Parrot walks away from the allies gathered behind him as the bickering begins to increase, the long battle fresh on his mind and the uncertainty of the missing leader of Law hounding him. He picks his way through the rubble, feeling eyes on him from behind as he kicks pebbles out of his path.
“Congratulations, Parrot. The Righteous Hero.” Ash’s accented voice ghosts past his left shoulder as he walks in his clipped and controlled manner past the Avian, “What will you do now? You have all that power now in your hands. What will you do?” The purple masked man stays a few steps in front of Parrot as they keep walking across the bombed land.
“I don’t know.” Parrot whispers.
“Oh, come now, the man with all the plans! Search in that birdbrain of yours! What are your next steps forward?” Ash throws his arms up in a showboating way, turning and walking backwards, eyes burning into Parrot.
“He knows what he’s going to do next, he just wants to make sure it’s the right way to do things. He doesn’t want to become you or Lettuce.” A flat voice floats in from his right, Wifies saunters ahead of Parrot, his hands folded in the front pocket of his iconic hoodie. Parrot closes his eyes and breathes for a moment.
“Oh, come now, Wifies. We both know he won’t go that dark. If anything, he’d become like you.” Ash taunts the hoodie man. The Director’s armor flashes on the nonchalant man for a moment before disappearing.
“Maybe, but doubtful.” Wifies remarks, stepping to match Ash in front of Parrot. Parrot slows his steps until he is in line with the remains of the voting board, he keeps his eyes on the destroyed ground as he thinks. A million questions are running through his mind, and only a thousand answers reply.
“So, Righteous Hero, what kind of king will you be?” Ash asks, tilting his head as he stands with his arms behind his back in front of the board.
“What kind of king will you be, old friend?” Wifies echoes, leaning against the board, but his eyes boring into Parrot.
“What kind of king will I be?” Parrot hesitantly questions aloud, hugging his arms to his chest in a comforting manner.
An arm lands around his shoulders, startling the ghosts of the past into the air and the smaller Avian out of his thoughts, “The kind of king that the server deserves and needs. And if you start to step out of line, don’t you worry, the Biggest Bird will help you back!” Theo states confidently, squeezing his arm around the smaller Avian.
Parrot looks up to the bulkier Avian with a hesitant smile, “Thanks Theo. But we both know I am the Biggest Bird.”
“No, you are not.” Theo says, messing up Parrots hair before standing right again and redirecting Parrot’s shoulders back towards his friends and allies, “Now come on, let’s go watch the two idiots run their adrenaline out.”
“Yeah, yeah, alright, bro.” Parrot remarks, being dragged back towards the group, Minute and Spoke watching the two Avians return to the group.
The ghosts of the past long lost to the winds.
