   Summary

   Vaggie's subordinates are close enough to interfere when Lute punishes Vaggie for sparing a sinner. They are more loyal to Vaggie than Lute, and they fight to protect their own. This leads to Lute being brutalized and left behind in Hell. Lute winds up in the care of Charlie Morningstar, and Vaggie finds herself captured, and eventually adopted, by the Carmine family.
