Work Text:

"It's cold."

"I know."

"My nose is running."

"I can see that."

"I'm scared."

"It's okay."

You played with the wedding ring underneath your glove as Cabernet helped you onto the ice to the place right next to hers. You were wearing a very fluffy coat in which you could drown in, appropriate for the weather, while Cabernet was wearing a purple chic one where white fur was only seen on the edges. You felt like a polar bear next to her.

"It's not that bad, is it?", she chuckled, holding you close on the frozen pond.

You shock your head as you found that it was actually pretty easy to balance yourself on the ice, especially with your Girlfriend. "Where you ever on the ice before?", you ask, considering her calm.

She hummed in thought. "My parents rented a whole rink for my seventh birthday party."

Of course they did. "Must've been a fun birthday.", you say.

"Rather so, even the cake was ice themed and my whole grade was invited.", she unconsciously had the both of you drift over the ice. "And, as to not ridicule myself, my parents had me take lessons from a professional."

"You-" you chuckled. "Of course they did, but it's understandable, who'd want their kid to ridicule themselves?"

"What about you?", she tucked your head under her chin. "Did you ever have the luck?"

The luck you tried not to hold onto her word choice, it was true, you grew up west side, surrounded by gangs and criminals, snow wouldn't fall there, or if it did ; it would melt into mud like substances. Your parents have however always tried their best at giving you a good life, despite it all. Then one day your life was turned around by a single lotto ticket. It's been three years since then.

"Sometimes…" you smile at the memory. "Every winter my Father would take me and my siblings to the rink at least once, considering it was also rather far away.", you shrugged. "So you know.", she didn't.

"I like hearing about your childhood.", she pressed a kiss to your crown.

"You do?", you look up towards her, there seemed to be a certain… shine in her eyes, but that was gone as quick as it came.

"Of course.", she kissed you on the lips this time, leading you over the frozen lake in peace for what must've been half an hour before switching back to just walking around the gardens, looking at the white wonderland which they turned into.

"Do you grow herbs?", you ask as the both of you walk towards the Gazebo. You were holding each others hands, swinging them back and forth.

"A few.", she gestures towards a corner in her garden. "Thymine, asbestos, basil, oregano."

You snort. She crocked a brow. "Something funny?"

"No it's just…", you shake your head. "They are so average, I'd expect you to have something more outlandish, you know?"

She taps her chin in thought "We do also have some Tilter Mulér."

You stop to look at her. "Is that an actual plant or are you messing with me?"

She covered her mouth with her hand when she started giggling. "I'm messing with you, beautiful."

She kissed your forehead under the glorious ceiling of the Gazebo. You grumbled a little and leaned against her chest, her heart, watching your breath freeze and turn the landscape cloudy, the landscape which seemed to slowly darken.

"We should get inside, it's getting dark.", she stroked your hair.

Not finding a reason to disagree, you nodded and let her lead you back inside, where something nice was already waiting for you.

You held the warm chocolate in between your hands as you watches the fire roar into the chimney.

Cabernet said something.

You look up at her. "Hm?"

She shakes her head. "How does it taste?", she tapped the rim of your cup.

"Great!", you said, a big smile on your face as her questioning gaze continued. Ah, right… "Chocolate-y um…."

"And?"

"Creamy? I can taste a clear hint of marshmallows?", you crocked your head at her and she nodded, then bopped your nose.

"You're learning fast."

"I've a great teacher.", you shrugged, batting your lashes up at her.

She put her cup to the side to pull you in carefully, so that your back would lean against her chest, in the last few months you've come to realize that the Woman was rather… hands y. Not that you'd mind, you'd just have to lightly tug at her sleeves at any occasion and she'd pull you in, if she hadn't gotten her arms around you already.

"You're on your coms device.", you state, watching her type something in, though it was just far enough out of your vision, also she'd tilted it. The space between your eyebrows creases.

"Sorry, love.", she showed you her phone. "It's simple business."

You were able to read her last message, something about a restaurant opening. You nodded. "Ok.", you leaned back against her as she typed away, before throwing the device onto the sofa.

"Do you want anything else? Food, more hot chocolate…or?", she placed a gentle kiss below your ear. That woman had an appetite, you'd admit, be it her plate or…

"I'm good for now."

She hummed, watching the fire herself now while you enjoyed the drink.

"Could I…", you started. "…would you take me as a plus one?", you watch yourself in the close to empty drink. "To that opening?"

She spreads her whole hand over your stomach and rests her head on your shoulder, you sneeze from her fiery hair, tickling your nose. "That would make us official~", she hummed, very happy.

It was you who wanted to keep everything under wraps first. The two of you had been… familiar with each other before, polite conversations, handshakes, shared dinners, shared corridors, shared beds. That lasted for three months, from May to August, before one of you confessed, having catched feelings.

The tabloids had figured that one out before you, picking it up every few months, like last one, where a photographer catched you taking a late night walk out in the city.

"I'm ready for it now.", you said, placing your cup on the small table next to the sofa.

She turned you inside her lap and before you knew it her lips wrapped around yours, not giving you any time to catch your breath. She started devouring you, or at least it felt like that, with her toung dragging itself over every crevice, corner and crook while her teeth went at your lips, reveling in your whimpers as she broke the skin. You didn't want it to end, but your lungs were screaming for air, aching already and you had to part, leaning your head into your neck as you took a large breath.

She, meanwhile, was grinning like the cat which got the cream, holding your back steadily. When you looked down, you once again saw that glint, that shine, inside her violet eyes.

"Is-" a breath "-something wrong?", you punched out.

"No.", she pulled you back in, pecking your lips, licking the blood away. "I'm just thinking about spoiling you."

You smile. "It'll just be splendid."
