His father, Ji North's emperor, had made it an order. As if he had any right to command Zi'ang. As if Zi'ang hadn't already decided.
He couldn't breathe in Ji North, not when every night brought the same memory: Shuhe's face the night they'd parted, the tears on his cheeks, the blade in Zi'ang's shoulder.
