Chapter 1: I fell hard in your arms tonight, it was nice

Chapter Text

Jason Todd has lived many lives, lost count of how many times his pulse ran out and blood tricked to a sluggish stop. He didn't understand why Gotham decided Jason was to live another torturous day in this cruel, endless plane of existence when Death's arms were like a mothers embrace. Jason missed Death, though she never let the boy stay long. Gotham and Death made a deal that whenever Jason died he could stay a maximum of six months before he was ripped away, back to the cold air of corruption.

Jason is tired, this he knew for sure. He had to bury everyone. Not technically everyone, but they were the select group that Jason talked to the most. The point is they're all dead and currently in the Wayne family cemetery. The point is that Jason has dirt and blood under his nails and not even (the previously thought to be immortal) Alfred was alive. Jason didn't want to know why they died. And although the wanted to beg for Death to give them back to him, he didn't because he didn't want them to suffer how he does every time his heart starts up again.

Jason wanted to fix things, everything he could, but how when they ,his family, are not there for him to fix things with. Then a thought. A dangerous one. He can't be sure it will even work. It goes against the laws of nature, of time.
When has a law ever stopped Jason.

Jason watched in awe as a soft glow in front of him grows large enough for him to see the other side where a small boy was crying over the form of his bleeding out parents.
Fuck.
That's Bruce Wayne.
