Summary
While everyone else treats their final year like a last step into adulthood, to Maya, it feels like standing in the same still water she’s been in for years. Every passing day becomes a reminder of expectations she cannot fulfill. Those very expectations grow even more daunting whenever her sisters are around.
The last remaining place where she could find solace was her own innerscape. However, as she ventures into it again and again, she begins to notice the world changing. The sky stretches strangely; water becomes stagnant. Even the ground itself stops being a solid foundation. And amidst those distortions, a dark shadow holds its rather familiar, patient presence, waiting for something... or someone.
