Work Text:
Weeks aboard the Zariman didn't seem like much of a blur to them anymore. They were both anchoring each other to reality.
Business went as usual though, but now they had each other.
Drifter would routinely patrol the Zariman with Lyon by his side. They would look out for other factions, made sure the colony ship didn't experience Void Angels breaking the membrane or eating the Reliquary drive and lastly collected enough ambient energy for Drifter to feed on.
The days became more bearable, more warm and comforting despite the dreary and haunted halls of the Zariman.
Sometimes, Lyon would wander out on his own to gather materials and check out the ship. Those were the days where Drifter's Void infection was the worst.
He had scared The Holdfasts plenty of times, by accident of course. Now being labelled a cryptid. Fortunately for him, they realized he wasn't a hostile.
Drifter on the other hand, had become too much of a hermit since his change. The Holdfasts knew about him, but they only ever saw glimpses or if he was using Transference on Lyon.
On quiet days, they would lay in each others arms in the blanket nest Drifter had made prior. The Angel's arms snuggle around his chest and the extra set of voidly arms around his waist.
It was during moments like that where Lyon really missed having lips to kiss the other. The result would usually be a bump to the head, which would earn a quiet chuckle from the Angel.
In the end, nothing changed, not really. It was just like before, only they changed.. But their bonds never did.
