Summary
Herta and Ruan Mei attend Nous University together. A grand research-focused university, attracting thousands across the globe. Herta is aiming for a PhD in Universal Engineering, an additional 8-year program, with each set of 2 years focusing on a different area of engineering selected by the student. Herta chose Mechanical, Electrical/Computer, Quantum, and Optical Engineering.
Ruan Mei, on the other hand, aims to reverse-engineer life itself, aiming for a PhD in Biopsychianimology; studying what makes up the body, mind, and soul. Her degree would take an additional 8 years, similar to Herta, with the first 6 years being evenly split between biology, psychology, and animology. The final two years would be solely dedicated to research.12 years prior, the two arrived as freshmen, dominating the top ranks of their class. There had always been an intense rivalry to see who would come out on top, and for all 4 of their undergraduate years, the two were evenly matched. Before entering their Doctorate years, they promised to each other they would work their absolute hardest to deliver a dissertation that would shock the world.
The day had finally come for them to present and defend their dissertations.
