Gut Shot
The case was over and Todd was typing up her report as a liaison between their two agencies at the other desk. As she finished and got up to leave, Tony got up with her to escort her out. "I don't need a stalker, thanks," she shot at him, again oddly hostile and defensive.
"Regulations," Tony replied simply. He started to tuck his hands in his pocket, then stopped and pulled the left one back into more of an L shape, like he was wearing an invisible sling.
"I'm cleared to be in the same room as the president" Todd said snippily. "I'm sure I can be trusted to walk out the front door of NCIS."
"Not my call," Tony said in the same even tone, before offering a small smirk. "Although considering that the Secret Service cleared Leonard Rish to be in the same room as the president, I think they need to step up their game."
Todd scowled but let Tony follow her into the elevator. As the doors closed, Gibbs saw her elbow him in the gut and his agent went down clutching his stomach with Todd calling him a big baby and saying that she didn’t hit him that hard. But Balboa was calling for an ambulance and to get the night ME up to their floor immediately. Heading over to Tony as he had his XO call down to security to keep the elevator in place and the doors open. Gibbs right behind Balboa’s XO and trying to stop him from arresting Todd for her physical attack on a federal agent on duty. While Balboa’s teammates held Gibbs back.
The night ME had run up the stairs to find an agent in the elevator coughing up blood and holding his stomach with one arm and the other cuddled up against his chest. His own call to the nearest hospital had the paramedics ready to wrap and run to get the agent to the hospital asap. And from there straight into surgery.
Later investigation by not only the FBI’s IA after it became known that Fornell’s team dropped (literally) Tony in a body bag on the freeway at night where he was further injured but that Todd recently released from the Secret Service had further injured the areas he had been injured with her own unwarranted attack.
Gibbs was also investigated for his stunt by calling Agent DiNozzo while he was in the possession of the FBI and which resulted in Agent DiNozzo’s injuries. While DiNozzo lost parts of his liver. With no DiNozzo, and Gibbs in the doghouse for what he did, Gibbs was forced to “train” newbie wanna-be agents over at FLETC until Tony requalified for work and was off light duty. Kate was tried for her acts with the President and for the attempted murder of a federal agent with her own attack and never saw the outside of a prison cell again.
