“Wait… I think you need to hear this too” Will said, shaking a bit. Mike nodded and took a seat, looking at Will with curious, yet reassuring eyes.
“There’s something you guys need to know… about me… the truth.” Will was increasingly becoming visibly nervous. “Something I’ve had to come to terms with myself and that I’ve been hiding for a while.” Will started to tear up.
Joyce and Mike watched Will, Joyce reassuring him by holding his hand.
“Whatever you need to tell us won’t change anything ok?” Joyce said, Mike agreeing shortly after.
“Yeah dude, you have nothing to worry about.”
Will smiled at the support. He took a deep breath in.
“The truth is… I like boys… not girls… I’m gay.” Will looked up, trying to study their reactions. “And I’m… still me, just I like boys.”
“Oh honey.” Joyce hugged him tightly. Mike thought for a moment but joined the hug shortly. “We love you very much, you know that right?” Will reciprocated the hug and nodded. “I love you too.”
