Summary
Richie, Eddie, Stanley, and Bill had been friends since kindergarten. They’d grown up together.
Class had just ended, and they’d all decided to head to the quarry. It was summer, and the heat was so intense it felt like they might melt.
“What the hell, Richie? What’s with the sweater?” Stan shouted as the group biked toward the quarry.
Richie wasn’t feeling well. It was true — the sweater made him feel like he was slowly burning alive. But he couldn’t bring himself to take it off. Not with everything he had to hide. He still felt guilty for lying to his friends, though.
