Two suns on the same sky

Summary:

There once was a little bird, named Rachel.
Tell me little girl, do you want to fly far upon the sky?

Notes:

I think I wrote this, after reading Angels of death (if I remember correctly). Anyway, enjoy reading!

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Rachel Gardner. That was her name. A little bird in a little nest. Once upon a time, there was a girl named Rachel. And that girl was Rachel.
No, she wasn't. The little bird fluttered its wings. Her mom and dad built the nest, warm and protected, with lots and lots of feathers.
Is this your perfect home? asked the caterpillar.
Of course. The caterpillar will become a butterfly that spreads its wings.
Flutter, flutter ~ the little bird doesn't want to fly. She wants to stay here, here, safe in the nest filled with feathers, with lots and lots of love.
Pat pat... the rain tears the butterfly apart. Her wings become heavy until they are torn to the ground and the glass breaks. Rachel is safe here,
safe at home. Safe in her self-made nest. Clink. Glass clattered. Papa bird spreads his wings.
So big, so far to fly ~ Mama bird cries. In the middle of singing, she lost her voice, the wind carried it away because Mama was angry.
She must be punished. “WHY DID THIS DEMON CREATE YOU?!”
She sobbed. I think my cheek is burning. Mama, is this your way of showing love?
Mama loves her.
Rachel loves Mama. So Mama must be silent for her.
Papa silenced her. Papa loves Rachel. Her nest is safe.
Rachel loves Papa. So Papa must love Mama.
Now Mama and Papa will never be separated again...
Her nest was warm.
The little bird snuggles into the feathers.
Mama smiles at her. Her smile is beautiful... Rachel is happy that Mama will be happy forever now.
They are together forever now, as a happy family should be.

Notes:

A brief character study of Rachel, because Angels of Death has such damm good characterphyche! To be honest, this was quite random, something you might write during a car ride? Maybe I wrote this during a car ride? Probably. Angel of Death was one of my first manga I‘ve ever read. It’s fantastic~
Thanks for reading!
Have a nice day!
