LIFE IN HELL - Season 1: Welcome to hell!
Arc 1 - Human in hell?!
Chapter 1
The street, already bustling on a daily basis, became even more crowded as Christmas approached. People jostled and blended together like an endless stream, carrying with them the cheerful laughter of children and the lively conversations of adults.
The lights from the shops shone against the cold gray sky, reflecting off the beautifully decorated window panes, and the scent of freshly baked cookies wafted through the air, seemingly easing the chill of early winter.
Amidst the bustling scene, a small girl struggled to weave her way through the crowd gathered in front of the bakery. Her shoulders brushed against thick coats, and her cold hands clenched as if to maintain balance in the jostling crowd.
When she finally managed to get through the bustling crowd, she leaned her hands on her thighs and took deep breaths as if she had just emerged from the water after holding her breath for a long time.
She lifted her head, letting the cold wind caress her face, flushed red from the chill. Raising a hand to brush away the brown hair that fell across her eyes, she looked towards the road ahead – where yellow streetlights stretched across the pavement and snowflakes began to fall – and continued walking.
The girl weaved through the crowded streets, running and skillfully avoiding bumping into anyone. Then she stopped in front of house number 666 – an unlucky number, but the only option her family could afford, before frantically searching her bag for the keys.
The door swung open with a dry 'click'. She quickly stepped inside, closed the door behind her, took off her shoes, and silently climbed the old wooden stairs that creaked under her feet.
There were only three rooms upstairs, so she walked straight to the last room down the hallway - which is her room, she opened the door, and collapsed onto the bed without bothering to close it. After a tiring day of studying, all she needed was to lie still in the darkness.
Christmas was approaching, the classroom was filled with excited chatter, but she remained as quiet as ever – going to school, listening to lectures, eating lunch, going home. Life was so repetitive it was boring.
She turned to adjust her position and stared at the ceiling, using this quiet moment to reflect on her day, and the boredom of it made a fleeting wish for someone's attention cross her mind.
She immediately blushed and shook her head in an effort to dismiss that fanciful thought. What was so special about her that someone could possibly like her?
Every day she dressed conservatively, boringly, and especially in winter. She was currently wearing a cream-colored sweater over a long-sleeved white shirt, gloves, a wool hat, and a red scarf draped around her neck.
To make matters worse, she didn't have the beautiful, flowing hair of her friend; she had short, shoulder-length brown hair—a color she disliked… she thought blonde looked much better. She also didn't have as much money as another friend; her family wasn't wealthy, but not too poor either, just enough to support everyone.
And then her gaze fell on the framed photograph on the wall—a picture of three people standing together with a forced smile.
She was adopted from an orphanage after her biological parents passed away. Once grateful for having a home to shelter her, she gradually realized that over the years she was merely a pretext for her adoptive parents to borrow money from her grandparents. And where did all that borrowed money go? It was all given to a member of the underworld to acquire what they called 'hot goods,' something she didn't know what it was, but she knew for sure it wasn't anything good. And being only thirteen years old, she had no choice but to live with those who were supposedly her 'parents.'
She sighed before taking out her old phone to watch some cat videos to distract herself. A slight smile curved her lips as the silly cats appeared on the screen. 'If only I could have one,' she thought to herself.
But then she immediately snapped out of thought when she saw her room illuminated by a deep red light. Startled, she sat up and looked around the room.
‘The floor’s glowing?! How—’ and just then, her eyes fell upon a glowing circle with an inverted five-pointed star inside, right in the middle of the room. She couldn’t observe it for long before the red light grew increasingly blinding, causing her eyes to ache. She squeezed her eyes shut, letting the light engulf her entire body and the room.
Crash!
She crashed violently into something, causing numerous other items to fall on her head, leaving her with a throbbing headache. Before she could understand what was happening, a panicked voice rang out in front of her
“Heck- What the fuck?!”
“H-huh?-”
She immediately opened her eyes, only to freeze.
What should have been her room was now a completely unfamiliar, cluttered, and brighter space, with a boy about her age standing not far away, staring at her as if she had just fallen from the sky.
That... somehow true.
He had long blond hair, hastily tied back in a messy ponytail. On top of his head, a lock of black hair stood up like a lightning bolt. But what stunned her wasn't his hair – it was the two black horns protruding from either side of his head, his pointed ears, and his gleaming golden eyes like a cat's. Behind him was a long black tail, its tip also shaped like a lightning bolt.
Just as she was about to speak, he interrupted her, pointing directly at her face.
“Who the heck are you?! Why is some random ass bitch showing up in my room-?!” — He froze mid-sentence, his eyes widening even further
“W-wait... you don't have a tail?!”
“W-what?”
“Oh GOSH! Aaron!” — He spun around, almost shouting
“What is this thing?! Why doesn’t it have horns or a tail?!”
Only then did she realize there was another person behind him. A slightly shorter teenager with dark hair, raising an eyebrow at the scene before him, though his face showed no trace of curiosity or confusion.
‘He’s been there all this time? Why didn’t I notice?’
The one called Aaron just sighed softly and took a sip from his teacup… wait, where did he get that cup from?
His action didn’t calm the blond guy down at all, it only made him more panicked and angry than necessary, while the ‘victim’ was sitting on the ground here, hello? sir?
After a while of shouting and commotion, the room finally fell silent. All three were silent, with two unfamiliar boys observing, one had his arms crossed and looked at her as if assessing a strange creature, while the other stood there drinking tea as if nothing had happened.
She sat there, resting her hands on her thighs as if she were being scolded by her parents, even though the boy in front of her was a whole different level of 'troublemaker'.
His attire was rebellious – a white tank top with the words 'Rock and Roll' printed on it, a black sleeveless jacket over it, and ripped jeans of the same color. Metal rings studded with spikes around his neck and wrists made him look like a mad dog with the words 'it bites, don't touch' practically written on his face.
After a moment of letting herself be judged, she finally spoke, stammering
“E-excuse me…who are you?"
"Hah?! That's what I should be asking!" —But the blonde guy snapped back at the question:
“Who the fuck are you, suddenly appearing in my room?!”
“I- How would I know! I was suddenly brought to this godforsaken place and met weirdos like you, and you're asking me?!”
“Huh?! Who are you calling an idiot, you bitch—”
“Ahem”
Upon hearing the clearing of the throat, all attention immediately shifted to the ‘drinking tea’ guy earlier.
And now she noticed that this guy was dressed just as strangely as the blonde.
He had neat, short black hair, and a pair of long horns with faint red streaks running along the back of his head. He had a long, black tail that looked quite like a cat's tail, gently swaying behind him.
His attire was exactly like that of a butler: a white shirt, a black tie, a neat waistcoat, and his hands clasped behind his back. Ignoring the tail and horns, anyone would believe this was a model butler… though his habit of drinking tea while the spiky, hedgehog-like blond-haired fellow went berserk didn't quite fit the description.
And his eyes were also quite distinctive, deep black irises with diamond-shaped red pupils in the center, like the diamonds in a deck of cards. Faint dark circles under his eyes made him look somewhat weary, but his gaze was sharp and alert.
After seeing that he had attracted everyone's attention, he spoke up before the hedgehog could cause a scene.
“Young master, I think we should calm down and listen carefully to the situation before questioning anything-”
“Calm down my ass! That bitch just now stuck her butt on my guitar!”
She was startled and looked behind her where she had just fallen.
In the corner of the room was a yellow bass guitar, decorated with lightning bolts and some funny stickers. And according to the guy's claim that she had just rested her butt on the guitar, the accused would like to refute that the guitar still looked very nice and new in the corner of the room, sir.
Aaron sighed softly, ignoring the 'master's' indignation and turning his gaze to her
“How about you introduce yourself first? And tell me what happened before you arrived here?”
She blinked at his words before raising her hand to scratch her chin, trying to remember what she had done before coming here
“H-huh—um… I had just come home from school… and was resting when suddenly a red light enveloped the room… oh right! And a five-pointed star appeared right on the floor-”
“Wait. Just came home from school?” — The blond interrupted, looking at her with a frown
“Who the fuck still goes to school during summer vacation?”
“...”
“...”
“Summer?!”
The two stared at each other as if they had just spoken in an alien language. Meanwhile, Aaron merely raised an eyebrow slightly, his eyes briefly showing he understood something.
He was about to speak when the brat yelled at her
“What are you staring at?! It’s clearly summer vacation! Besides, you look so fucking poor, you couldn’t possibly afford extra tutoring-!”
“Huh?! Look at yourself, you idiot! You’re wearing ripped jeans!”
“Hey! That’s called style! Don’t you know jeans are in style now-”
“Style my foot—”
“Hmm… this sounds like the beginning of some romantic story, doesn’t it?”
“Romantic my ass?!”
Both of them shouted in unison as the word 'romantic' escaped the butler’s lips, their faces flushed red with embarrassment and anger.
Aaron merely shrugged, casually taking another sip of tea - she swore he hadn't been holding a cup just now, whispering 'how romantic,' but loud enough for both of them to hear, making their faces flush.
Waiting for the argument to die down, Aaron turned to her, his voice calm
“I noticed you don’t have horns or a tail, I wonder why?”
“Huh? Horns? A tail? Aren’t you guys in costumes?”
“The fuck you mean costume?” — The blond guy flicked his long tail behind him, pointing it straight at her
“Does my tail look like some shit ass kind of costume you can buy at the market?”
The black tail wagged back and forth right in front of her. She stared wide-eyed, taking a few seconds to comprehend what she saw before quickly flicking the tail out of her sight and screaming
“Ah!! What the hell?! It- it moved?!”
“Hey, you brat! I let you admire it, and you dare to push it away?!”
“Admire what?! What are you people anyway?!”
“Hey! That’s what I should be asking! What kind of creatures are you to be in my room?!”
“You-”
“Ahem”
Both immediately fell silent as the black-haired guy cleared his throat again, then continued to ask questions despite their current confusion
“What are you?”
“H-huh? What—what do you mean?”
“Your species”
She blinked several times, her mind almost overloaded
“Species? Uh—um… humans?-”
“Hooman?!”
“It's pronounced 'human', sir-”
“You're a hooman?!?”
The golden hedgehog's eyes widened in disbelief, and his sudden approach and the way he looked at her with such bright eyes only made the girl more confused.
Before she could figure out what was happening, he asked her in a excited tone
“You said you're hooman?!"
“Huh- uh- yeah…?”
“Hooman, isn't that the god’s favorite out of all creatures in the living world?!”
“W-what?”
“No wonder I didn't see any horns, a tail, or even a trace of energy emanating from you! I also didn't smell that familiar demonic scent from you!”
“Smell? Scent? What do you mean?-”
“Young master, I believe it would be beneficial for us to carefully explain to this human about her situation, especially considering the unexpected circumstances that brought her here”
“Oh- yeah right…”
Hearing Aaron's reminder, the blond stepped back, cleared his throat, put on a serious expression, placed his hands on his hips, and continued speaking in a less excited tone than before.
“Uhm, well~ you know~”
“Know what?”
“Welcome to HELL, scentless bitch! My name is Derek Mammon! The proud son of Duke Kerwin from the marvelous land of Eduard, part of the land of greed known as Avaritia! Feel grateful for being able to meet ME-”
“WAIT! HELL?! D-does that mean… you are a devil?!”
“Exactly! Luckily you aren’t sTUpid like the rumors-”
“How the heck am I in hell?! You're just pranking me, right? What the hell is the son of a duke! You don't look like someone from a noble family at all!”
“Hey! The fuck do you mean HUH?!”
“How romantic-”
“SHUT UP!”
They both immediately shouted to cover the ‘outsider’s mouth so he wouldn't say anything stupid again.
She stepped back, closed her eyes, and tried to calm herself, her mind racing with thoughts of how she'd gotten there and Derek's earlier words: 'It was strange that I suddenly appeared here from the start.'
After sorting out her thoughts, she finally accepted her situation and opened her eyes, intending to ask the man to explain more about this place he called hell. However, the moment she opened her eyes, she was horrified to see the idiotic, deranged hedgehog's face pressed right against hers.
She screamed and instinctively punched him straight in the face, sending him tumbling backward and screaming in pain as he clutched his nose. 'Surely it's not broken, is it? He's a demon after all…' she thought, seeing the hedgehog now sprawled on the floor after the punch, and continuously throwing words full of 'love' into her last brain cell.
She sighed deeply and glanced at the person who was currently the chillest guy in the room. She saw that he was just looking at them with a raised eyebrow while sipping tea from a cup that seemed to deceive one's perception of their surroundings – she still had no idea where he got that tea cup from.
When the screaming that pierces her hearing is finally stopped, she thought Derek had somehow lost his voice or run out of breath, but he shattered her illusion by suddenly appearing in front of her, making her jump back in surprise. He merely snorted at her reaction and asked her the question that had been bothering him all along.
“What’s yo name?”
“Huh- oh right, I forgot to introduce myself, didn't I?”
She scratched her chin, hesitating for a moment before replying
“Uhm… My name is Paisley Smith-”
“Woah, a very hooman name- right Aaron?”
Derek smirked, pointing his finger at her face as if she were a monkey in a zoo. Aaron glanced at his master and nodded
“Yes, I heard that Smith is a very popular last name in the human world. And I would like to restate that HUman is the correct pronunciation, sir-”
“YeAh yEaH, whatever!”
Derek waved his hand dismissively, ignoring Aaron's reminder, and turned to her, continuing
“How about we take turns introducing ourselves? I'm Derek Mammon, thirteen years old... oh, and the brat next to me is Aaron Mammon, he's also thirteen. Your turn!”
“Huh- uhm… I’m Paisley Smith, thirtee-”
"You're the same age as me!” —Derek exclaimed, then quickly coughed.
“Ah- ahem... keep talking”
“Keep talking? But what am I supposed to say next?”
“Are you stupid or some shits?! Of course you have to talk about your life so I can know how to help you to come back!”
“You can stop making yourself a savior young master, I’m pretty sure that you don’t want to help or anything like that, you just simply want to know more about humans so you can stop being a liar”
“HAH?! Hey! I’m not lying you little-”
Ignoring Derek's objections, Aaron simply turned and looked directly into her eyes
“So, you’re human right?”
“Huh- oh, yeah…”
“And you don’t know how you got here?”
“Yes…”
“In that case” — Aaron said slowly
“I’ll go inform the Duke, he’ll present this to the Prince. Then they’ll find a way to get you back to the human world and erase your memories of this place—”
“Wait!”
Derek immediately interrupted, lunging forward, grabbing Aaron’s shoulder, and pulling him close - though not in a low voice.
“Can you use your brain for once, Aaron!”
“I think you're the brainless one here, sir”
“Hah?! Shut your bullshit!”
“Whatever you say, I'll still inform the duke-”
“NO! Just think about it bro! It's really rare to meet a real human so if we keep her for a few days just to learn more about humans, it won't be a big deal! We can just tell the old man later!”
“...”
After their not-so-secret conversation, Derek turned to her without waiting for Aaron's reply, clearing his throat before speaking
“Well~ We decided that today we feel like we want to be a good devil, so I'll help you find a way to return to the human world, in exchange for you telling me more about your world... What do you think?”
“Good devil?” — She raised an eyebrow
“I don’t think those two words go together”
“Hah?! You dare reject my offer?!”
“How romantic-”
“SHUT UP!”
She chuckled softly at the hedgehog's exaggerated reaction to her sarcasm and… the stupid remark from mister ‘how romantic’.
Derek abruptly turned his head towards Paisley when he heard her laughter, making her wonder if his neck is okay. He pointed his index finger at her face and yelled
“Then do you accept it or not HUH?!”
“Huh- oh uhm- I… accept?”
“Good! Now, in order to help you understand hell better…”
Derek returned to the overturned shelf, rummaging through the pile of things on the floor while muttering something like a spell, causing her to tilt her head in curiosity.
After a while, he finally found what he needed and exclaimed, “Here it is!” She looked at what he held in his hand and saw that it was a folded piece of paper.
The blond hedgehog ran to an empty corner of the room and spread the paper out on the floor. It was a large map, divided into several areas with different colors.
He turned to her and gestured for her to come closer. Paisley glanced at Aaron, hoping he would tell her what the hedgehog was doing, but he just shrugged and walked over to Derek, who was crouching on the ground. She sighed and went over to them and sat down.
At this close distance, she could see the map more clearly. With those strange names, she guessed it was a map of this place called hell.
After seeing that she was completely focused on the map, Derek pointed to a light brown area with the name 'Avaritia' printed on it
“This is Avaritia, and as I said before, where we are now is Eduard - the northeastern territory of Avaritia,” Derek said, taking his hand off the map as he continued.
Paisley immediately recalled the introduction from earlier
"Earlier you said your father was Duke Kerwin of Eduard…?"
“Yeah” — Derek snorted in response
“My old man is the lord who rules this area."
Paisley's eyes widened at that information, and Aaron continued, explaining further
"Hell is divided into seven continents, each ruled by a prince, and Avaritia is under the rule of Prince Mammon."
"Wait a minute, Mammon? Isn't that your last name? And isn't that the name of the greedy demon in the Bible—"
“That’s right!” – Derek replied proudly
“The princes established families bearing their names to support their rule, and my family is a northeastern branch of the Mammon family. The heads of each branch are empowered by the prince and given the authority to govern a separate territory – they are called lords”
“Woah, so the Duke Kerwin you were talking about earlier is a lord, right? And he’s your father too?”
“Yep! Scared yet?”
Before Paisley could reply, Aaron suddenly clapped his hands, interrupting their conversation and drawing their attention back to him
““And as you may already know, this place is only for sinners, like demons, or in other words, residents of hell”
He looked at Paisley, continuing his explanation as she focused
“Why? Simply because this is hell, a place where only those burdened with sins from their past lives are reincarnated. It’s forbidden for living beings from the human world, like humans, to come to hell before death or judgment”
“Wait, reincarnation? Aren't sinners come here immediately after death?”
“No” — Aaron shook his head
“When a person dies, their soul is first taken to heaven for judgment. If their karma is light, they will be reborn as a human in the human world. If their karma is heavy, they will be banished to the tower of Punishment also known as Vindicta to be punished for all the crimes they committed while alive”
“And what happen after that?”
“After serving their sentence, they will be reborn. But not as a human. They might be a low-level creature in the human world… or worse, become a resident of hell”
Aaron looked at her, his gaze lowered
“Because once born in hell, simply existing here is a sin. If a demon dies, it’s banished straight to Vindicta without trial… I’m not sure if demons can reincarnate, but if they can, nobody knows”
Paisley frowned slightly at that, ‘Isn’t that a little… unfair?’
Then Aaron tapped lightly on the map, bringing the conversation back to the main point
“As I said, Avaritia is ruled by Prince Mammon. The other six continents are ruled by six different Princes. Each place is characterized by a different sin”
Derek crossed his arms, grinning smugly
“Ha! And not only that, our continent is the richest in Hell!”
“Richest… you said?”
“Duh! Those stranded fish can’t even compare~”
“Huh? What do you mean—?”
Aaron clapped his hands loudly, interrupting their conversation
“Back to the main point” — he said calmly
“Avaritia, also known as the land of Fire, is the hottest of the seven continents, and also the financial center of Hell, considering its thriving tourism industry and the fact that its prince holds over eighty percent of the entire realm’s budget”
“E-Eighty percent?!?”
“That’s right”
He then moved his finger to the blue area next to Avaritia
“This is Invidia, also known as the land of Ocean. One of the two rare places with natural water sources. This continent is ruled by Prince Leviathan, currently ranked third in power.”
“Wait… so what’s Prince Mammon’s ranking in terms of power?”
“Near last”
“...”
“...”
It seems she unintentionally offended someone's pride…
“Ahem—Lord Leviathan is in charge of protecting both the northern and western seas, and… the people of Avaritia don’t like us very much”
“Huh? Why?”
“Because they’re jealous of us, that’s why!”
Derek suddenly yelled, almost deafening her. He slapped his thigh and continued his slanderous remarks about other nations
“Those guys are jealous of the people of Avaritia because we are richer than them and our prince contributes more to hell! Every time we want to cooperate with them, they have to make things difficult! Even if we just want to have some water so we won't die of thirst, they have to be a bitch and charge a drop of water equal to fifty gold bars!"
“Jezz-”
“That’s enough, young master. Please let me explain everything about the continents first, then we can do whatever we want”
“Yeah yeah~”
Aaron sighed wearily and continued to impart his knowledge to her
“And to the east of us is Gula – the land of Poison, also known as the Kingdom of the Flies. It’s ruled by Prince Beelzebub, known as the King of the Flies and the second strongest.”
Aaron’s eyes showed a fleeting expression, almost a hint of nostalgia, as he spoke of this place, but it was only momentary
“Gula is famous for manufacturing and trading poisons and potions, and especially… it’s the only place that legally sells things forbidden on other continents, like… slaves”
“W-What?!”
“The ban on slave trading was issued by the king centuries ago, but Gula is currently the only place that hasn’t complied with the decree. And because Prince Beelzebub plays a crucial role in the security of Hell, the king is temporarily turning a blind eye”
Paisley frowned slightly upon hearing this.
It was unfair. She knew this was Hell, but…it was still so unfair.
Aaron continued, pointing to Luxuria, his expression remaining calm as if the information he had just received was perfectly normal
“Next to Gula is Luxuria, the continent ruled by Prince Asmodeus. It’s known for its towering skyscrapers and… services that satisfy its users”
She blinked before blushing as she understood what he meat
“It’s also called the land of Thunder because Luxuria is the main electric power source for all of Hell, but that name has gradually faded from memory as people now call it the Empire of Prostitution because… it’s a land of lust.”
“Oh…”
He then pointed to an area right next to Invidia, colored green with the name Ira printed on it – a rather memorable name that reminded her of Iran because the names are quite similar
“This is Ira – the land of Nature, right next to Invidia and the second place in Hell with water. It’s known for its diverse vegetation and abundant creatures, but it’s also quite dangerous”
Paisley didn’t The explanation made her forget the Amazon rainforest, 'I wonder if the creatures living here were similar to those in the human world…'
“And the prince who rules here – Behemoth – is a nature conservationist, so this is also the least developed continent because both the people and outsiders are forced to live in harmony with nature, prohibiting deforestation and limiting technology. Throw away luxury, mingle with water, eat soil and sand, become one with sky... is the life motto of people from the land of Nature”
“Wow… who are they, Tarzan?” — Paisley muttered
Then she looked at the map again and saw that she only had two more areas to explore in the seven continents of Hell.
But then she noticed the drawings on the map, which included trees, mountains, and volcanoes to mark the mountainous terrain of each area, but one drawing caught her attention, 'Palaces?'
She could see four palaces in three different locations, the king's palace in Superbia, along with one belonging to Baphomet? Perhaps she would ask about that later, the next was the Leviathan palace in the center of Invidia; and finally… the queen's?
Why were the king and queen in two different palaces so far apart? And she noticed that the queen's location was colored gray - the same color as Superbia, so she guessed the queen's location was within that territory, but why were they so far apart?
Seemingly sensing her curiosity, Aaron spoke up before she could ask anything
““As for why the Queen’s and King’s palaces are so far apart, I’ll explain it to you later when I talk about Superbia”
“Ah- okay…”
And so the two continued talking about the next continent, ignoring the hedgehog's long yawns beside them
“The next place is Acedia, known by many names such as the land of mist, the land of illusions, the land of dreams, and so on… but its most famous name is the Dream Kingdom”
“The Dream Kingdom? But why is it called that?”
“Because Acedia is famous for its enchantments and hallucinations, the second reason is that it’s shrouded in a thick fog created by the prince who rules it - Belphegor, who represents laziness and doubt”
Speaking of laziness, there’s some blonde guy dozing off next to her…
““Although Lord Belphegor is the weakest of the princes, that’s because he never participates in any of the rankings. He also contributes the least to hell because the prince stays within his territory all day long. The only two times people saw his presence were when the king gave the Gem of spirit as proof of his princely title, and the second was during the Tumultus War, where Prince Belphegor was there to assist the demon army in the war-”
“Huh? The gem of spirit? Tumultus war? What are those-”
“And the last place is Superbia, which is a continent governed by the strongest prince - Lucifer, also known as the Angel of Darkness”
He immediately changed the subject without telling her, and she tilted her head in confusion but decided not to ask further and continued to listen
“This place is known as the land of darkness or shadow kingdom, this is where the people mainly have a high position as well as where the king lives. As for the reason why the queen is living far away from the king, according to rumors, it is because of ‘marriage problems’”
“…”
“…”
“J-just that? That’s all??”
“Yes”
She was speechless at the queen's audacity. 'She built an entire palace to avoid her husband... what a remarkable woman.'
Aaron finally folded the map and stood up, saying
"Now I'll go report your matter to the Duke-"
“H-huh??”
“WAiT!”
That Derek guy, as if possessed by a demon… wait a minute- as if splashed with water in the face, he immediately sat up and grabbed the dark-haired guy’s shirt, making his earlier sprawled-out sleeping posture look like a Hollywood performance.
He angrily clung to Aaron - who was like a robot following his own path, trying to hold him back as if someone were trying to hold onto someone who was no longer theirs… certainly not her, since she was still single.
The hedgehog kept yelling at Aaron to stop, even though he looked completely unfazed, as if there wasn’t a monkey clinging to his shirt.
Paisley stood there, watching the scene of a monkey clinging to the butler’s shirt as if it were an everyday occurrence.
And then she rubbed her forehead.
Just a few dozen minutes ago, she had been lying in her dark room at home.
Now she's in hell, listening to a lecture on the geography and politics of hell, and witnessing two dudes with horns arguing because… they're curious about humans.
What on earth has she gotten herself into?
