Till Death Do Us Part

Summary:

It's been 16 years since Cammi hatched from her egg. 16 years and no answers on who her father truly was. Why he left. This was her goal, to find her father. But for now she focuses on making her other father happy. Mr. Ant Tenna, the one and only. That was her goal, that was her job. The troubles she would be getting to would never be guessed. But that's all for the game isn't it?

Notes:

Cammi is made by the wonderful artist @/delicis_C on Twitter! (Hope I made her personality fitting enough)
I may only keep this to a oneshot, or a very short series, I'm not the most confident on finishing this. But I hope you enjoy it nonetheless.

Chapter 1: Unmistakable Genes

Chapter Text

There wasn’t much the young TV Ad remembered about TV World. She had only been an itty bitty baby when it was still up and running. All she remembered was living in the quiet little castle town. Bustling with all different types of darkeners from the three heroes closing dark worlds. This town was all she knew, but it was enough. She had her family, friends, and of course the internet to enjoy.

Cammi turned 16 today and it was finally time that she will be allowed to go out in town on her own to advertise her dad’s next show. He had chosen to not get a new lightener when she hatched from her egg not far after he himself arrived at castle town.

Usually when she went out to advertise she had to go with one of the Mikes, or in her fathers case “Mike”. She wasn’t sure how exactly he couldn’t tell apart three different people but she supposed it didn’t really matter.

She put on her vest suit and shiny pants all to match her father. Presentation was key as he said, and she took to heart. So she brushed her hair and used TV makeup to present her rosy cheeks. Then she grabbed her Add Pin and situated it on her chest, right above where her heart would be.

She then began to come out of her room to go within her father’s room to get a quick breakfast.

“Daddy! A quick breakfast will do! I want to get out there on the streets as fast as I can.” she said as Tenna just turned around and looked at her with a tad bit of sadness.

“Oh but my DARLING, I made all this WONDERFUL food for you!” Dismay could be heard within his static voice, the young ad reluctantly sat down and allowed her dear father to give her all the prepared food he had for her.

There were chocolate pancakes, bacon, eggs, toast, a few strawberries, and apple juice to drink. A well balanced meal for a growing Add.

“Now my darling, as you eat up your food, I wanted to remind you of a few things before you head out to advertise our upcoming show.”

Cammi rolled her eyes as she got an annoyed look from her father. “I want you to keep your cellphone on you at all times and call me or Mike if you need ANYTHING, stay safe and don’t talk to WEIRDOS in alleyways or just in general.”

This was all the standard over-bearing father stuff she got on the regular or just anytime she was going out, even if she had someone with her but she listened nonetheless. “And finally.. stay AWAY.. from those Addisons..”

Now that was something she still hasn't understood why. “I don’t understand why you don’t like the Addisons. I mean, aren't they ads just like me?”

The TV went silent for a moment as he grabbed all the dirty dishes and began to wash them.
“You're not like them. Not at all. You're so much better, so just listen to me for once and stay away from them.”

The serious tone in his voice made her shudder, it didn’t sound right coming from the dearly beloved dad she knew.

“I got it daddy, I’ll stay away from them..” She said reluctantly as her head went down.

Tenna would put the dishes he was washing down as he then took off the latex gloves before walking over to Cammi. He would then gently lift her head up as he gave her a small kiss on her forehead.

“Worry not SWEETHEART, I just want to keep you safe okay?..”

Though Cammi knew this as the truth, she still couldn’t understand why her father had so much hatred for the Addisons. Sure her father was a popup just like the Addisons but that didn’t mean all popup ads were bad.

After breakfast, she gave her goodbyes as she headed out to the center of Castle town. The town was bustling with different Darkener folks all around. And this is what she loved so much about Castle Town. But she didn’t come out of her little home to admire the town, she came to ADVERTISE!

And advertise she did. She went from corner to corner, popping up and getting people's attention with her popups. She truly did have a knack for advertising. She always wondered if it was from her other father. Then again, she didn’t have time to think of such things.

It was getting around the time she should be heading out, It was almost showtime and she would never hear the end of it if she was late to the stage. So she closed up her last add before she started to turn around to walk back to the Castle.

Till she suddenly bumped into something. Or rather, someone.

As she backed up and spilled out a few apologies, she suddenly realised who she had bumped into.

Blue Addison, the second eldest, of the Addisons.
“Oh!.. Your Mr. Tenna’s little one aren't you?” He said softly as he looked Cammi up and down, taking her looks in. Though something seemed to put him off.

“Ahah.. hello there.. Um..” She was stuck, stuck at this very moment unsure of what to say. No it would be fine. She means how would her father even find out if she spoke a few words to an Addison.

“Y-yes! I am. Cammi pip Tenna at your service!” She said as she held out her hand.

Blue would reluctantly take it. “Blue. My name is Blue”

“Yes I’ve heard about you..”

“You have??” He said with a surprised tone in his voice. “I didn’t know I was known around like that.”

“Ah.. I um.. I’m sure it's just a coincidence. Anyways I uh, better get going, I have a show to help host soon.” With that she quickly turned around and began off.

She wasn’t going to let anything stop her from getting out of the awkward interaction. Until she heard it..

“You look just like him..” He said, barely audible, but still within range to hear. She knew who he was talking about. It couldn't be anyone else. And she NEEDED to know how they knew him..

“You know him?..” She asked softly, there wasn’t any need for explanation on who she was talking about.

“Of course I do.. I’m his brother..”

How could she be so dumb, of course they were family. How could they not be, they looked so similar, from the noses, feathers, and eyes, to the hair on their heads. She was a spitting image (in a way) of them.

“Do you know where he is?..” That would be the first question, the first question she needed to ask.

“No.. I don't, sadly..” A dead end. Once again she reached a dead end. Perhaps it was for the best. Maybe she wasn’t meant to meet him…

No.

She wouldn't let this stop her. She needed to know; she needed the why and where her other father was. She saw how it continuously killed her dad everyday. She wasn’t going to give up. Not now, not ever.
