Another day, another prank! Waru chuckled to himself mischievously as he crept towards the bathroom, green dye in hand. The prank of the day was simple enough: adding the dye to the next batch of laundry so it would come out green. He couldn't wait to see the look on Romeo's face as his precious new clothes came out the wrong color.
His scheming was interrupted by the sound of footsteps headed in his direction. Someone else was moving towards the bathroom. Time to hide.
Felix and Romeo were headed towards the bathroom, chattering away as usual. Spade and Kuromaku were watching some history documentary on TV, Dante was asleep, Gabriel was staring intently at some ants on the windowsill, and Brolly was sketching something in his notebook. Everyone was occupied, and nobody noticed Waru ducking behind the sofa.
"I don't see why Fëdor can't just buy us new clothes instead of making us wash the old ones," Romeo sighed dramatically.
"That would be insanely expensive, not to mention wasteful," Kuromaku countered.
"I'm surprised he's even letting us use the washing machine after what that rat Waru did last time," Felix frowned.
"That's a good thing to keep in mind, actually," Kuromaku said, furrowing his eyebrows. "Be careful when you do your laundry this time. There's no doubt the little scoundrel's planned another one of his idiotic schemes, like dyeing all your clothes green."
Waru deflated just a little. The prank wouldn't be as funny if someone had already predicted it. He needed to be wild, wacky, unpredictable. The kind of person that kept everyone on their toes thinking "oh no, what's Waru gonna do this time?" Maybe he could alter it a little.
"Psh, he can do better than that," Spade chimed in. "Remember that time he made up a fake pandemic so everyone would be forced into lockdown and he'd get customers for his underground casino?"
"COVID-19 was not a hoax, Spade," Kuromaku sighed.
"As if you'd know."
"Regardless, I'll begrudgingly admit that Waru is surprisingly capable when it comes to pranks. I've seen him display a shocking amount of knowledge about obscure topics if they can be used for… whatever it is he wants to do," the gray clone said, arms folded.
"I like Waru. He's funny," Gabriel piped up.
"Gabriel!" Felix admonished him lightly, frowning.
"It's true though, I thought the thing with the whipped cream the other day was actually kind of funny," Romeo said, stifling a giggle.
"And don't forget the plastic flamingo incident! Or the one with the electric fan… oh, and the one with the potato salad," Brolly smiled fondly, recalling some of Waru's more harmless pranks that had highly amused him.
"I can't wait to see what he comes up with next!" Gabriel said, still smiling. Felix narrowed his eyes.
"Well, I'll go put these in the washing machine," Romeo said, carrying his laundry basket to the bathroom. He placed the clothes inside the washing machine, added the detergent, turned it on, and left.
Having emerged from his hiding spot behind the sofa, Waru approached the washing machine, green lenses hiding dull eyes, not even a hint of a smile on his face. He paused the washing machine, chucked the whole bottle of dye into it, and slammed it shut. Then he trudged away, scowling. Another day, another prank.
