Summary
Bone cracks as he closes his maw around the jugular of the doe and wrenches it backwards. The snap drives a shiver down his spine, raising his hackles even as blood and saliva pool beneath his tongue.
The tang of iron and earth sets his stomach ablaze with hunger even as his mind recoils. He's not hunting for the pleasure of the beast. He will not feed it. He doesn’t swallow, instead letting the liquids dribble out of his mouth. Then he begins the arduous task of dragging the carcass over to the pentagram on the ground.
