Work Text:
The first thing that made the entire staff of PTMC suspect that Robby and Jack were seeing someone together, a 3rd in their relationship of almost 20 years was when Jack suddenly mentioned something in the central hub to Robby while everyone was around them was,
“Hey, our golden boy made dinner before I left. He’s also baking some cookies as per my lovely request,” Jack smugly says with a stupid grin on his face. Robby laughed and raised his eyebrow.
”Wow, what made him finally do that for you?” Robby teasingly said and laughed again when Jack lightly slapped his shoulder.
“Because he loves me and I have such a sparkling personality,” Jack said and Robby rolled his eyes.
“Yeah right. Cookies are only made in our house by him when he’s feeling stressed. So it means when I get home,” Jack smirks and cuts off Robby.
“May God bless you,” Jack laughed and returned one of the tablets in the charging station.
Unbeknownst to them, their voices weren’t exactly hushed and since they didn’t mind speaking out such topics in an open space where all of the staff can hear them, they immediately started their interrogation.
“I’m sorry, golden boy? You have a third in your relationship?” Baran asked and Ellis smirked.
“Must be their joint mid-life crisis,” Ellis joked and laughed when Jack gave her the middle finger.
“He’s not a mid life crisis,” Robby placated and turned around to the staff, “He’s in it for the long run and we love him so please, no further questions.”
“Request denied,” Dana said, like a judge to a lawyer, and turned to the two, looking at them up and down with a stinky eye, “Why am I not informed of all of this? I’m your best friend.”
Jack and Robby look at each other before Jack clears his throat and begins speaking, “Okay because this is the first time we introduced a 3rd in our relationship. It’s been almost a year since we first started this and well, we’re happy and he’s happy. We love him and he loves us and you’ll get to meet him when he’s ready.”
“So, when is he ready?” Baran, a new addition to their friend group, asks with a teasing grin on her face.
“Um, he’s very busy lately so that is up to him,” Robby smiles politely, “Okay, day shift get out! Bye sweetie.” Robby says as he places a kiss on Jack’s lips.
PDA is something that both Robby and Jack don’t necessarily partake in. Most of the time new additions to the staff are immediately told that the two senior attendings are married because of how fast word gets out. Also, there have been instances where some new hires either downstairs or upstairs try to hit on them so might as well have it made public with their matching rings and brief kisses on the floor, all out in the open.
The staff doesn’t necessarily mind it, even going as far as calling them ‘Mom and Dad’ when they’re teasing the senior attendings. All courtesy of Dr. Santos who one day, 1 week into her intern year, goes up to them and says, “Hey mom and dad, I need a consult for this case,” And the nicknames stuck. It doesn’t necessarily help when Jack and Robby take in new hires like their own children.
“Bye dear,” Jack says with a gentle smile.
“Bye darling!” Baran exclaims with her teasing glint in her eyes and a teasing smile.
“Bye love! See you tomorrow!” Dana cackles at her own farewell.
Robby rolls his eyes playfully while Jack gets a laugh of his own, joining Dana and Baran. Robby waves at them as he walks out of the department and immediately goes home.
Dana on the other hand, after handing everything to Lena, the night shift nurse, she goes to Ahmad who is about to switch with the night shift security guard. Ahmad nods at her and smiles, “What can I do for you, Ma’am?” He asks and Dana smirks.
“New betting pool. Who is the 3rd in Robby and Jack’s relationship,” Dana says as she pulls out a 20 from her pocket.
Ahmad nods and clearly interested based on the smirk on his face, “Betting grid, first name, job and age?” Ahmad suggests and Dana gives him a thumbs up, clearly interested in the idea and Ahmad takes her 20 as it is extended to her.
“Maybe a classic white name since both of them are white men, let’s go for Aaron, barista and early 30s,” Dana makes her guess as Ahmad pulls out some papers from the whiteboard and starts with the making of the betting grid. Dana figures that those two don’t have much of a social life so a barista is a good guess.
“Alright, Ma’am, got it,” Ahmad says as he writes on the sticky notes and nods to the other people who are already watching Ahmad starting the betting grid.
“Nice guesses, D,” Trinity says as she pulls out 50 from her wallet, “I’d go for Leo, their sugar baby so he’s broke and then early 20s,” Trinity smirks and looks at the amused and judging looks of the staff around her.
“Really?” Langdon says and Trinity shrugs.
“Some people are into bears or something, I don’t know man, both of them are so mysterious,” Trinity says and Ahmad takes the bet and writes it down immediately, sticking it to the grid as he takes in more guesses.
”I’d run it for my househusband or something. Maybe Liam. You have got to see the amount of times they’re now going to work with a full balanced meal. Mid 30s,” Ellis says, handing over a 20. She remembers how Jack used to just go to work with anything and now she’s seeing that Jack has a full lunch box with equal portions of each food group.
“I’d take it for the househusband too,” Baran says and pulls out a 50, “I’d go for Dennis and maybe late 20s,” She continues as she smiles, thanking Ahmad who accepts the money and writes it also down.
“Maybe chef if he can do all of that,” Shen sips into his iced coffee. “Put me for Jamie, chef and late 30s.” Shen hands over a 50 to Ahmad into the betting pool.
As the days go by, more and more bets are placed into the new betting pool. There are some who switch bets which are 10 dollars for each change in each category. Soon after, almost everyone has a bet placed with varying guesses which are more and more absurd but more and more money comes in which has accumulated in the thousands.
Even Robby and Jack are made aware of the betting pool, the staff finds Robby and Jack standing in front of the betting pool with neutral faces as they read through all of the bets, just so they don’t give anything away.
“Interesting bets people,” Jack says, especially when his eyes see the sugar baby bet made by Santos but he doesn’t comment nor does his expression change.
“Boo, you’re no fun if you’re not saying anything,” Samira says and Robby rolls his eyes while Jack snorts a laugh.
“That’s called cheating, Dr. Mohan,” Jack says and Samira rolled her eyes.
“I got like 60 riding on it,” Samira said as she pointed to her bets; John, architect, mid 30s.
”No one forced your hand,” Robby said with a teasing grin and Samira rolled her eyes.
“The moment I was about to bet, the pool was like almost a thousand bucks. Might as well, right?” Samira smiled and Robby rolled his eyes. “Come on! Parker had her eye on this really nice pair of shoes and I kinda wanna surprise my girlfriend, is that so bad?”
Jack snorts, “Win it fair and square, Mohan.” Jack said as he patted her shoulder. “Now go, do your hand offs with your girlfriend.” Jack shoos her away and she grumbles. Robby watches this with a fond expression and Jack leans his hand on Robby’s shoulder who lets out a pleased hum.
“How did our lovely boy react when he found out about this betting pool?” Jack asked Robby who huffs out a laugh.
“He said that if we win, he’s expecting an expensive meal ahead of him,” Robby said and Jack smiled against his shoulder. “He’s so stressed lately. Italy is right around the corner,” Robby lowly whispers and Jack sighs.
“Yeah, I know. I just let him have it when he’s stressed but you know him, he’s known for his mental fortitude,” Jack smiles as he remembered how Dennis, their addition to the relationship, has been doing for the past few months to make sure that his mental health is the strongest the closer Italy is.
“At least he qualified, right?” Robby quietly said and laughed, remembering how happy they were when he was qualified to make it to the Olympics as one of the more seasoned veterans in the sport when he reached gold in the 2025 world championships.
They were just courting Dennis when the 2025 world championship for figure skating happened. Robby and Jack remembered being at home, watching the event and being in glee when Dennis was in the kiss and cry room where it was revealed that he was placed first. Their lovely boy Dennis did come home, taking a red eye flight after the event, to Pittsburgh where he was lovingly kissed and hugged by Robby and Jack in glee.
Dennis smiles at them and sobs, “God, I wished you were there with me when it all happened.” That was the moment where Dennis tells them that, while in the kiss and cry room, while his family lovingly congratulated him, he just wanted Jack and Robby there with him. It was a beautiful confession added to a beautiful event and Jack and Robby couldn’t be more glad to take him in.
“I bet. He’s working his ass off but hasn’t said a single word on what his performance is,” Jack huffs in fake annoyance, “Hiding the free skate and short program from our eyes, wonder why.” Robby places a kiss on Jack’s head and smiles.
“Don’t know with him but let’s just be there to support, yeah?” Robby says as he lovingly pats his husband’s waist. “Now go, you have a night shift to attend to and I have a lovely boy to attend to.” Robby, even when tired after his shift, usually is the one who makes sure that Dennis does all of his routines to ice and rest his body after a day of training.
“Have fun, love,” Jack places a kiss on Robby’s lips and waves at Robby as he exits the security office.
⛸️
“What made you realize you needed a third?” Baran asks Robby and Robby raises an eyebrow.
Both of them are now charting side by side before the night shift comes. Baran, although having a strong first impression when she first came in to relieve Robby while he’s on sabbatical almost a year ago, finds her fun to be with and is very happy that she finds herself welcome in their little friend group with his husband and Dana. She eventually did transfer to PTMC, much to the glee of Gloria.
“We didn’t know we needed it. We just found him and we found ourselves hooked,” Robby said, not wanting to say anything else that will give her the edge in the betting pool. “It took a while but we courted him, he said yes and here we are now.”
“Mhm,” Baran simply nodded and Robby looked at her. “Sorry if it was a weird question, I was just curious,” Baran smiled and Robby’s lip curled up.
“Yeah, it was whiplash when it happened. But we don’t regret it and he’s very happy in our relationship,” Robby said as he sighed, closing a finished chart and standing up. “By the way, Abbot and I are taking the entire week of Valentine’s Day off. We’re going on a trip.” Robby smiled and Dana’s eyes lit up, looking back at them, obviously eavesdropping.
“Wow, the two of you actually taking a week off?” Dana smirked, “Looks like you having that golden boy of yours is actually doing you two some good.” Dana says as he walks in closer.
It was actually surprising of Dennis to ask if they can get the week off so that both Jack and Robby can be there in the side lines watching him. He needed the support and both of them are more than happy to give it. But, Dennis did say that he needed them both more in the free skate portion which lands on Valentine's Day, he actually wanted them both on the side of the rink, in the kiss and cry and in the green room. But for the short program, he wanted them both behind the scenes which is alright for the two doctors.
It was actually a surprise too when Dennis asked both of them if they were comfortable in the cameras, which means that the hidden meaning is, “Would you want for our relationship to be public?” In all honesty, Jack and Robby would love a quieter life but if this is something that Dennis wanted to get out, especially when Jack and Robby are lovingly approved by his family back in Nebraska, then they were more than happy to do so.
“Yeah, we already told Gloria who was actually more than grateful that we aren’t here,” Robby jokes and Dana laughs out loud.
“Oh yeah, she needs this too, we all need this,” Dana said and pats his shoulder. “So, a month from now? We got this, go and enjoy your first valentines with your golden boy.” Dana said.
“Oh yeah, don’t worry. We’ve got this,” Baran sweetly smiles at them and Robby is relieved.
“Hey brother,” Jack, 30 minutes before his shift, enters the department and walks to Robby, giving him a soft kiss on his shoulder. “You ready for hand-offs?”
“Always,” Robby smiles and nods to the two women, “Make sure the rest are catching up with charts and starting hand offs.”
“On it, Cap!” Dana says as she readies for her own hand-offs.
⛸️
“What time are you leaving?” Langdon asks and Robby looks at him.
“Uhh we’re leaving tomorrow afternoon hopefully,” Robby said as he makes sure that the board is at least decent before he leaves for the shift.
“And, you’re going to where?” McKay decides to join in the conversation and he can see Perlah and Princess staring at them with intrigue despite hiding it under the guise of charting.
“Europe leg, Italy first then hopefully landing in France by the end of the week,” Robby replies. It wasn’t exactly a lie. They’re really going to Italy for the majority of the trip and getting some hours in Paris. It was one of the sights that Robby and Jack have been wanting to see and they’re glad that they’re spending it with Dennis regardless or not if he gets into the podium.
“Yikes, Italy? Isn’t that where the Winter Olympics are going to be?” Victoria comes up as she returns a chart. “Good luck, the entire country is going to be packed.”
Robby knows that it’s best if he doesn’t show anything but surprise, like some old man who doesn’t keep up with recent times, “What?” He acts shocked and runs his hands over his face. “Holy fuck, we planned so bad for this.”
“What? Your boyfriend didn’t inform you?” Trinity asks and Robby sighed.
“It’s a surprise trip so he doesn’t even know where we’re going. He just knows that it’s going to be really cold,” Robby grumbled. If Jack and Dennis were here now, they’d say that he’s a good actor judging by how well he’s making it seem that he’s annoyed at the recent information given to him.
“Good luck, Cap,” Dana just laughs at his expense, “First grand gesture and it’s going to be shit.”
“Wow, thanks for your faith in me,” Robby mocks her and she just shrugs.
“Can’t you just, I don’t know, go to other parts of Europe?” Samira asks and Robby gets whiplash at how fast people are now crowding him.
Robby sighs, “Maybe. Switzerland and Austria may be good places too, no?” Robby says and Trinity nods.
“Maybe, those are good places. Or Amsterdam, that’s good too!” Mel says with a smile on her face.
“Or Germany if you want to get drunk,” Victoria says and Robby snorts.
“Javadi, I’m Jewish,” Robby joked and she looked absolutely mortified.
The rest of the staff who knew that Robby is Jewish started to stifle a laugh at the sudden turn of events. Robby just waved his hand to dismiss it and fondly looked at the now MS4, “It was a joke, don’t worry and we’re not planning for Germany.”
“But, I might as well try and do some last minute changes for the trip, making sure we try to avoid Italy during most of it. Might check if a hotel in France has a room,” Robby contemplated even if he won’t do that at all when he gets home.
“Good luck with that, now everyone catch up with charting, go!” Dana says and everyone scrambles to finish their charts before the night shift arrives. ”Have fun on your trip, god knows both of you need it with your lovely boy,” Dana says and plants a firm hand on his shoulder.
“We will, we’re very excited,” Robby smiles and gets back to ready himself for handover.
⛸️
“Hi baby,” Robby says as both him and Jack enter his waiting room, away from all the cameras. “You doing good?”
“Yeah,” Dennis exhales with a smile, running to the both of them to plant a kiss on both of their lips while Jack settles his face on the crook of the skater’s neck, inhaling such sweet scent of vanilla and lavender against his skin, “Just a bit nervous but it’s normal and I got this.”
The day of the short program comes. It comes first on the 11th and while Dennis stays in the village, Robby and Jack get to stay in a hotel with a nice room near the event hall. Luckily enough, Dennis’ team had booked good rooms in the hotel and Robby and Jack had made good time with Dennis’ family who were so excited for their youngest son.
Robby and Jack were just grateful that they’re the type of rural and farm family who was more open minded and very supportive of everyone regardless of who and what they are. They welcomed Robby and Jack with open arms, especially since they now had some doctors in the family.
“We’ll be watching from here, okay? You’re going to be the best,” Jack hypes up his skater who laughed.
And the best did Dennis become.
First place for the short program.
It was a beautiful program, as always.
“Dennis Whitaker from the USA is now placed at the first of the men’s singles program! A whopping score of 110.02 has been earned which is many points away from the second place! Are we going to see Dennis Whitaker get back to back gold for the 2026 Olympics? Will this be the first back to back gold for this decade?” An announcer said as Dennis broke down in joy in the kiss and cry, being hugged by his coach and manager.
“Looks like we’ll see if Dennis Whitaker will go higher from his previous gold from the 2022 Olympics which was 270.51. I really am looking forward to Dennis this season as he started his program with a bang!”
Dennis continues to cry from joy, he can actually feel himself trembling and shaking from the adrenaline and joy that he’s feeling. He’s so glad to finally have the first half of this competition go his way. He’s itching to go to Robby and Jack but he knows that he has to make some sort of appearance first for the public.
“He had landed all of his jumps and of course, the quad god will never disappoint. But we did see that he invested more in spins which was something he never did 4 years ago, no? The perfect routine with perfect jumps, we are excited to see what he has prepared for us on the 14th!”
Dennis, after making face with the rest of the competitors and his team, ran immediately to the waiting room with his skates and blades still on, into the arms of his boyfriends.
“Denny!” Robby catches Dennis as soon as Dennis jumps towards them with still fresh tears and a flushed face, “We’re so proud of you! Congratulations!” Robby also had tears of joy in his eyes as he hugged his boy tight.
“That was such a beautiful skate, lovely boy, we were holding our breaths the entire time!” Jack let out a wide grin, obvious that he was also crying because of his wet cheeks and red rimmed eyes. “Oh how beautiful, we know you’ve got it in the bag for this season.”
Dennis knows he has a strong metal fortitude which is why it is hard for his competitors to break him down. But Dennis thinks that the majority of the reason why he’s strong enough to face such things is because of the two men who are holding him tight, and sharing the win with him.
⛸️
”Can we turn the channel to the Olympics?” Princess asked Dana, who was in the central hub, “Apparently, Dennis Whitaker, he’s rumored to be placed in the figure skating single’s program!” Princess squealed in excitement.
“Oh yeah! I saw his previous performance and it was amazing! Can we, D?” Trinity asks, mirroring the excitement of the nurse.
Dana rolls her eyes and waves them off, “Go ahead then.” She doesn’t really follow sports or the Olympics for that matter but knowing that their country might win gold in a category just bloomed a sense of pride in her heart.
Princess then cheers and immediately switches the channel and it lands to the live viewing for the Olympics. Dana is just glad that it is a little slow and everyone is caught up so she lets most of the staff to watch the Olympics by central.
“Now, we’re expecting Dennis Whitaker from the USA to start his free skate. Even though he’s the last, he said that he’s not worried and he hopes that his message from his free skate comes across all the viewers who are watching the Olympics,” A male announcer said and his partner continued.
“It seems like Dennis Whitaker is also very vague on his free skate. He simply said that the message is something important in his heart as well as those he loves the most. He hopes that his hard work in the program can capture that beautiful message that he wants to portray.”
Almost everyone, even the night shift who came in early to join them for this viewing (1 hour early) is watching the Olympics with nerves in their spine even if the majority of them don’t even follow it. But the idea of this figure skater winning gold is something that they will treasure because they get to see it live.
“And here comes, Dennis Whitaker!” An announcer yells as Dennis enters the rink and does some practice rounds.
Dennis was wearing a costume which has blue and white streaks, but there are some random spots where it’s red. It’s not flashy but it has some sequins etched in the majority of the costume. They can also see that there are some red parts in Dennis’ hands as it is a long sleeve costume. And he seems to be wearing some sort of gloves with some splashes of red.
“He’s now called the quad god because he is not afraid to take risks in terms of his jumps and always lands them perfectly. Young 27 year old Dennis Whitaker from the USA! And he’s also determined to at least make the podium for this year, hopefully to make a back to back gold!” The announcer yells out as the camera pans to a golden haired boy with blue eyes skating around the rink as warm up.
“Wow, he’s cute!” Kim says as she smiles. Some nods from the staff meant that they also agree that Dennis is very attractive.
They can see Dennis going to the side of the rink and having a serious conversation with what seems to be his coach, “A few words from his coach before the program and Dennis Whitaker, with his iron mental fortitude has no nervousness seen in his face but he is the last skater so everyone is on the edge of their seats.”
“And it seems for the first time ever, we see Dennis’ partners supporting him from the side lines!”
“Holy shit!”
”Is that Robby and Abbot?!”
“What the fuck?!”
Everyone is now focused on television. They see Dennis with a small smile on his face as he exchanges some words with his partners, the said partners being their bosses. Robby has a stupid grin on his face as he continues to place kisses on Dennis’ head while Jack, with also a stupid smitten grin, continues to yap with Dennis, placing sweet kisses on Dennis’ knuckles in his hands.
On the screen, as the camera zooms into that interaction between the 3 men, it lets out two captions that cause the staff of the emergency room to freak out.
‘Dr. Michael Robinavitch, Emergency Medicine Physician, Dennis Whitaker’s Partner’
’Dr. Jack Abbot, Emergency Medicine Physician, Dennis Whitaker’s Partner’
“It seems like this free skate is actually dedicated to his partners as both of them are physicians in the emergency department! Such a lovely moment, no wonder Dennis Whitaker is determined to skate this program with grace and determination!”
“Holy fuck,” Trinity continues to watch with wide eyes, especially when he sees Dennis giving a sweet kiss to both Robby and Jack who had their permanent smitten smile on their faces.
“Seems like no one won the full parley,” Ahmad yells from his security office as he folds the cash in his hands, almost 3000 dollars in it filled with money from bets and switches but no one hit Dennis, figure skater and full time 1 Olympic champion, and mid 20s.
“Fuck and the rich get richer,” Samira curses, knowing that she just lost 60 instead of getting it back.
They now see Dennis pulling away and taking center stage and hitting a pose. There was a moment of silence and there was a brief moment where it pans to Robby and Jack who were watching with smiles on their faces as they watched their golden boy starting his free skate.
“According to Dennis Whitaker, this free skate is highly dedicated to those in the front lines, the doctors, nurses, respiratory therapists, all of them who worked in health care and suffered but survived from the global pandemic that hit us just a few years ago.” An announcer says as soon as Dennis starts his routine.
“And we are expecting at least 5 quad jumps from Dennis Whitaker and he hopes yet also knows that he can land them perfectly. He did get shy when people called him the Quad God but it seems like he’s still competitive enough to prove himself to that nickname!” The announcer says as Dennis continues to dance.
In all honesty, the program was beautiful.
All the staff can’t help but remember their moments from the pandemic, Dana had started to tear up slightly but cooly wipes them in hopes that no one notices and yet Princess lightly attaches her hip to the charge nurse as a means of comfort.
Blue and white shining from head to toe that is bright yet humble, red splashes on numerous uncontrolled parts of his outfit and his hands especially depicts the number of people that they have lost and his hair all tussled with less make up shows the true nature of the profession.
Dennis lands each of his jumps with perfection, each landing causes more and more cheers and applause to come through, his expressions are a mix of sadness yet determination, the exact same feeling that all of them have gone through in the moments of crisis.
At random times, the camera pans to Robby and Jack who have tears in their eyes yet small smiles on their faces as they continue to watch Dennis. It was no wonder that Dennis didn’t want to spill the beans, it was because it was all for them.
“All jumps landed! All jumps landed perfectly!” The announcer yells out as Dennis lands the final jump of his program, now resorting to his spins which are his specialty.
Dennis continues to do his skate. Each and every one of the staff, now knowing that he’s not only a possible future Olympic champion, but also the lover of their married bosses, watch with held breath as the program ends. Majority of them, especially those who have been in the thick of the darkness from the pandemic, have tears in their eyes or rolling down their cheeks as they are moved from the program.
Dennis ends his skate kneeling on one knee with his hand in his chest as if bowing down to the healthcare workers that have served in the front lines. Cheers and applauses echo both in the arena and in the emergency department as the skate finishes.
The camera pans to Dennis getting thrown his flowers from the audience as well as some snoopy plushies, while Dennis breaks down in tears of joy in the middle of the ice. Dennis reaches into his costume and takes out a necklace, as the camera zooms in, it shows dog tags and a Star of David gold necklace being pressed into the skater’s lips with glee.
Dennis airs a fist in the air for a job well done to himself and immediately skates to the side of the rink where Robby and Jack are waiting with wide grins and tears running down their faces.
The camera follows them the entire time. Showing Dennis immediately jumping in their arms and hugging them tight while the two attendings hold him tight, placing gentle kisses over his hair and face for a job well done. Dennis has tears running down his face as he continues to wrap his arms around his boyfriends who hold him as long as he wants them to.
“Holy fuck, Denny, you are amazing,” Jack sobs into his hair as he continues to press kisses and Dennis chokes a laugh out. “It’s so beautiful, you’re so beautiful, god we fucking love you.”
Robby, who had the brunt of it all with his mentor’s death, keeps quiet but Dennis knows that he can also say the exact same words if he can. Dennis grabs Robby’s face and presses his lips, deep into Robby who sighs in relief but smiles as he continues to kiss the skater back.
Dennis pulls away to do the exact same to Jack who immediately reciprocates with glee. Dennis laughs out loud as he pulls away from the kiss and continues to be held by Robby and Jack. But the moment Dennis sees his parents and brothers, Robby and Jack let him be held by his family, but is eventually pulled in by Dennis’ father and mother to join in the hug.
“Seems like this relationship is Whitaker family approved,” Trinity says as she watches Robby and Jack being pulled into the celebratory huddle with glee.
“They’re perfect, no?” Baran says as she wipes the tears from her eyes and the rest simply nod as they continue to look at the screen with fond expressions.
When hand offs are done, the day shift still stays to watch Dennis and his place for the Olympics. Dennis is seated in the kiss and cry with his coaches as they wait for the final computation of his score. Robby and Jack are seen to be just beside, holding each other’s hands tight as they wait in the tense air now very much present in the arena.
“And Dennis Whitaker takes the gold for the second time with a total score of 330.52! A beautiful performance dedicated to healthcare front liners all across the nation wins a back to back gold for the USA in figure skating men single’s program! A feat that has never been accomplished before and is now ranked the highest total score in all of Olympics history!”
Dennis drops down to his knees, crying as he is now announced as the Olympic Champion, taking in the gold medal for his country and will be the highest in the podium. Dennis is held by his coaches and the camera pans to Robby and Jack who tightly hug each other, exchanging kisses in glee and tears running down their eyes as they take in the new celebration and victory of their special boy.
The camera still follows Dennis as he goes to the green room after being congratulated by his fellow skaters, his family in tears and his coaches all proud. But, Robby and Jack takes him out of the green room to give him a hug together with Dennis sharing the victory with his boyfriends.
“Much deserved our dear boy, we are so so proud of you,” Jack sternly says and Dennis smiles widely at him while Robby wraps his arms around Dennis who relishes in the embrace, “You are truly our golden boy, the golden boy of our country.” Jack kisses Dennis who happily kisses back.
“You are a force of fucking nature, baby,” Robby says with a broken voice which makes Dennis tear up, “Thank you, for that performance. It was so beautiful.”
Dennis smiles as he rests his palms on each of the men’s cheeks who immediately leans into the touch, “All for you, this win, is all for you. I’m honored to make a beautiful performance from your story.”

Headline: Olympic Champion in Figure Skating, Dennis Whitaker, comes out as gay and polyamorous in recent Olympic events during the free skate!
Figure skater, Dennis Whitaker, 27, and a two time Olympic Champion comes out as gay and polyamorous on February 14, 2026 as his two boyfriends come to support him in the sidelines. Dennis and his two boyfriends are seen on live sharing intimate kisses and words prior to his free skate and a celebratory kiss once his win has been announced.
When interviewed, Dennis Whitaker is asked about his relationship with the two doctors. “I met them when I changed my base rink. It was just a simple coffee and dinner that was offered to me and I gladly enjoyed it. They spent months courting me and when I won the World Championship in 2025, I took the red eye flight back home and immediately told them I wanted to be in a relationship with them.”
“It’s not all unicorns and rainbows especially when I train almost all days of every week leading up to the Olympics. They also work 12 hour shifts in the emergency department and it can be hard to get a day or even a few hours where the three of us are together. One of them works the day shift and the other the nights. But we came to a really good routine where we do our own things and maybe leave some for the others. Like when I’m home, I actually meal prep for myself since I’m an athlete so I include the both of them too. These things still remind us that hey, I’m not being left out, I’m loved and we’re right here for you.”
When asked about what it feels like in a polyamorous relationship, Dennis laughs before responding, “I think it’s all not that different. People think it’s confusing but all three of us love each other equally and that’s it. There’s no need to do more just because they’re in a relationship before I came in, I’m reassured and I do my part. It’s any other relationship out there and the only thing that’s different is that there’s three of us and I won’t change a thing about it.”
Dennis is happy about his win and is happy to finally share the spotlight with his boyfriends. The age gap doesn’t seem to pose a problem especially when Dennis says, “Oh I’m into older men. I hunted them for sport, I really did want them when I first saw them and luckily, they wanted me back,” He says as he jokes about hunting the old men for sport.
Considering the timeline of their relationship, when he was asked about his future plans, Dennis responds with, “Well, when I met them I was training for World Championships and the honeymoon period actually wasn’t there because I was so focused on the Olympics, immediately training. That’s the similarities for the three of us, we’re workaholics,” Dennis laughs as he continues, “But, I might take some time off for the moment to just enjoy, us, this relationship. I am sure for now that the Olympic 2030 is something I want to go to but for now, I really want to enjoy my life with the two men I love most in the world.”
“I’m just glad that they’re very supportive and took the time off to actually go here and support me by the side rink when I asked. It was something I planned, all of this is for them. I even had their necklaces worn the entire time because all of this was for them, a new chapter was them and I can see it. I’m just, really itching for that honeymoon period because it does seem like it’s overdue at this point of the relationship.”
When asked more about their relationship, he simply says, “I want this to be private. I only did make them come out was because I wanted the world to know that they mean the world to me but it doesn’t mean I’m always going to showcase it. I want them to be comfortable in their own life and they now know they might be recognized maybe by my fans in the future but they’re fine with that. But the other things, that’s for the three of us and I am so happy with them so that’s an assurance and a polite reminder to fans of mine.”
As the questions come to a close, Dennis Whitaker finds some closing words before parting, “This all, is new and I’m just glad that I can continue to tell a story in my performances. I now have a new story to tell and more in the future. The future might change but the constant for me right now is the both of them and that will stay the same no matter what. I can quit being a competitive skater, I can teach, I can do all of these things but I’ll still love them and stick by them no matter what.”
Dennis Whitaker has now found a new life as he continues to go with his new accomplishments and additions in both his personal and professional career. Rest assured that the world is rooting for you and your successes. Congratulations, Dennis Whitaker! You have made your country proud.

“Is this really how you want to meet him? In his base rink?” Robby asks as he welcomes the rest of the staff in front of Dennis’ base rink in Pittsburgh. Jack snorts beside him and opens the door for all of them. “Can you guys even skate?”
“I’m sorry but can you skate?” Trinity emphasizes and Robby rolls his eyes.
“Not as amazing as Dennis but yes,” Robby says.
“He and I used to skate in our first few dates, so we know how to skate. It’s like a holiday tradition so every year we go here. It’s how we met Dennis when he transferred his base rink,” Jack informed them as they all walked to get some shoes in the locker room. “He’s already at the rink. A week after Olympics and he still has adrenaline so he’s taking it off the rink.”
“Because both of you can’t handle it in bed?” Parker teases as she takes her skates, laughing.
Jack flicks her on her forehead which she lets out a curse, “Behave, all of you.”
“By the way, they reserved the entire rink for the day for you all so behave, literally,” Robby reminds everyone as he puts in his own skates. He watches as everyone also puts on their skates on before heading to the rink.
“Hey, Robby and Jack!”
Robby smiles as a petite woman enters the locker room, “Guys, this is Crystal Seaver. Our silver medalist in the women’s singles in the Olympics.” Robby introduces her to the rest of the doctors and nurses who gladly wave at her in introduction.
“Hey guys, sorry if I’m intruding but I am one of those who need to take the adrenaline off,” She smiles widely as she puts her bag in her locker and then immediately puts on her skates. “You know, Dennis is already thinking of concepts for a new program. Sounds really good but it’s still a concept.”
“He hasn’t mentioned anything?” Jack says and Crystal laughs.
“Oh yeah he doesn’t like jinxing. It’s a whole thing he told me recently and I’m actually excited to see how he comes across it,” Crystal says as she puts on her blades. “It’s like he has an idea but he won’t tell anyone what the final concept is before he can decide on something. He wants full control of it.”
“Wow a control freak, very much our two bosses here,” Dana claps their backs simultaneously with a smug smile on her face despite the glares of the two senior attendings. “Shall we go and meet your golden boy?”
“I’ll join you guys later, I need some warm up,” Crystal smiles at them and Jack smiles back at her. “Have fun everyone! And be careful if some of you don’t know how to skate!”
“Like our dear crash here,” Trinity points out and Victoria immediately slaps her in the back.
“Shut up!” Victoria said in a hush tone despite the amused looks of the rest of the staff.
“Don’t worry, you can hold someone’s hand if they’re willing,” Trinity smiles and Robby rolls his eyes fondly.
As they walk to the rink, each and every single one of them hears the clinking of blades and the ice as it meets. They see Dennis attempting jumps all alone in the rink, all landing them perfectly, no sequence whatsoever; simply gliding through the ice and then attempting a jump right after.
Dennis looked absolutely graceful with his skates. It was like he was light as air whenever he jumped and landed, the cameras actually did him justice with his golden blond hair, expressive blue eyes, impressive jumps, slender but not too much muscle, and very graceful on the ice.
“Dennis!” Jack yells as they walk into the rink, making Dennis turn to the staff with a bright smile.
“Good morning, everyone,” Dennis goes to greet them, staying on the ice and resting his arms on the railing. Dennis smiles at them sweetly. “It is very nice to meet you all. Michael and Jack have said many good things about you all.”
“Michael,” Baran teasingly calls out.
“Jack,” Shen seconds it.
“Hey sweetie, congratulations by the way. We’re all so proud of you,” Dana said with a kind smile.
“Thank you, Dana. No need for introductions, I do know all of your names and faces. They talk, a lot,” Dennis says and turns to the two old men who are merely watching the interaction with fond smiles. “Michael, Jack.” Dennis greets them as he places a brief kiss on both of them.
“Irritatingly cute,” McKay calls out and Dennis huffs out a laugh, very much music to the old men’s ears. “Shall we skate?” She says as she perfectly lands in the ice and makes a little glide.
“Is there anyone here who can’t skate?” Dennis asks and Trinity pushes Javadi to the front who flushes under the gaze of everyone, clearly embarrassed. “No worries, I’ll just be near you just in case.”
Dennis wasn’t kidding or taking it lightly when he said that he’ll always be near. It also seemed that Mel and Samira didn’t skate much so they were pretty off balance most of the time. At one point, Dennis held Mel’s hands and just skated all around. Her squeals and cheers following that were heard through the entire rink. It was as if Mel was treating Dennis her own personal skater who took her around.
Robby and Jack weren’t kidding when they said that they can skate. They can skate, the only thing they couldn’t do was the jumps. They were gliding freely through the ice with ease and can control their movement. It seemed like the first few dates from college and the yearly visits in the rink have done them well.
It was actually a shock to everyone, making them verbalize their own shock at how at ease the two were at the rink. It made them reminisce as they catch up with Dennis who proceeds to skate with them, glide and exchange kisses with heartfelt love in their eyes.
“You two were good out there. I was scared that one of you was going to fall,” Jack and Robby’s head shot up to the voice only to see a young gentleman with blond hair and blue eyes smiling at them.
Jack and Robby have seen him, attempting jumps and flips the entire time that they have been there. Robby and Jack have been going to this rink since their college days so it was a shock to find someone with actual skill to perform those techniques. They’re a regular in this rink and this is the first time that they’re seeing this man.
“We go here ever since. We have some experience, kid,” Jack smiles politely and the man chuckles, waving it off.
“Sorry, it’s my first time here so I’m a bit cautious with people I skate with,” The man says as he leans in the railing separating the side lines and the ice rink. “Sorry, forgot to introduce myself. Dennis Whitaker, I just moved here like 2 weeks ago.”
“I’m Michael Robinavitch, just Robby is fine and this is my husband, Jack Abbot,” Robby introduces himself and Jack, and Dennis smiles.
“That’s sweet for the both of you to go skating here from time to time,” Dennis said and Jack can’t help but stare at his bright blue eyes that dart between him and Robby from time to time. “The rink is so much like home to me so I’m glad that a lot of people are enjoying it. There’s more people enjoying the rink here than in Nebraska. It’s very endearing.”
“Oh, you’re from the Midwest? What made you go here?” Jack asks and Dennis turns to him. Jack feels his breath hitch at the sweet grin that Dennis displays at them. One look from Jack to Robby also gives him the conclusion that Robby feels the same as Robby can’t help but be hypnotized at Dennis’ sweet smile.
“My trainer and coach moved here. They’re married so I had to join them so that I won’t go through the hassle of finding a new trainer and coach,” Dennis informs and Robby nods as he takes in the information.
“You skate as a professional?” Robby asks and Dennis nods.
‘Yeah, figure skating. In singles. I can’t do the pairs if I’m being honest because I can be a little control freak with my work,” Dennis informs them and Jack nodded, taking in the information. “How about you?”
”We’re doctors. In Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center. Emergency medicine physicians.” Jack informs him and Dennis’ eyes brighten.
“Oh wow! I live close by so my PCP is there. It’s nice to know that I have very nice doctors if I do need to go to the emergency room,” Dennis makes a little joke and Robby laughs.
“Yeah and make sure to give us a good patient satisfaction score if you get there,” Jack smirks as he answers with a joke, but it gives a confused look from Dennis. “We have, low ratings from patients there. And our boss is hounding us constantly for it.”
Dennis raises an eyebrow and Robby and Jack thought that Dennis is weirded out by this specific fact but his response gives a different feeling, “It’s an emergency room. What do they expect?” Dennis smiles, as if humored and surprised that people are actually mad that people are doing their jobs.
Jack can feel the smile growing on his face as he hears this, he makes eye contact with Robby who is also feeling the same attraction but doesn’t say anything. The benefits of being married for almost a decade means that at some point, you have telepathic communication.
“Can we buy you a drink afterwards? If you’re not planning to stay up here late practicing?” Jack immediately offers and he can feel the panicked energy of Robby, fearing that they’re going too fast.
They have never taken in a 3rd regardless if it’s a serious relationship or for sex. But it seems like both of them are feeling something for Dennis that they can’t understand. Jack takes the leap anyway, they don’t know if they’ll see Dennis again with how hectic their schedules as doctors are and how unpredictable a practice schedule is for a competitive figure skater.
Dennis looks shocked but the corner of his lip curled upwards in amusement, “I prefer dinner. Dinner is more serious and drinks are for a one time thing.”
‘Do you want me to be a one time thing or do you also see something even if I just met you now?’
That’s the hidden meaning that the two married men immediately catch on from such a casual statement. Dennis is giving them a choice and he makes his peace based on less than 5 minutes of interaction. Jack, the one who is most likely to pick up nervous cues, can see Dennis picking his fingernails at his sides.
“Dinner then. After this?” Robby speaks up which shocks Jack. Robby just smiles at the both of them and Dennis nods, his smile is growing, not even bothering to hide it.
“I’ll meet you here on the sidelines then.”
