Work Text:
It was a tough day for Sasaki, she had a meeting today and it didn’t go great to say the least. Students yelling at each other and teachers arguing with the students, it was extremely tiring and childish too. Not like she’s at the meeting room right now, actually she was walking through the empty hallway with two boxes filled with fast food and two large drinks of soda. Usually Sasaki barely even bothers with fast food, she just lets Daiki order homemade food from the student cafe in the morning and lunch for her and him. However, now that she’s thinking about it, didn’t she tell him to deliver and fill out forms today? Yeah she did and Sasaki was pretty much regretting that decision.
Since Daiki could've been supporting her if he was at the meeting with her. But no, she just had to let her assistant fill out forms and deliver them to the teachers. Nevermind that maybe he’s reading the book Sasaki recommended to him. Oh or maybe Daiki is studying mathematics or reading. Well probably not, the boy was smart enough already. Being an A+ student just like Sasaki herself, she tutored him well after all.
Nonetheless, Sasaki arrives at her personal office, Daiki should be there either reading or maybe just studying. Though when she opened the door, she didn’t really expect this.
Daiki was fast asleep with the book she recommended covering his face. Hell the boy was sitting in her chair too, softly snoring on her desk. At least there were no papers laying around the place. So that meant that the young boy was waiting for her and fell asleep doing so.
“Oh, Daiki.”
Sasaki softly sighed, setting down the fast food on her desk. Suddenly she opened one of the boxes, turning it to face the redhead. She watched as Daiki’s nose perked up and heard a bit of sniffing. And when the young artist slowly inched closer to the box, that’s when she lifted the book from Daiki’s face. Seeing the boy’s curious gaze on her then on the open box.
“Is that my favorite?”
Daiki asked softly, his eyes slowly dilating towards the food.
“If you’re talking about the spicy one tender, one slider, and cheese fries then yeah I got your favorite.”
Sasaki chuckled, placing the large soda drink next to the artist.
“Thanks but why’d you buy this?”
“Because the meeting went wrong and I felt too tired to talk to anyone else.”
“So you come to me?”
Daiki asked, starting to dig into his food.
“Basically and I’m bored as well.”
Sasaki sighed, looking around in her office. She had some board games but they would take forever to set up. Hell now she was wondering if she should practice on her piano skills. Yet the thought got interrupted when the redhead dug through his own pockets, pulling out a familiar deck of cards.
“We can play hanafuda if you want, boss.”
“Did you steal those or are they from here?”
"No, I bought them this time.”
“That’s wonderful but don’t you win half the time anyway?”
Sasaki softly chuckled, starting to dig into her own food.
“Is that really going to stop you though?”
Daiki asked, already shuffling the cards and setting them up.
“No.”
“Knew it.”
And that’s how the rest of Sasaki’s afternoon was spent. Eating fast food and playing multiple rounds with her assistant. Sure she could be studying, practicing her piano, or maybe finishing the books she had on standby. But not for any reason whenever she didn’t do any of those things. Sasaki swore that the young artist was a bad influence on her. Plus she could practice reading books with Daiki later on.
So she smiled along and kept playing with the redhead.
It’s always been them huh? Not like Sasaki minded and she really thinks she never will.
