Chapter Text
Free! Free for the first time in a thousand years! Untethered after so long. She swam through the oceans, she soared through the skies, she dug through the earth, she burned in the fires of her home.
She mourned her slain children and welcomed them back to her embrace. She examined these new intruders with fear. They were not. They were empty yet they moved. Faded impression of another. She would need to defend her home. She would need a champion. But she must not rush in judgment - choosing a champion was irreversible. She must find one who was worthy.
She checked on the pretender. They still guarded the pieces of the prison. Still fought. Still called for her. Sensed her when she grew near. Unusually perceptive… perhaps enough to guide her children to a place of safety, if shown where to look.
