Chapter Text

It's been a long time since Sunset helped the purple girl from crystal prep that looked so much like her princess: Twilight sparkle, the princess of friendship in the world of ponies. It has been two years since she came to the human world. She saw Sunset's horrible fate in her eyes. Her skin felt like it was burning, because she was. The fire from the bright beam that swallowed Sunset burned like thousands of fireworks had been shot at her. the pain was unbearable, but Twilight was there. she extinguished the flame literally and figurately and helped her dear companion. It was love. Love extinguished the flame. But a new flame ignited in Sunset.

Then came the battle of the bands. The students still didn't like her and that was understandable as she did torment them, but the poor girl actually apologized and tried to prove to herself that she wasn't that tormenter anymore. No one believed her, but twilight. Sunset had one person who believed her, and it was the one person who stopped her. That princess is her savior, her reason of being a good person. Seeing that an amazing person like Twilight, believes her ignited the flame in Sunset even more. But that flame died.

the friendship games came. A girl that looks like her princess comes by and turns into a she-demon just like Sunset. Sunset saw herself in this girl, and without any twilight...well any princess of friendship around, she knew she had to help herself. This isn't the twilight she loves, but this is still a scared and brainwashed student who was tricked by horrible people. Sunset felt empathy for this Twilight. But even after saving her, and accepting her as a new friend, Sunset knows, this isn't her twilight.

"Hey Sunset!" the purple girl with glasses shouts as she approaches her new friend.

"I want to have dinner with you, alone. As a thanks for saving me a few weeks ago" Twilight shyly says as she twirls her pink highlight and blushes slightly.

"Yeah! write to me where and I'll you up in my motorcycle" Sunset bit her tongue as soon as she finished answering Twi. "write" that word lingered on her mind. "Writing" is what twilight didn't do during the friendship games, and even though Twilight explained to her where she was, Sunset still felt this heaviness in her heart. Even though she "used" to be the same age as twilight before entering the portal, her time spent in Canterlot high made her young, physically and mentally. Meaning, her crush for the purple princess was none other than a childish thing. plus, Twilight liked the flash in her world, Sunset knows as she's been writing none-stop about the Knight.

The girls finally met at the diner, gave friendly hugs and sat down

"I have never been in this part of town before! have you? I mean! of course you have! you've been her longer than me. well not too long, I have heard about you being from another universe! and there being another me, I have met her in last week's picnic! she was what? an empress, a queen?" twilight rambles

"a princess. and an amazing friend." Sunset softly says, blushingly

the girls bought their drinks and talked with each other. A song played in the diner's radio. the same song played in the dance that twilight was in. Sunset remembered her funny dance, when she was in the floor kicking around.  She'd do anything to see her dance again.

"I like this song!" twilight says, snapping Sunset out from her memories of Her Twilight. The girl with glasses stands up and begins dancing. she wasn't dancing like Sunset's princess, but it was still cute watching her. Sunset stands up and dances next to Twi, a crowd forms but the girls don't care they're just having fun together. after spinning so much, twilight's hair tie falls off, and sunset catches a glimpse of twilight with her hair down. It reminded her of her twilight, and her heart warmed a bit. But she had to snap out, that's not her twilight. After the song finished and the crowd slowly leaves sunset picks up her friend's hair tie, grasping a small feeling of her palm while handing it to her. it's warm, just like Princess twilight's hand when she grabbed Sunset from her she-demon form and freeing her from it. Twilight laughs, and soon both pay for their snacks and leave. Sunset saw twilight dance again, but it wasn't her twilight.

"Hey, sorry for lashing out in the friendship games, y'know when you sucked out the magic from my friends" Sunset says, holding on Twi's shoulder

"Please don't apologize! the lash out was necessary I understand!" Twilight reassures. "So reassuring" Sunset thought. just like her princess

silence lingers the room

"Was it scary?" Twilight asks

"Hm? what?" Sunset says confusingly

"The change to a demon... I know it was scary for me. and it burnt, a lot! I kinda can still feel the pain from it. But when you told me you felt the same after putting the crown, the question kinda sticked with me" Twilight clarifies

"It was. Inside I felt alone and..." sunset sighs and stims with her fingers. "and... Twilight saved me. when you look at me it reminds me of her, kind and calm."

"I mean, my face is literally her!" twilight jokingly says, nudging her sunny friend with her elbow

"Yes. you look like her...but you're not her" Sunset thinks to herself, one more time.
