they are three and they are broken, each in his own way. they have been cast off from the race that gave them birth, left alone and lost, until Sleep finds them and remakes them into something new. something better. and they are happy, for a time, but they are still not whole.
then, the third brings a human to the nest and he is unlike any human they have met before. he is equally as broken as they are. he is like them—but not. and perhaps, he is the one who will make them whole.
