Chapter Text
Tears sting my cheeks as I run from my house towards the only place that ever truly felt like home. Home should be with Euphemia Rowle, who had raised me for the past thirteen years, but most of the time, she would ignore me most of the time and would pretty much only acknowledge my existence to yell at me over her own mistakes. This time she had burnt her mouth on tea, somehow she had decided that I had cost a warming charm to burn her, and as retaliation she poured the boiling hot tea on my arm. I doubt she would even notice I was gone, she hated me. I don't know why, maybe it was my strange appearance, with my bright blue hair, Grey blue eyes, or that she had to constantly remind me to speak in English because I would often speak in a garbled mix of Parseltounge and bird language, Which was probably Felix's fault because that was how she spoke.
I met Felix on a wonderful autumn day that I was definitely not fully appreciating, because I was running as fast as I could, Euphemia had yelled at me again over speaking in Parseltounge, so I had decided to leave. In my seven year old mind, I would go live by myself, but what I had not anticipated was that I had no idea where to go and was now horribly lost. Suddenly I heard a loud voice from right next to my ear.
“Hello, are you lost?” I nearly jump out of my skin and hurriedly turn to look for the source, and my eyes fall upon the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. She had black hair with dark red ends, braided intricately with strands of pure gold, dark skin, and gold eyes. She was wearing a black and red feathered dress, with what looked like snake skin boots. I realized she had asked me a question, so I should probably answer.
“Yes I am-” I pause, could you really be lost if you didn't know what you home even was.
“My name is Felix, do you know where you need to be?” She pauses and tilts her head “ What is your name?” She hisses. It's only now I realize that she was speaking in a strange mixture of hisses and chirps.
“My name is Delphi, and I don't really know where I should be.” I respond.
“You shouldn't be able to understand me.” Felix responds.
“Why not?” I ask, if I shouldn't understand her then why would she speak to me.
“You're a human, even if you were a parselmouth, you shouldn't understand me. Are you an amagius?” Felix asks
“No, why would you ask?” I respond, confused.
“I was cursed, half a decade ago, when I was only one. Since then I have only spoke in a mixture of bird speak, And Parseltounge. No one has properly understood me since.” Felix says.
“I have always been able to speak to snakes, and birds, so I suppose that works out well.” I reply. I guess it was unusual? No one else I met had ever been able to as far as I know, but then again I never asked.
From that moment on I would visit Felix every day without fail, even if it was raining, Which was not saying much because I loved the rain, I always knew when it was going to rain.
My arrival at our meeting spot brought me back to the present, and I look around for Felix. I see her watching me from a low branch.
“I can't do this Felix, I can't keep going back, leaving you, I want to become an Animagus” I say, staring directly into her gold eyes.
She studies my eyes “Fine” she hisses.
