The sun was the culprit for Mika waking up most mornings. It shone in his eyes, but luckily, he had Yuu’s chest to use to hide from the blinding rays of sunlight.
They really needed to get blinds. Mika decided it could be put off for now, at least as long as Yuu let Mika cuddle up to him in the morning to shield his eyes.
Mika took a deep breath, inhaling Yuu’s scent. It was soothing. Mika let his eyes flutter close once again. He vaguely felt Yuu’s arm wrap around his waist to pull him closer.
“Mm.. morning” Mika could feel Yuu’s warm breath on the top of his head as Yuu spoke, before Yuu planted a kiss to the top of his head.
“Morning” Mika’s voice was just barely above a whisper, but still, Yuu was able to hear it, due to the close proximity of the both of them.
Mika pulled away, and wiggled his way up so he could be face to face with Yuu. He gingerly pressed his lips to Yuu’s, bringing a hand up to grip the hair at the back of Yuu’s neck.
There was an attempt to push Yuu onto his back, so Mika could climb on him, but any effort resulted in Mika being flipped back over, onto his back again.
The struggle continued, their lip locking never ceasing, until they ran out of room on the bed, and the two of them fell off of the edge, and onto the floor. They landed with a loud thud on the floor, Yuu on top of Mika. They both groaned in unison.
Yuu was the first one to start to get up, since he was the only one who could in that moment.
“Ow. I think you bit me.” Yuu sat up, not fully getting up off of Mika just yet. He stuck out his bottom lip. There were indeed faint bite marks on his lip. Mika luckily hadn’t bitten him hard enough to break skin, but it probably still had hurt.
“Sorry. It’s payback for making us fall off of the bed.” Mika didn’t even really try to get Yuu off of him. He figured if he tried, Yuu would just lay down on top of him, and then it would be impossible for Mika to get him off himself.
“I did not make us fall off, it was your fault for starting it.” Yuu frowned down at Mika.
There was a moment of silence before Mika spoke again.
“Did to”
“Did not”
“Did to”
“Dammit, I did not” Yuu huffed, and brought his hands to Mika’s sides, tickling him.
Mika’s hands shot to Yuu’s wrists to get him to cease his relentless tickling, but his effort was only in vain. Yuu wouldn’t budge.
Only for a moment, did he find relief, when Yuu moved down.
Mika’s relief was short lived, however, since Yuu pulled up his shirt, and blew raspberries into his tummy, his hands continuing their relentless assault on Mika’s sides.
Mika couldn’t breathe. He was laughing so hard. His stomach was starting to hurt.
Yuu lifted his head up, a smirk very present on his face.
“Are you ready to admit defeat, Mika?”
Mika nodded frantically. Tears from laughing so hard were starting to form in the corners of his eyes.
“Say it” Yuu blew another raspberry into his tummy.
“Fine! Fine! You were right! I’m so- sorry!”
Mika let out a sigh of relief when Yuu’s hands finally ceased their assault on Mika’s sides. He took a minute to actually catch his breath.
They were both definitely awake now, and what a way to wake up it was.
Mika wished they could wake up like this every morning, minus the falling off the bed, and being tickled. But rolling around in bed seemed ideal.
Unfortunately they couldn’t be that lucky.
Their responsibilities took priority over a lot of things. They couldn’t just abandon work to spend every day together. Even Mika and Yuu needed time away from each other.
Even if they did spend a lot of time together, and enjoyed doing so, they didn’t spend every waking moment together. They didn’t need, or even want to.
But now, wasn’t one of those times, and Mika gladly let Yuu pick him up off of the floor, and set him back on the bed. Yuu joined him, and pulled him close.
Their legs tangled together, and Mika pressed their foreheads together.
Mika couldn’t fight the urge to sneak kisses from Yuu. Soon, they were in a similar position as before they fell off of the bed. This time, however, they knew better to roll around too much. Mika happily let Yuu take the lead this time.
One of Yuu’s hands trailed down Mika’s side, and to Mika’s leg, hiking it up, so Mika would be able to wrap it around Yuu’s waist.
Mika’s fingers were tangled in Yuu’s hair, kissing Yuu back with everything he had. The sounds of lips smacking together filled the room, along with their pants as they pulled away for air.
They were really too lazy to go further, so Yuu settled for smiling down at Mika.
Mika bit his lip, returning Yuu’s gaze.
He could never get used to this look that Yuu gave him. One filled with so much love. It made him dizzy.
Sometimes he doubted that he even deserved that look. Though, with Yuu’s reassurance, he was slowly starting to allow himself to be happy, and not feel guilty.
He wasn’t useless. He meant something in this world. He meant a lot to Yuu, and Yuu did everything to prove that to him.
Yuu sacrificed so much for the ones he loved. That included Mika, and Mika wanted to do everything in his power to repay what Yuu had done for him. To let Yuu know that his efforts were not in vain.
He truly loved Yuu. There was nothing to doubt about that. Yuu meant so much to him, and he’d go to the end of the earth, and back for him, as many times as he needed to. He knew from experience, that Yuu would do the same, he had done it before.
Mika had all the faith in the world in Yuu.
