“So, what, we take off? Leave everything to fight monsters together?”
Tara couldn’t tell if the other girl’s tone was hopeful or incredulous. “Why not? I mean, tell me that you think we can keep this up, only ever meeting on the psychic plane. Tell me that after all this, you want to go back to our families in the suburbs.”
The pause that ensued was not very long.
