Izuku’s shoulders dropped slightly.
“I asked them if someone without a quirk could become a hero.”
Stendhal-san snorted. Izuku’s shoulders nearly covered his ears. He knew, he heard it from All Might already, he didn’t need to have Stendhal-san repeat it, too-
“Obviously,” Stendhal-san said, leaning back on his arms. “Quirks are merely tools; plenty of heroes have perfect quirks and not an ounce of heroism in their blood. You’re already more of a hero than numbers 2 through 10, combined.”
Izuku could feel the tears slipping down his cheeks, sobbing at the words he had been yearning to hear for so long.
“Did they- did they not say that?” Stendhal-san asked, startled by Izuku’s reaction.

Izuku dropped a thick stack of papers and other assorted stationery onto one of the common room’s tables, immediately gathering the attention of everyone currently in the room.
“Todoroki,” he said, straight-backed, having Shouto straining to look up at his face from his perch on the low sofa. “I’m here to finish it, once and for all.”
Shouto glanced between Izuku’s determined expression and his half-eaten bowl of noodles.
“My soba?”
“No,” Izuku rolled his eyes, pointing towards the wheeled whiteboard Ochako and Tenya were just wheeling into the room. “Your silly theory.”
On the whiteboard, in an obnoxiously large, pink font stood the lone goal Izuku had for the night:
“TOP TEN REASONS WHY I AM NOT ALL MIGHT’S SECRET LOVE CHILD”

Izuku took in a deep breath, weighing his words. Fuck it, he decided. I don't want to hide it.
"I'm quirkless."
He expected a few potential reactions. He didn't expect the girl to grin, starry-eyed, and tuck the invention in the crook of her arm in order to grasp Izuku by the arms and twirl them around.
"Yes, yes, YES!" She yelled. "That's exactly what I've always wanted: a blank slate to work with! You need to let me make babies for you, you need to!"
