Ilya was so ready for this moment. He put on his Hollander 24 jersey. Then proceeded to slide on a black wig, placing a Montreal hat on top of it. He looked in the mirror unsatisfied. “Da” he obviously needed freckles.
Ilya swiftly grabbed a light brown marker out of his kitchen drawer and f’d up his face. “Perfect” he said to himself while checking the mirror again. But before he went to practice he should probably take a picture for his instagram.
Quickly he captioned the post “2nd best hockey player with freckles” and posted it. He couldn’t wait for Shane’s post.

Shane thought this was the most stupid costume Ilya could’ve thought of. But also kinda funny, so he went with it.
Shane slid on his Ottawa Rozanov 81 jersey, then a light brown almost blonde curly wig. To top it off he grabbed a black sharpie and drew a few of ilyas moles on his face. He loved Ilyas moles. He didn’t have practice today but he knew Ilya did so he would get loads of chirps today.
Shane took a picture for his instagram and posted it with the caption “Russian man who is slower than me”. Then he went to Ilyas account to see what he looked like. Shane laughed while typing out a comment. He said “love your costume”.

“Rozy what the hell are you wearing?” Wyatt Hayes could barely say while rolling screaming crying and laughing on the locker room floor. His other teammates were whipping their tears and pulling out their phones to take pictures of him. “Cap this is the best costume I’ve seen in a while!” Bood yelled over the chaos of the locker room.
“Yes yes, I know. The freckles are a great touch” Ilya said proudly to the group of hysterical men in front of him. That only made them laugh harder. Troy Barrett practically screamed “Oh my lord look at Hollanders post on instagram!”
Everyone pulled out their phones quickly including Ilya. He hadn’t gotten a chance to see it yet. Ilya let out a yelp of joy when he saw his boyfriend’s Halloween costume. “Da, is perfect” “Did you guys plan this out or something?” Dykstra wheezed. “Yes we planned it out. We are what…twining?”
That made Harris in the corner of the locker room on his phone snort and snap another picture of Ilya. “Ok fun is over get on the ice or everyone bag skates” Ilya cheerfully declared to his team. A series of groans were heard throughout the room.

After practice Ilya immediately called Shane once he got into his car. They talked and laughed while Ilya drove home. Even though they wouldn’t be spending Halloween together, they could still have some fun on this spooky day.
