Chapter Text
Dear Readers,
Welcome back to the neighborhood. 🖤
If you are reading this, it means you walked through the fire with Mingi and Yunho in I Should Have Made You Stay. It means you felt the ache of the betrayal, the shatter of the accident, and the fragile hope of a promise kept. Thank you. Thank you for staying when the story got heavy. Thank you for loving these boys when they were broken. Your comments, your kudos, your quiet support… they were the light that guided me through writing this sequel.
Before we begin this next chapter of their lives, I have a few gentle requests and reminders for you.
✨ A Note on Order This work is Book 2 of the What Could Have Been Us series. It is a direct continuation of I Should Have Made You Stay. While you are welcome to read this as a standalone, I highly recommend reading Book 1 first. To understand the weight of Mingi's grief, the truth of Yunho's promise, and the shadows they are stepping out of, you need to know where they began. The ache hits harder when you know what was lost.
⚠️ A Note on Themes Just like Book 1, this story deals with heavy, real-world emotions. We will be navigating:
- Grief & Mourning: The aftermath of loss is not linear.
- Mental Health: Depression, anxiety, and the aftermath of a suicide attempt.
- Betrayal & Guilt: Dealing with the fallout of broken trust.
- Death: References to the accident and the deceased character.
It is a story about healing, but healing is messy. It hurts before it gets better. There will be tears. There will be quiet moments. There will be joy, but it is earned.
🌼 A Note on You I need you to hear this, just as much as I needed you to hear it in Book 1: You matter.
If at any point the weight of this story feels too heavy—please step away. Close the tab. Drink a glass of water. Step outside and feel the sun on your face. Text someone who loves you. Your mental health is more important than any update schedule. You are not alone. Your pain is valid, but it is not the end of your story. Be gentle with yourself today. You are seen. You are worthy. You are loved.
📅 Posting Schedule I want to give this story the care it deserves, and I want you to have time to breathe between chapters.
- Start Date: February 24rd
- Total Chapters: 20 Chapters
I will do my best to stick to this schedule, but please know that life sometimes happens. If there is a delay, I will let you know. Thank you for your patience.
If you need hope after the ache… I'll be waiting for you in the comments.
With all my love and gratitude,
🖤✨
P.S. Go hug someone you love today. I mean it. And if no one is near—hug yourself. You've earned it. 🌼
