Lacie tilted her head, watching the group interact from a distance. There was a done expression in Alex’s face even as he leaned into the others, and a smug grin on Sphinx’s face while he crooned over Alex, and, most importantly, a brilliant light of laughter in Ceui’s mismatched eyes.
They were all disheveled, feathers and twigs everywhere, clothes rolling up and skin covered in dirt and mud. Lacie didn’t know how it started, but she had seen how it ended — Alexius on the ground without glasses, Sphintux on top with Ceui wrapping an arm around their neck, and a lot of loud swearing being screamed all around.
It was amusing and said a lot about their growing familiarity — but it also made Lacie want to leave her own marks on Ceui’s skin, make it clear she was not for anyone else but faer.
Fae knew there was no risk with this group, knew Alex and Sphinx were entirely too besotted with each other, but the sight of her tattooed midriff and the curve of her breasts made Lacie’s teeth itch.
This little half-creature was an entire miracle and she was Lacie’s.
She clenched and unclenched her hands, nails and claws getting mixed in-between as she forced the glamour back on herself, and walked slowly towards them.
“I see a bath is needed,” she drawled, resting a hand around Ceui’s shoulder, nudging her back from Sphinx’s neck. “You all are quite filthy.”
Ceui flashed a smirk over, head tilting back towards Lacie in a way that showed off large expanses of vulnerable bronze skin.
“Wanting a peek, love?”
Alexius groaned, loudly, pushing Sphinx off abruptly. “Nope, I’m outta here, I’m not watching you two flirt again.”
“Like you two aren’t worse,” Ceui chimed cheerfully, not pulling away from Lacie even as she stepped back from the two scrambling on the ground.
“Fuck off, Ci,” Alexius rolled his eyes, getting to his feet. “See ya tomorrow. Please don’t fuck in my house.”
Ceui sent an obnoxiously loud kiss at her retreating brother, laughing at his raised middle finger up his shoulder.
On the ground, now laying on his own back, Sphintux huffed.
“Terrible timing, Lacie.” They said flatly. “Go be an over possessive freak elsewhere.”
“You say, as if you haven’t been layering your magic all over the boy.” Lacie answered, changing languages. Ceui was hers, but Alexius was her sibling’s, and fae wasn’t going to ruin that for them. “Go be a creep, dearest. I’m sure he misses your touch.”
Sphinx rolled his eyes, flowing to his feet with the unnatural grace every fae seemed to have and that could, apparently, be inherited by half-ones as well, considering Ceui’s inability to fall on her face.
The moment her younger sibling was gone, she turned to Ceui, eyes heavy on her lips.
“Now,” she purred, “I feel like we had something we were going to do?”
Ceui surged down, planting a hungry kiss on Lacie that fae was only too happy to return, hand curling possessively over Ceui’s nape.
She ran claws up Ceui’s stomach, catching on old scars and leaving marks over that stupidly bright flower marking her side. She wanted Ceui covered in faer marks. Wanted Ceui’s skin bruised and blooming with the shapes of faer teeth, faer touch.
Wanted Ceui to moan faer name, the one fae had whispered at her in the security of their room.
Ceui was a free woman, half-creature and entirely too feral, but Lacie wanted her in her jewelry, her bed, her possession.
Lacie’s little impossible feral miracle.
There was one other thing the fae in their family was known for, after all, and Lacie had never pretended to be anything but greedy.
