Summary
David Fry had never been impressionable.
Peer pressure never worked on him. He thought he was too smart for that. When he was a young boy, he’d been warned about the dangers of it. He thought it went without saying. Why would he need to ruin himself to fit in? He didn’t see the logic behind this widespread epidemic.
As he aged, he realised it wasn’t because he was too clever to be influenced. It was more likely because no matter what he did, fitting in was far out of the realm of possibility for David. He knew this. It didn’t upset him as much as it had when he was a boy. He was just different. There was nothing he could do about it now.

David Fry struggles with his drug addiction. He thought love was something that he could never come by. Platonic or romantic. That all seems to change at a dingy college party.
