, if you want."

"Sounds perfect, let's go before everyone corners us and gives us shit."

Buck laughs. Eddie loves how it sounds. It's music to his ears.

"C'mon, baby, walk with me."

The two walk side by side out of the football field and to a walking trail on campus. They eventually find a bench and sit down on it, the backpack at Eddie's feet, their thighs pressing together, Chris in Buck's lap, fiddling with Buck's sweaty hair.

Eddie pulls Chris's tiny hands out of it. "He's nasty, mijo. You don't want to touch that."

Chris babbles, trying to reach for Buck's hair again.

Chris loves feeling different things, feeling their textures.

Buck chuckles, smiling down at his boys.

Eddie leans his head on Buck's shoulder once Chris calms down, the infant starting to get sleepy and relaxes into Buck's arms.

Buck rests his head on Eddie's.

"I could get used to this," Buck whispers.

Eddie presses a barely there kiss to Buck's shoulder. "Me too, cariño, me too."

Chris yawns, making cute little baby noises as he starts to fall asleep.

"He's almost asleep, Eds. We should probably get back."

Eddie nods, not moving, reaching a hand out to delicately hold his son's wrist. "Yeah, we should. Even though I don't want to just yet."

Buck chuckles softly. "Me either. But Superman needs to get to bed."

Eddie sighs, and he and Buck sit up. "Yeah, he does. Walk with me?"

"Of course. Is it okay if I carry him?"

Eddie smiles, leaning over to kiss Buck's lips sweetly. "It's more than okay, baby, c'mon." Eddie picks up the backpack, throws it on his back, then helps Buck stand as the blonde readjusts Christopher in his arms so he doesn't disturb the now sleeping infant.

The two walk side by side all the way to Eddie's car, keeping their voices low as they carry on a conversation the whole way, checking on Chris now and again to make sure he's still sleeping—he is. He's passed right out in His Buck's arms.

Once they get to Eddie's car, Eddie pulls his keys out of the backpack to unlock it for Buck to put Chris in his car seat, opening the door for the blonde.

"You be good for your dad now, okay, Superman? I'll see you soon." Buck gently kisses Chris's forehead, the infant not moving. "Love you, buddy."

Eddie closes the car door, facing Buck with a sad expression.

Buck groans. "Don't look at me like that, baby."

Eddie frowns, meeting Buck's slightly dilated eyes. "What?"

Buck closes the distance between them, pulling Eddie forward against his chest, nibbling along Eddie's neck. "Don't give me those eyes, gorgeous. As much as I want to stay here with you all night, you have to get the little guy into bed."

Eddie moans, running his hands up to grip Buck's biceps. Fuck, he's so muscular. God, he's so fucking hot.

"Buck," Eddie pleads.

Buck presses his forehead to Eddie's. "Go home, baby. Call me when you get Chris all settled, okay?"

Eddie nods. "Okay. Kiss me first."

Buck smiles slyly. "I can't say no to that, now can I?"

Eddie chuckles, moving to close the gap between their lips. "Shut up and kiss me, cowboy."

Buck slides his hands down to Eddie's ass and pulls the bruentte in, throwing his mouth right onto Eddie's.

Eddie lets out a muffled yelp when Buck does so.

This is becoming a problem.

Eddie moves his hands up to Buck's neck, rubbing their tongues together.

Eddie's initial feelings about not seeing or talking to anyone but Hen and Karen, the sadness he felt, dissipates as soon as their tongues touch.

Buck groans, pushing Eddie back against the trunk of Eddie's sedan, Eddie whimpering when Buck does so.

"Jesus, baby, the sounds you make," Buck breathes into Eddie's ear after he pulls back so they can get some air.

"Fuck, Buck," Eddie moans.

"Baby, we...I."

Eddie nods, pressing their foreheads together, both of them gasping for air. "I'll call you once I'm home and he's in bed."

"Yeah, yeah, yeah. I-I need to go."

Neither moves. Not for a solid five minutes before they kiss chastely, Buck pulling away from Eddie reluctantly.

"Stay safe, baby. See you later."

Eddie smiles, getting onto his tiptoes to peck Buck's cheek. "Bye, babe. Good job today. You did so good."

Buck ducks his head, blushing ferociously.

Eddie makes a mental note to bring that up later.

The two kiss once more before Eddie hops into his car and drives off, Chris still snoozing in the backseat, Buck watching Eddie until he can't see him anymore before running to the locker room to grab all of his stuff. He'll shower once he's at his dorm because he does not want to deal with everyone giving him shit about how sappy he is with Eddie.

He can't help it, he's in love.

9:33 pm

As soon as Eddie is home, he heads upstairs to put Chris in his crib, then texts Buck to say he's home.

Eddie: I made it home, and Chris is officially in his bed.

Buck responds less than a minute later as Eddie is putting away the items from the backpack, grabbing his phone and the empty milk bottle, making his way downstairs when his phone vibrates.

Buck ❤️🏈: i'm glad. i'm back at my dorm too.

OMG HE'S SO PRECIOUS I LOVE HIM SO MUCH!

Eddie laughs, setting his phone on the kitchen counter so he can have his hands free to wash out the empty milk bottle.

Once it's washed, Eddie texts Buck back.

Eddie: He loves you, too.

I'll call you soon. ❤️ Can't wait to see you.

Buck ❤️🏈: can't wait, baby.  ❤️

Eddie smiles down at his phone screen, most definitely blushing.

That's when Pepa and Abuela walk in.

"Oh, Eddito, you're home," Pepa cheers, her voice soft to not wake her grand-nephew.

"You're red, nieto," Isabel observes, smiling smugly.

Eddie sighs, pocketing his phone. "Just texted Buck that I'm back home."

"Ah, that's why," Abuela mumbles, grinning.

"When are we finally going to meet Buck, sobrino?" Josephina asks.

"We've only been together for a week, tía," Eddie groans.

"Aye, it's been seven days too long, nieto."

"I'll talk to him."

Abuela suddenly gasps with an idea. "Invite him over for lunch tomorrow."

Eddie's mouth falls open, trying to find the words. "I-I'll talk to him," he finally says, stuttering slightly.

"¡Maravillosa!" Pepa and Abuela cheer simultaneously. (Wonderful!)

Eddie smiles. God, he loves them. "I'm going to get ready for bed. I'll let you know what he says. Te amo, tía. Te amo, Abuela."

They each kiss him on the cheek, telling him they love him, before he walks out of the kitchen and back upstairs to his room.

Eddie calls Buck after he checks on Chris, grabs the baby monitor, and goes back into his bedroom.

Buck immediately says yes when Eddie asks about lunch tomorrow.

The two talk until well after midnight before hanging up to go to bed.

Eddie stares up at his ceiling, smiling like a lovesick dork, before he eventually falls asleep, very excited for tomorrow.

He can't wait for Buck to meet Pepa and Abuela, or for them to meet Buck.
