Summary:
“I don’t understand,” Takaya mutters, pacing around the common room. “He is the perfect vessel for a Persona. The researchers always said he basically belongs to the Dark Hour. It’s why they kept him around. So why won’t he awaken?”
“I think it’s the lack of desire,” Jin says, his gaze analytical. “We fight for a clear goal, but he accepted death long before a desire could form as to what he wishes out of his sacrifice.”

An incident has thrown this play into chaos. Years of experiments, leading to our protagonist finding a different family. A persistent chase for death, only for death himself to ruin everything.

Before you keep reading and notice the canon inconsistencies, let me clarify that some of them are intentional (and those that aren't, I will pretend they are). Yes, the orphan experiments only lasted 6 months in canon, and yes, these experiments only happened a couple of months/years after the incident on the bridge. For the sake of this AU we are ignoring both of those things and… some other few things. I haven’t played Arena either, so I’m taking some creative liberties here. I hope this is still an enjoyable read and that things make sense within the rules I have broken. <3
