Chapter Text
“fuuucckkk I don’t want to do this..”
What Lucifer said to himself while walking through the gates of heaven was that apparently, his getting a new executioner was a big deal to heaven, and they requested a meeting with him. Which means he has to face his brothers again, and he’ll have to meet Michael.
Dear Christ on a stick, as if this year couldn’t get any worse for him.
“Sire, is something on your mind?” Lucifer snapped out of his thinking box, to then glance at Alastor, his executioner. “Uh, no, just uhmm going to heaven is awkward considering they have never requested ME to be the one that has to be there since…millions of years”
“Hmm, indeed, I did not know that I, a ‘lowly sinner’ becoming your executioner was such a big deal to heaven” Alastor chuckles a little “quite fascinating I must say.”
“Uh-huh yeah…” Lucifer replied to Alastor, honestly this meeting would be less worrying for him if Michael and his brothers did not appear at all in the meeting.
“I suppose you aren’t looking forward to also seeing your brothers?, Lu” Alastor figured from how Lucifer was thinking. He knew a lot about heaven, strangely a lot, even for a sinner like him.
“How did you- nevermind, I should expect it from someone like you to know that” Lucifer can’t really deny, Alastor is a strange demon, even though Alastor is just..a regular sinner, Lucifer can’t really trust him fully sometimes.
Lucifer will never admit this to anyone, ever since Alastor’s arrival in hell, Lucifer had actually been interested in the radio demon to the point that it might as well be that he wanted him romantically, a sinner who managed to kill that many overlords, without angelic steel. It was, impressive. The King had actually been trying to figure out how Alastor gained this much power.
Even after he met him face to face, Alastor was still a mystery to him.
Lucifer and Alastor arrived at the towering gates of heaven, the air thick with anticipation. Lucifer took a slow, deliberate breath, his expression unreadable, not exactly eager for this encounter. The grand gates swung open with a shimmering glow, revealing Saint Peter fluttering down from above, his majestic wings fluttering gently as he greeted them. “Welcome to heaven—wait, Prince Lucifer?
“Yeah I owe some explaining but apparently, heaven needs me for a meeting, I didn’t exactly come here willingly” Lucifer explained, clearly, he does not want anything to do with heaven, at least not right now.
“oh that makes sense; I’m just surprised the uhh king of hell suddenly visited heaven, considering your-” Lucifer frowned at what Peter was going to say.
“oh sorry, that's a sensitive topic, sorry for almost bringing that up..” Saint Peter then glanced next to Alastor.
“And you are, Alastor?” Saint Peter asked
“Indeed, it’s quite a treat to meet you” Alastor said as he bowed slightly.
“Ok well uhm you 2 are gonna stay in heaven for a week! I usually give like a day but you two are no ordinary guests so. Enjoy your stay!”
The moment Lucifer and Alastor entered heaven, everyone; winners and heavenborns stopped what they were doing to stare at them, whispering and gossiping everywhere.
They wondered why the king of hell was there, questioned who that demon next to him was, and speculated if they were a couple. Many had mixed feelings, some were scared, some were angry, some were intrigued.
The gossip was hardly subtle. Lucifer, trying to ignore the residents' whispers, shifted his attention to Alastor, Lucifer clearly does not want to be here. Interestingly, Alastor maintained his composure, his wide smile intact.
Then the two seraphim sisters came down, Emily in her usually joyous self, was surprised, Sera however knew why they were here.
“Greetings, Samael,” Sera simply spoke. Lucifer grimmed slightly at the dead-naming but didn’t bother to correct her, Tension still spilling in the air, “Greetings to you too, Sera” Lucifer replied.
Emily knew the tales of Lucifer, he is simply no stranger in heaven, but seeing him face to face was different. The younger seraphim approached Lucifer “Are you, really Samael? Like THEE Samael?”
Lucifer looked at Emily, his face softened slightly “Yeah, you could say that, but now I go as Lucifer.” he paused for a little “Samael died a long time ago, I’m not him” he muttered quietly.
“The meeting will start by tomorrow, I know you won’t be happy to hear this, but your brothers will be there too” Sera exclaimed.
“Ha..ha, right…just such great news to hear” The fallen angel’s fears were confirmed and it will start by tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Gabriel had just gotten the news that Lucifer is visiting today. With his royal executioner. “What? What do you mean he’s here?”
Gabriel spoke to the older archangel, Uriel simply answered with, “It’s an important meeting, to discuss everything, and to make an agreement, since heaven broke the peace treaty, Adam almost killed a hellborn”
Gabriel raised an eyebrow “he what??, well that does make sense on why he came back looking injured..”
Uriel placed their hand on the younger angel's shoulder. “Make sure to be ready for the next meeting” before then walking away.
Gabriel sighed, he was honestly more surprised he wasn’t told about this sooner. The messenger then flew away, after a good flight, he landed on one of the balconies, a great place to view the gates of the councils.
‘Oh there he is’ he identified Lucifer immediately, he seemed to be talking to Sera about the meeting, but what surprised Gabriel was the demon next to him. From what Gabriel can assume, that is probably Lucifer’s executioner.
Gabriel only had a stern look when he knew Lucifer was coming here, sure he doesn’t fully despise him, but Gabriel is still angry at him for not listening to his warnings many years ago.
“hey Gabs”
Gabriel froze a little, then sighed again, oh he knows who this is. “Azrael, you know I respect you but please don’t scare people like that”
It was, none other than the angel of death himself, Azrael, who only chuckled “Yeah sorry, I was just wondering, what’s gotten you so curious here?” the dark angel asked.
“You do know the news of Lucifer visiting for a meeting right?”
“No…usually I’m never really invited to meetings so I’m sure no one even bothers to tell me” The black-haired angel replied.
“figured, I was also not told about this earlier as well”
“heheh, welcome to my world, and also don’t expect me to be in the meeting as well, I’d rather Michael not yell at me for no reason again,.” Azrael exclaimed as he rested on the fences, despite his lackadaisical dark-humored self, there is some weight that held to his last sentence.
Gabriel knew why, he pitied Azrael but he also holds an underlying hatred for Azrael, it’s just he knows Azrael does not deserve the usual treatment he gets from others.
Azrael stared off the balcony, until he noticed someone interesting. Oh? Azrael smiled slightly as he saw the person he noticed. Gabriel did not miss that detail.
“saw something interesting?” Gabriel asked
“Nah, just noticed the royal executioner” Azrael replied, Gabriel looked back at the view, that red haired deer demon, “her?”
Azrael laughed slightly “Gabriel that's a man actually” Gabriel got a little embarrassed he mistook someone's gender.
“So why is he so interesting? The fact he is a royal executioner says a lot he is no regular sinner” the blond angel analyzed.
“pft- yeah, Alastor is an interesting sinner if I might say”
“I see..”
Gabriel stared off to the radio demon, he has a bad feeling about him..
