Work Text:
Wemmbu catches himself from falling as Lettuce pushes him back with a swing of his mace, allowing Ace to work quickly with Oroboros to seal the small passage even further. Wemmbu pulls his sword upwards towards Lettuce to counter his strike and re-balance himself. Ace pushes himself forward to block the attack as Lettuce steps back; his righthand dropping his mace in its holder as he pulls out his sword to prevent any unintended injuries to his commanders. Wemmbu dodges under the newly equipped Lettuce and backs up further down the shortened hallway.
Lettuce walks down the hall, he moulinets his sword, glaring at Wemmbu through his helmet, “You are going back to prison. You know that is where you belong.” Wemmbu glares at the caracal and catches his sword against Lettuce’s when he swings. Wemmbu slides his sword down to Lettuce’s pommel quickly before kicking Lettuce to the side, sending the cat stumbling to the side past Wemmbu and the purple man brings his sword to catch Ace’s next swing down at him. Lettuce stumbles into the wooden wall and glass behind Wemmbu that Ace had used to shrink the hall seconds before, a crack forming on the glass with a subtle cracking noise.
The armored cat hisses slightly as he pushes off the wall, turning quickly and shoulder checking Wemmbu into the spot he had just fallen into. Wemmbu stumbles and falls backwards into the oak and glass onto the ground, his sword up in a held parry for defense above his head, “Right, oh-!” Wemmbu scans the fight and area around him quickly, his tactical mind working on an escape from this situation. The glass crackles behind him, catching his attention as he holds off the assault from Lettuce, Ace, and now Oroboros with his sword, his arms shaking from the effort and the blade of his own sword cutting past the gauntlet on his hand. He can’t maintain this parry for much longer.
Wemmbu tests the cracked glass behind him with a slight adjustment of his elbow. Weak enough to break with one solid hit, but the Mining Fatigue is working against him. His mind works through a few more scenarios before he lets out a soft chuckle, unheard by his opponents above him. Wemmbu turns his full attention to the attacking Law men, watching each of their swings. He waits for the right gap before feinting with his sword as Lettuce swings, bringing the cat closer before Wemmbu forcefully kicks his chest plate causing him to stumble back. Ace replaces his leader with a quick sword strike down.
“Surrender!” Lettuce growls as he recovers his footing behind Ace, “Just surrender before you die in the middle of the Great Sea-!”
Wemmbu completely ignores Lettuce and moves the gap of his armor just enough for the next hit from Ace to land fatally on his side, causing an explosion of gold and green particles and the golden totem in his hand to melt into his body to help him to survive. Lettuce, Ace, and Oroboros quickly close their eyes to stop themselves from being blinded by the totem.
“It’s useless to, like-!” Ace growls, annoyed, shaking his head as he begins to recover.
Wemmbu takes that moment of hesitation from the three above him to full force smash his elbow through the cracked glass behind him, shattering it completely. He pushes himself backwards out of the window, quickly grabbing his trident in his newly opened left hand and launching himself out of the stone courtyard past the rest of the armored Law men. Lettuce and Ace both yell at something after him, that he promptly ignores.
‘Bruh, that was so bad.’ Wemmbu thinks to himself as he flies off towards the Pirate City, his Elytra unfolding from his armor.
