“If i could tell younger me one thing, it would be to spend as much time with your loved ones as you can and to cherish each moment that you do because before you know it, they will be gone and will never come back.”

He ran along the golden lit meadows running his tiny hands through the long grasses as he ran past the sun warming him up and filling him with happiness. Large green trees that grew atop slightly damp mossy ground stood in front of him tall and proud as he ran towards them with his best friend who may or may not be a large (very fluffy) starry furred tiger with four large turquoise and orange wings that he named Hoshi that it seemed only he could see. Sun streaked through the gaps of the flowering trees and shone on ground causing little parts of his strawberry milk pink hair to light up and little beams of light go into his eyes as he ran with a goofy smile on his face.
The sound of rushing water filled his ears as he ran towards the little creek and suddenly he broke out of the shade of the trees and swiftly jumped on the little mossy stepping stones that he used to cross the stream. The stream led into another large meadow but this one had brightly coloured flowers dotted all around it and a large wisteria tree in the middle of it.
He ran around in circles shrieking happily and giggling as Hoshi chased after him. He whirled around and shot himself into his tiger's fur and they tumbled around before breaking away from each other and they both rolled onto their backs. He breathed heavily as he watched the afternoon sky that was already starting to form small streaks of pink along it. He pushed himself up and off the ground before heading towards the forest again picking up a large stick and happily whacking a couple trees with Hoshi following right behind him. She suddenly nudged his back and he turned his head opening his mouth slightly showcasing the gap where one of his front teeth should be.
“What's up Hoshi?” He was confused as she made a purring sound before throwing yuuji onto her back causing yuuji to laugh like a mad man upon realizing what his tiger wanted to do. He pointed to the stick he was holding forward, “go hoshi!” He screamed and with a bunch of the tiger's muscles they were shooting through the forest. He gripped the red bandana that was tied around Hoshi's neck and urged the tiger to go faster. Eventually they slowed to a stop as they neared the large almost golden grassy fields that surrounded his home.
“Yuji! Dinners are almost ready, come wash up!” He heard his papa call as he got closer to the house. He held his hand on Hoshi’s fur and the tiger dipped her head and disappeared so his parents wouldn’t accidentally see her even though he was pretty sure that they couldn’t. He ran into the house bouncing up and down in excitement. Both his mama and papa were in the kitchen making dinner as he passed by them to get to the bathroom so he could wash his hands when his papa suddenly scooped him up from behind. He half heartedly tried to wriggle out of his papa's grasp.
“Papa! Let go! I gotta wash my hands” he squeaked happily. His papa. Hugged him tighter causing him to squeal louder and his mama to look over at them and smile.
“What, your old man can’t give his boy a hug?” Asked his papa teasingly. “Jin let him go wash his hands” said his mother from the kitchen causing both him and his papa to look at her with their mouths slightly ajar to which his mama snorted
“you are definitely your father’s son yuji”.
“Okay” he said, not really understanding what she meant nor caring enough to try. His papa chuckled softly before ruffeling his hair and putting him down. He shot towards the bathroom and scrubbed his hand until all of the dirt and grime was gone before making his way back to the kitchen and sitting down at the table.Once both his mama and papa were seated and all of the food was on the table he began to devour the food hungry from his day full of adventures.
“hey yuji you want to go into town with me tomorrow?" Asked his mama. He gave her a questioning look “i have to get some stuff for dinner tomorrow since your grandpa is coming over” she clarified. Yuji’s eyes lit up with excitement and he began jumping up and down in his seat.
“Of course I do!” He said excitedly before going back to munching on his food. His mama and papa both gave a soft laugh and he looked up at them giving them both a huge smile, the bandage on his cheek that covered a scratch that he had gotten crinkled along with his face as he gave that smile. He began to shove his face full of food until there was nothing left on his plate and then he sighed contently, belly full of love, happiness and food. His father came and grabbed his plate before giving him a small kiss on the forehead and putting the plate away. It was a good night full of love just like always.

When I think about it now it was quite foolish of me to believe that nothing bad would or could happen to me. Perhaps if I had known better then I would not have been so foolish as to believe that because nothing ever lasts forever.
