Summary
He even allows himself a moment to think that maybe his luck has turned around. That after the explosion at his place and all the sneers from the Council and the way any hope had seemed impossibly far away just a day ago, now things are looking up. Now he has a partner and they've solved the equations and they're going to get his equipment back and maybe it will actually all work out.
Until he hears the sound of shoes, of someone walking towards them, and realizes that they're fucked.
Viktor must realize it too, because he immediately grabs the key ring and shoves the whole thing into his pocket in an instant as Jayce fumbles to click the light off. He's already trying to come up with some sort of excuse, some kind of plan, when Viktor, swift as anything, surges to his feet, fists a hand in the collar of Jayce's shirt, and hauls him in to press their mouths together.
Day Four - Free Day: Viktor comes up with another excuse for why they're skulking outside Heimerdinger's lab that still involves access to his bedroom.

Summary
Jayce was going to die. Right here, in this lab, from sheer secondhand embarrassment and utter confusion.
Sky thought they were together. She wasn’t the only one. And instead of correcting her, Viktor had— what, silently agreed?
A single kiss was one thing. Dating was quite another.
“I, uh,” Jayce started, but he had no idea where he was going with it. “Thanks?”
The rise at the end of his tone made it sound like a question. Though, truly, what the hell else was he supposed to say? No, Sky, don’t feel bad, you’re not silly, because actually, we’re not together, despite the fact that apparently the entire city thinks otherwise? That wouldn’t make things awkward at all.
Sky beamed, clearly relieved. “Oh, good! I was worried for a second there. But really, I think it’s great. You two just… fit, you know?”
Jayce did not, in fact, know.
OR: Viktor kisses Jayce instead of telling Sky he isn't interested like a normal person. Cue the gossip mill, and Jayce and Viktor pretend to be in a relationship until it dies down.
For purely practical reasons, of course.

2: Don’t figure out that you are fucking your future research partner“Caitlyn, our new blacksmith needs proper garb before the gates open in the morning. Would you please show him to his site and introduce him to my darling tailor? It would seem he’s set up just across the lane from Jayce’s smithy.”
Mel Medarda smiles.
“Please inform Viktor that he can thank me later.”
Jayce and Viktor have a couple problems.

Summary
Even here, in this empty apartment, he can’t show one iota of weakness. As far as Piltover knows, Viktor does not feel pain. In fact he hadn’t felt pain since he left the undercity. It’s a point of pride for him, something he maintains obsessively.
Until it follows him to his own bed, at which point he has to acknowledge the inverse: that the existence of pain is a point of shame.
Viktor forces himself to go to work during a flare-up, and the immovable object of his stubbornness meets the unstoppable force of Jayce’s desire to care for him.
