A routine patrol sees Sketch and Kawa out on their speeder bikes. The traffic around them is heavy today; an unfortunate collision between a goods speeder and a taxi on one of the main arteries for this quadrant resulting in diverted traffic along this route. The bike idles between Sketch's legs, the gentle rumble familiar and soothing. They're stuck behind another goods vehicle, and with nowhere to be and not enough space to manoeuvre around it, they both wait patiently.
It's nice to patrol like this anyway; with his squadmate humming cheerfully over comms - some snippet of a song they caught on the GAR radio this morning as their shift started. Sketch will likely want to rip the vocoder from his vod's helmet by the end of the shift if he keeps it up though.
Then Kawa suddenly hops off of his speeder and saunters towards the back of the goods vehicle, still humming brightly.
"Kawa?" Sketch asks after him, hand twitching towards the blaster holstered at his hip. "Everything alright?"
There's a pause in the tune as Kawa responds, "All good, Sketch," he says with a tone bordering on mischievous.
Kawa then reaches out with both of his gloved hands and draws a heart shape in the filth coating the back door of the goods vehicle. Sketch watches on in amused confusion as Kawa giggles and then hops back on to his speeder.
The driver of the taxi speeder next to them smiles widely when Sketch glances around, points at Kawa's drawing and gives them a thumbs up. The light finally changes and the goods vehicle pulls away in a belch of exhaust gases, and Kawa cackles.
Sketch shakes his head in fond amusement. "You are a fucking menace, vod," he says as they resume their patrol.
"Just spreading the love, brother," Kawa replies, returning to his upbeat wordless tune.
When the next candidate kindly presents itself to them later on that morning, it also finds itself adorned with Kawa's fingertip love heart. By the end of the shift, several of Coruscant's dirtiest vehicles now sport love hearts and Sketch takes great delight in sharing the footage from his helmet cam to share with their brothers.
