The ocean had become the prime minister of Canada just a couple of months ago. It was what she's been working towards since she started school, and she was proud that the first thing she did was send her parents to jail just because she can but today was special. She was resting on her couch smoking, then she heard the doorbell ring. Ocean got off the couch, took a stretch, and headed to the door let me guess its those mormons ocean said she opened the door and saw a teen girl with blond hair wearing a purple shirt. HOW DID YOU GET IN? Ocean shouted. The teen girl just stared at her i just climbed the gate, she said im jojo my family got sent to jail. They didn't do anything. They were good to me; they said they were filthy hippies. Ocean stared at Jojo. She never meant to tear apart a happy family. Ocean closed the door, saying, "Wait here." She entered the bathroom and took deep breaths, then called Astrid, her cousin. They kept in touch over the years, and she was a bridesmaid in her and Hank's wedding. Astrid picked up the phone, hi Astrid Ocean said how's everything astrid replied quickly oh its great, she said, but Hank has a few months to live. Would you like to say goodbye ocean sighed she known that hank didnt have much time left, but she didn't think it would happen 2 years after they got married yes i would like to say goodbye ocean said. Astrid then took the phone to hank now bedridden
Ocean Hank said i wish you could come and see us for one last time, but we have one thing to tell you before I die. Astrid holds up an ultrasound picture im pregnant astrid said your gonna be an aunt ocean then smilled hey she said theres this kid whose parents were taken away. Should I let her in? Astrid replied with yes you should give everyone a chance ocean heads to the door, opens it, and lets Jojo in. So, do you want beer? Ocean said im 15 jojo replied but pizza would be great ocean gots the pizza oh theres books if you need something to read. Ocean said Jojo grabbed a book and started reading. Ocean just stared at the microwave what have she done? Her first act as Prime Minister had caused multiple families to be separated. She felt her heart pumping. The colours began to blur, then Jojo grabbed her suit ms rosenberg the pizza is done i got it for you jojo said, and Ocean then hugged jojo how about you stay in the guest room ocean said with a smile, until we get things sorted jojo smiled and headed to the guest room. Ocean felt something in her heart it felt warm
TWO MONTHS LATER
it had been two months since Jojo moved in, and Ocean already enjoyed Jojo's company; she helped around the house, and Ocean felt like she was the daughter she never had, so at dinner she dropped the bombshell. So, Ocean said i have been talking to the government and have decided Ocean hands Jojo a form i would like to adopt you. Jojo started to cry and hugged Ocean really tight thanks ms rosenberg jojo said ocean hugged Jojo back. Just call me mom now, Ocean replied, but there's going to be rules: 1 your going to school like a normal teen, and make friends, 2, your gonna have to come with me to do prime minister stuff until you're 16, 3 your going to do chores to earn money, and 5. No sex, i dont want you to be a teen mom. Deal, Jojo shook Ocean's hand and signed the paper now shes oficaly jojo rosenberg then ocean grabbed her car keys and headed to her car. Hey, Jojo, wanna come? Ocean said I'm getting stuff for your new room
Jojo decided maybe i can get some cool stuff for my room and tagged along. They arrived at a mall. Ocean gave Jojo 300 dollars here, get yourself a little something said Ocean but you will have to do a month's worth of chores to return the favor. Jojo saw a bookstore she liked the book that she read on her first day, so she decided to pick up some more. She entered the shop and went to an employee. Hi, I was wondering where the fantasy section is. Jojo said the employee guided her to the fantasy section. Jojo picked up a book its called The Song of Achilles. She looked on the back greek myth, huh? She said, Maybe I'll give it a chance she saw that theres another book circe so she picked that up, and then she picked up more fantasy, and somehow she stumbled into the kids' section. That's where she saw Percy Jackson and the olympens she picked it up, looked at the cover, and decided to pick up the whole series. Someone came by to help her carry the books why are you doing that jojo said. The person said she saw Jojo coming out of the prime minister's car and thought she might as well help. Thanks, but I can carry my own books. Jojo picked up some more books, mainly some ones about cats in clans she bought the books and headed to the car. Ocean was putting some boxes in the trunk of the car
Can I help jojo said. Ocean said no because she's a strong woman, but Jojo helped anyway. Ocean looked at the books Jojo got, fantasy, huh, she said, but when she saw warriors, she was shocked she onced volintiered at an elementary school in Uranium. Back in high school, she saw some girls pretending to be cats, and they asked her to join. She didn't because 1 she was too old to be reading those kinds of books and 2 she just didn't want to. Wow, Jojo, this is uh great she said, and here ocean pulled out a phone from her pocket. A teen needs a phone i have my number and 911 already saved on it just in case you feel anxious come on lets get home jojo looked at the phone then at Ocean. She now knew she was safe
