   Summary

   In the year Cosmic Era 71, a brutal war rages between genetically enhanced Coordinators and the Naturals of Earth. The neutral space colony Heliopolis becomes a battlefield when the military organization ZAFT attacks to steal five experimental "Gundam" mobile suits.
   Amidst the chaos, university student and Coordinator Kira Yamato is separated from his friends. While seeking cover, he stumbles into a hidden, fortified basement beneath the Morgenroete. There, he discovers the Iron Castle, Mazinger Z.
   Forged from indestructible Super Alloy Z and powered by the mythic Photon Energy, the machine awaits a pilot with the "Seed" of evolution. With ZAFT forces closing in, Kira must board the Hover Pilder and awaken a power that could make him either a God or a Devil in this galactic conflict.
