After the events of the Sea of Death taking over, the sea was quiet, completely silent, other than the occasional bloodcurdling scream. Tatsumiya had quickly gotten used to it. It had been 3 days since the incident. Those 3 days felt like years. The members of the Red Sea had gone on a mass genocide, killing every citizen of the Blue Sea. Tatsumiya, however, was unfortunately a different case. She was kept alive, though, this was due to Old's hatred of her, he requested that she'd be kept alive, simply just so he torture her until she breaks. Currently, Tatsumiya has no knowledge where the shark is, and she'd probably rather have it that way. She was sat on the floor, her back leaned against a wall. She was covered in dried blood and bruises, given to her by none other than Old. Scattered across the room, were various bloodied weapons and tools. Her right ankle was secured in a tight chain, keeping her in the dark room. From the door, which was left a crack open, a tad bit of red lighting entered the room, reflecting off of her chains. The door, however was not opened wide enough for the bound oarfish to sneak a peek outside, as she couldn't walk closer either, having no energy left from struggling against her binds to no avail.
At this point, Tatsumiya embraced death, anything to end the turmoil she constantly felt. She wished she could see herself in a mirror one last time, she wished she could see her loved ones one last time, she wished..
She wished she could see her dear Wadanohara one last time.
Thinking about Wadanohara, Gosh... who knows what those sick freaks did to her? She could be in a similar state Tatsumiya was in, or she could even be dead...
Tears started forming in the oarfish's eyes, as she tried to blink them back, she couldn't help but cry. She promised to keep Wadanohara safe, she promised Lord Meikai that she'd always keep Wadanohara safe. She broke her promise. She broke Meikai's trust. Tatsumiya broke, and the tears started streaming down her face, as she mutters quietly, her voice below a whisper, "Lord Meikai.. I'm sorry. I'm sorry for allowing this to happen. I'm sorry for not protecting your daughter. Please--" she sniffled, "--Please forgive me, I... I tried my best to not allow anything to happen, I'm sorry."
Tatsumiya continued apologizing, to everyone, to herself, to Meikai.. repeating those words, knowing she'd never truly know if she was forgiven or not.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry for everything. I'm such a failure," She whispered under her breath, praying nobody would walk in on her during such a vulnerable moment, and in such a frail state too..
She buried her face in her sleeves, ensuring no one would see the tears spilling out of her eyes, dampening her already ruined clothes.
Soon, 3 hours passed. Tatsumiya had calmed down slightly, though tears still threatened to spill out. She looked at the ceiling, finding nothing else to occupy herself with in the dim room, maybe she should try to sleep. That could pass some time, and help her rest up a bit more for the next torture session. She shut her eyes, and leaned her body weight completely against the wall behind her, aiming to get into a comfortable position as she begged to enter dream land.
That was until...
The door slammed against the wall, with a piercing thud. Tatsumiya immediately tensed up, though keeping her eyes closed. She had assumed the worst, it was probably Old coming back from whatever he usually did. After a moment of hesitance, she slowly opened her eyes, instead making eye contact with a pure white shark. He was dressed in quite a formal fashion, wearing a suit and dress shoes, and his hair was combed neatly. It wasn't common to see someone look so tidy, especially in the current state of the sea. The shark had piercing red eyes, which made Tatsumiya sick to look at, however, she did feel like he looked.. familiar, in a way. Like someone she'd seen before.
The two kept eye contact a moment too long, before the shark turned his back and spoke to someone who was most likely behind him, a sickeningly sweet and higher pitched tone, "Wada-Chan~! Do you want to come see your dear ol' caretaker?"
Tatsumiya's breath caught in her throat. That voice was all-too familiar.. this was..
Syakesan.
The albino shark who always hung around the kingdom. This.. was him, and the person he seemed to speaking to..
was Wadanohara.
Tatsumiya couldn't believe the implications, Wadanohara was alive, and with Syakesan. He was speaking to her right now, and Tatsumiya didn't even notice that her jaw was basically dropped right now. Soon enough, she heard another familiar voice, which was a bit farther away, "I'll be there in a moment, my love! Please wait!"
Tatsumiya couldn't deny it, that was Wadanohara. She was alive, she was actually alive right now. The oarfish couldn't fathom how, but she was still here. Soon, she heard rushed footsteps coming closer, and the white shark, resting his arm on the door, smiled.
Shortly after, a petite figure came in view, clothed in red, with her eyes a similar red to Syakesan. Atop the girl's head, was a red hat, the underneath of it covered in eyes, which seemed to bore into Tatsumiya's very soul. Unlike the shark, the girl seemed slightly messy, but still dressed well. This girl was Meikai's once-beloved daughter, Wadanohara. She said something to Syakesan, however Tatsumiya was not focusing on what she was saying, she was too focused on the fact that this was the Sea Witch. She.. looked different, not different enough to look like another person, but similar enough to know that this was infact Wadanohara.
She looked as if she belonged to The Sea of Death, sending a shiver down Tatsumiya's spine, however, that couldn't be true! It must've just been a disguise, to keep her safe! Though.. it looked much too real to be a disguise. As Wadanohara finished speaking, she turned to the bound oarfish, her smug expression faltering for a moment, and she frowned, "Tatsu... miya?"
The witch's expression was soft, with clear sadness in it. Tatsumiya, was horrified. What happened to the sweet child she once knew? Unlike the two, Syakesan was off to the side, snickering, "Wada, my dear.. do tell your 'mother' how much you've changed! For the better, of course, eheheh..."
Wadanohara turned to Syakesan, her expression still bitter, but underneath it, Tatsumiya noticed... fear? Wadanohara responded, "Of course, honey..." The witch turned back to the oarfish, stepping closer and kneeling down, whispering, "Please forgive me--" she brushed a strand of hair from Tatsumiya's face, "--I did something terrible."
The witch got up, smirking as if nothing happened, she turned to Syakesan, then back to Tatsumiya, her tone now sing-songy, "What do you think, 'mum'? I joined the Sea of Death! I look different now, don't I? Eheheheh~" She placed a hand on her chest, emphasizing what she had just said. Tatsumiya's eyes filled with tears once more as she heard the confirmation, this sweet girl, had joined the Sea of Death.
"W-why.. and how?" Tatsumiya stuttered, barely getting the words out, Wadanohara giggled and twirled, before looking back at the oarfish, "Oh, you know.. this sweet shark taught me something new, and we had some fun! Isn't that correct, honey?" She turned her gaze to Syakesan, whom was still smiling, "Of course, my love!"
Tatsumiya noticed how they were calling eachother pet names, possibly implying they were in a relationship. Wadanohara spoke once more, "I'll be forever grateful you didn't listen to my whines and complaining.. thank you for taking me right then and there! I wouldn't have listened otherwise!" Tatsumiya's eyes widened in terror, the tears still streaming, she listened and realized...
Wadanohara didn't consent, she was raped. That's why she looks so different, that's why she...
Syakesan playfully tapped Wadanohara on her nose, "Oh, no need to thank me, my dear! It was my pleasure..." Tatsumiya thought this was even worse, this sick fuck took PLEASURE in raping Wadanohara and turning her into.. whatever this was. All she wanted to right now was to embrace Wadanohara and hold her close, but the chain kept her firmly secured to the wall, and all she could do was weep.
Sometime passed, with Wadanohara and Syakesan casually flirting, while Tatsumiya was helpless and could do nothing but watch. Syakesan turned his gaze to the latter, before speaking to Wadanohara, "We should go now!- I don't think Old-Sama would be glad to see us here!" Wadanohara went silent, staring at Tatsumiya, then looking back up at Syakesan, nodding sadly, "Okay, whatever you say."
Syakesan took Wadanohara by her gloved hand, placing a gentle kiss on it, before they both exited the room, closing the door completely, leaving Tatsumiya in the dark, completely alone with her thoughts.
Now that she was alone, she let out all the tears she'd been struggling to hold back, she didn't care how loud she was. She wanted her feelings out.
Sometimes, no, always, she wished she never failed Lord Meikai.
