Work Text:
If Shu was being honest, he had been desperately trying to ignore all the Valentine's Day reminders. Long gone were the days of "get one for everyone in the class", which wasn't even a thing over here in Japan.
No, this was "get something for the boy you like" time. And. What was he supposed to get for someone as wonderful as one Hize Yuma?
"You okay, Shu?" Rin asked, giving him an obligation chocolate. "Can I assume you're here for not GDF reasons?"
Shu tried to glare at her, but it was hard when she was giving him one of those knowing looks.
"I am here for GDF reasons, actually," he replied stiffly. "We have reports we want you to read."
"Yeah, and that takes three seconds. And you didn't come with Yuma. Who lives with you. And that you could have given the reports to."
Under such a steady stream of logic, Shu didn't have a chance.
"Fine. I was wondering--"
"Of course I'll help. Hey Chief! We're gonna run over to a communal kitchen!"
"Hmm? Okay, I'll call if I need you. You'll leave YouPi to keep me company, right?"
"Yeah. Alright, let's go Shu. I got chocolate for you to make."
"What?"
"Shu-san!"
"You too Yuma. Let's go."
"Have fun," Chief Ban called, looking slightly wistful.
"Where are we going?" Yuma asked, glancing at the wrist Rin was holding.
"I bought chocolates you two could make for each other," Rin explained casually. "Really dark for Shu--like his soul--and milk for you, Yuma. I also reserved a spot at the local kitchen. I knew you two would be the usual otherwise."
"The usual?" Shu demanded, getting himself out of Rin's grip without body slamming her.
"Mmm...wishy-washy."
Shu was going to protest, but Yuma was an adorable shade of pink and it made him lose his train of thought.
