Chapter Text
Angel laid on the lobby couch, his eyes heavy and stomach rumbling. He’s been running off of some of Belzebub’s coffee and maybe an orange or two for the past week.
There were two things on his mind— Booze, and getting some sleep. He had just finished his shift at V tower and if he was gonna keep this up, he needed some beauty rest.
Some of the hotel staff had been keeping watch on Angel these past few days. It wasn’t like him to skip a meal. He sure loved the hotel food, but he would never admit it. He was too stubborn. Nifty would prepare a special vegetarian meal just for him. It made him feel at home.
Husker was the most worried for Angel. He was the one person who truly saw him for who he was. Husk can tell that Angel hasn’t been doing well after returning to the hotel.
As Husk thought, another concern came to his mind. Angel has type one diabetes. Angel needs his blood sugar, or else he could end up in the hospital or worse.
He didn’t wanna seem like he was spying on him or anything, but he needed to check up on him. He makes his way over to the lobby. That’s where Angel usually hung out. It was his favorite spot.
He spots Angel lying on the couch. God, he looked like hell. Angel’s weary eyes landed on Husk as he walked in.
“Angel? Oh, there you are.”
“Hey Husk.. Ya startled me.” Angel murmurs.
“Uh, you doin’ okay? You don’t look too good.”
“What’re you tryin to say?” Angel scoffs.
“Just looking out for ya. You know you can talk to me if something’s going on.” He looks at Angel with worried eyes.
“Don’t worry about me. I’m fine.” Angel sits up, letting Husk take a seat next to him.
“No, you’re not, Angel. You need some food. No offense, but you look like you haven’t eaten in months.”
“Leave me alone, Husk. If you really want to help me, why don’t ya get me some booze?”
“Angel, you need something. You know damn well things could go horrible for you if you stop eating. You could end up hospitalized!” Angel hadn’t seen Husk this serious since he saved him from Val.
Husk tries to put a hand on Angel’s shoulder, but Angel moves farther away from him.
“Listen Whiskers. I know you’re tryin to help me, but I’m good. If there was something wrong I would’ve told ya, okay?
“Fine. I’ll be on the roof if you need anything.” Husk sighs, then walks out, his head turning back to Angel, who looks too tired to function.
Husk wasn’t stupid. He knew there was something going on, and he was gonna make sure Angel was okay. If he liked it or not.
