Work Text:
Kim Soleum was in her room trying to bundle up in her nest. Her fluffy cat ears twitched and her puffed out tail was wrapped around her waist for some semblance of warmth, but the freezing winter night wind permeated through her window, allowing an uncomfortable cold to get in. Soleum didn’t know how much time had passed, but she could not sleep. Her senses were always more heightened than others, and it usually helped her survive through ghost stories. But when she was in heat? The heightened senses made it like hell.
She was too hot. It was too cold. She heard a buzzing sound echoing in her ears. Her omega instincts wanted someone to soothe her. Her blankets felt too thin, pillows too hard and bumpy and the plushies didn’t provide the comfort she sought. Soleum did not like it at all. It was uncomfortable. It was cold. She wanted warmth. She felt feverish because of her heat. Small tears were threatening to drop from her dark eyes. Curling into herself more she began to whimper pitifully, ears flicking from the discomfort. She wanted someone to help her. She wanted someone in her nest.
Wait.
She had a roommate.
Baek Saheon was probably warm.
Yeah.
That sounded nice.
The thought felt like heaven to the heat-stricken cat hybrid. With great struggle she managed to get up, and wander out of her room, whilst still being tightly wrapped in her blanket. Soft steps filled the apartment, while Soleum navigated to her roommate's room with only the moonlight glow and Saheon’s faint scent guiding her. The very faint cinnamon and apple scent felt hypnotic, she wanted more of it. Her legs seemed to carry her to her destination faster with that thought.
In front of the closed door Soleum scrunched up her nose with frustration. Why was the door closed? Her tail flicked around wildly with annoyance, why did it want to keep her out of her relief.
“Annoying.” She rumbled while gripping her blanket more tightly.
Soleum began kicking the door, calmly first, then frantically.
“OPEN THE DOOR.”
Inside the door she heard a thud and then stomps coming towards the door.
After a minute the door opened showing the figure of an annoyed Baek Saheon in her sleepwear, which was her bra and pajama pants. She was sporting a messy bed head, which held beta's puppy ears. Thet were all floppy from sleepiness, and her tail was slightly swaying. The image was adorable, but the words that came out of her mouth were foul in her tone.
“What do ya want.”
It seemed like Baek Saheon still couldn’t get the formalities through her thick head. How dare she address her so casually. And couldn’t she smell she was in heat and wanted someone to spend it with???
“Ma'am.”
“…What do you want ma'am.”
“Come with me.”
Soleums ears angled back and eyes narrowed, then she grabbed Saheons hand. With surprising force, she began to drag Saheon into her room. Soleum’s tail swished behind her happily, finally having found a person to spend her heat with! No more cold, no more uncomfortableness and no more of the deep feeling of something missing. She began to slightly purr under her breath.
“Where are you taking me, ma'am?”
“ma'am??” Saheon repeated.
Soleum stopped mid-step turning around to face Saheon. Her ears flattened slowly. Her eyes had a red shine to them, that made Saheon’s ears droop even more
“Shut up”
And Saheon shut up. She was scared shitless. Her knees felt like jello and her tail retreated behind her legs. Why was Kim Soleum dragging her to god knows where??? Was she finally acting on her threats? Was she going to die tonight??? Still, she allowed herself to be dragged where the cat-hybrid led her.
Their short journey ended at Kim Soleum’s bed. It was a chaotic mountain of blankets and pillows shaped carefully into a nest under Soleum’s meticulous adjustments. The moonlight spilled faintly across the sheets, catching on to the fluffy blankets, pillows and the scattered plushies that had been deemed insufficient only minutes earlier.
Soleum pulled Saheon down with her in one swift motion. The blanket still wrapped around Soleum tangled around them both as she climbed back into the center of her nest, dragging the puppy hybrid with surprising strength. Before Saheon could protest, Soleum had already curled up to her, pressing their bodies together from chest to chest. One leg hooked over Saheon’s thigh, effectively anchoring her in place, while her tail creeped around Saheon’s calf tightly like shackle.
Saheon barely had time to breathe and did not notice her own tail thudding wildly on the nest
The warmth hit Soleum instantly. It was nothing like the insufficient comfort of the cold blankets. Saheon’s body radiated a steady, comfortable heat that seeped into Soleum’s cold skin, and eased the feverish ache under it. The annoying buzzing in her ears morphed into a soft calm hum. She felt her thoughts melting into a puddle, only leaving her base instincts.
A low purr vibrated from her chest, deep and continuous, almost mechanical in its steadiness. It pressed directly against Saheon’s collarbone.
Saheon stiffened so hard it was almost audible.
Her puppy ears stood up straight immediately, as if frozen in confusion.
She held her arms awkwardly away from Soleum’s body, unsure whether touching her back would be considered acceptable or a punishable offense. Her heart was racing fast enough that she was certain Soleum could feel it.
“M-Ma’am…” Saheon tried carefully, her voice barely above a breath.
Soleum did not answer. Instead, she pushed her face into the crook of Saheon’s neck and inhaled slowly, deliberately. The cinnamon and apple scent was stronger here, she could even catch a hint of vanilla. It made something instinctive inside Soleum loosen.
Her ears twitched, and her purring deepened, vibrating through both of them. Saheon wondered why Soleum was doing this, why did Soleum drag her to her bed just to…..cuddle?
Then Soleums hands began to move.
At first Saheon thought Soleum was just adjusting her grip, but the motion repeated. Soleum’s palms pressed firmly on her stomach, fingers spreading slightly before curling in as if testing the texture beneath them.
The pressure was steady and deliberate. She released, only to press again, the movement rhythmic and unhurried.
It took Saheon a second to process what was happening.
“She’s… kneading me,” she realized in horror.
The pressure wasn’t painful, but it was insistent. Soleum’s fingers flexed into her skin, rolling it like dough between her knuckles before smoothing it out again. Each repetition seemed to ease something inside the cat hybrid. Her shoulders, which had been tense and trembling from discomfort, gradually relaxed. The feverish tightness in her breathing softened.
Saheon, however, felt like prey being prepared for an uncertain fate.
Her spine remained straight, every muscle coiled in anticipation. Was this territorial behavior? A dominance display? But she was a beta, was this some precursor to being killed?
“M-Ma’am, what are you-” she began again, voice wobbling.
Soleum’s response was to tighten her leg around Saheon’s thigh slightly, not enough to hurt, but enough to communicate that disagreement would not be appreciated.
Her purring grew louder, almost pleased at the small shift under her hands. She buried her face further into Saheon’s neck, as if to merge with her. Soleums breath warm against her sensitive skin. And then she bit. A bite would be the wrong word. It was more like a nibble.
The kneading continued, but it gradually changed in quality. What had started as firm, purposeful presses softened into something slower and more lazy. Her claws remained mercifully retracted, though the faintest scrape of nails on her bare stomach made Saheon’s ears twitch in alarm each time.
Soleum was utterly satisfied.
Each press of her palms calmed her instincts. The ache beneath her skin eased with every rhythmic motion. The cold air in the room no longer felt invasive. The nest no longer seemed inadequate and lonely. She had what she needed wrapped securely in her arms.
The scent she had chased down the hallway now surrounded her, filling her senses and smoothing out the restless edge of her heat.
A small, contented sound slipped from her throat, almost a hum, almost a sigh. Her tail flicked up, before settling snugly around Saheon’s leg once again
Saheon’s fear didn’t disappear, but confusion began to mix with it. “Is she in heat?”
Soleum wasn’t hissing. She wasn’t baring her teeth. She wasn’t issuing threats in that cold, commanding tone. Instead, she was… melting. The rigid tension she had carried earlier was dissolving against Saheon’s chest. The kneading slowed further, becoming absent-minded, as though Soleum was no longer consciously aware of doing it.
Carefully and cautiously, Saheon lowered one hand to Soleum’s back.
The reaction was immediate. Soleum pressed closer, her purr hitching briefly in approval before settling into an even deeper vibration. Her fingers gave one last firm press into Saheon’s stomach and then gradually stilled, resting there as if satisfied with their work.
Saheon exhaled shakily.
The room grew quiet aside from the wind brushing faintly against the window and the constant rumble of Soleum’s purring. Minutes passed, and the heavy, feverish energy that had radiated from Soleum earlier diminished into something warm and steady.
Saheon stared at the ceiling in the dim moonlight, her thoughts still racing but no longer terrified. She was trapped, yes, but not in immediate danger. Soleum’s weight against her felt solid and strangely reassuring. The warmth seeped through her pajamas, and despite herself, Saheon’s own muscles began to relax.
She swallowed quietly.
“…You’re not going to eat me, right?” she murmured under her breath. Tail wagging frantically against her will.
Soleum made a soft, sleepy noise and nudged her nose faintly against Saheon’s neck in what might have been protest or simple instinct. But a simple small lick came to her neck after second. Then a bite came, and another harsher bite. Her tail gave a lazy flick before going still.
Saheon hesitated, then gently rested her chin on top of Soleum’s head. The cat hybrid did not object. If anything, her purring deepened once more, satisfied and secure.
Fear lingered in Saheon’s chest, but it no longer felt sharp. It dulled into wary acceptance as Soleum drifted closer to sleep, thoroughly content, her body draped possessively over her unwilling but very warm roommate.
Neither of them spoke again.
The only noise in the night you could hear was the purring Kim Soleum was emitting.
