Work Text:
Early mornings, when sun has not yet rised above the horizon was the perfect time when lightkeepers woke. Or, at least it should of been, if it were not that Illuga has overworked himself and was now lying in his bed with an annoying cold. He, of course would had ignored it, but the day before he had fallen from fatigue right before Flins. Which, to be honest was one of the biggest mistakes he has made in years, as of now, Flins like a hawk was keeping an eye on him.
Flins came in the bedroom with a cup of tea, one of those rare ones right from Inazuma: "Master Illuga, you should have some tea, its said to be a very good against cold." He placed the cup on a nightstand and sat on bed beside a figure which was under the blankets.
He was quietly watching the figure. For an ordinary eye it would seem like the person under the blankets was asleep, but small details - like breath that was taken a bit too fast, eyes that so so slightly trembled feeling the watchful gaze - gave away that it just a careful act.
Flins didn't say anything anymore and brushed some hair away from Illuga's forehead. Seeing younger man's eyes flutter made him smile even if just a bit. It has been so long since he has seen the younger rest (even if it wasn't completely voluntary).
It seemed like time stopped - Flins sitting there, occasionally ruffling his hand though Illuga's hair, and Illuga continuing to lie in bed. Maybe this was even better - there was no need to rush, just two of them coexisting in their own world.
After what seemed like hours Illuga moved blankets down a bit to look at Flins with a gaze mix of judgement and calmness. Flins, seeing the other finally giving him any kind of response, smiled and slowly rised. "Master Illuga, it seems that you have awoken now. I'll go make you a new tea, as this one might be too cold now."
Seeing that Illuga frowned, but did stop Flins from going. Instead Illuga moved a bit to comfortably sit with his back against headboard. He looked around for a moment, regretting that he didn't have anything to pass time, as he most of the time was busy doing paperwork or patrols. And of course, right now those things were out of question, as then not only Illuga would have troubles with Flins but with his father too. Whom Illuga, didn't want to worry any more that he already did.
It didn't take long for Flins to come back with a newly made cup of tea. He, once again, placed it on nightstand, and with now having his hands free, sat next to Illuga and checked his forehead. "Mmm.. It seems.. Like you have gotten a slightly bit better, now that you've have had a healthy amount of sleep. If you keep it up, soon you would be back to health once again." Flins gave Illuga encouraging smile and handed him the cup of tea.
After a while of drinking tea, Illuga gave it back to Flins, who was already waiting for that. After the cup was out of danger zone of spilling, Illuga finally spoke. "You surely know that you are not obliged to watch over me, right? Don't you have work to do, back at lighthouse?" Flins sighed a bit and took Illuga's hands in his own, before speaking. "Master Illuga, you're speaking this, as if, if I were not here, you wouldn't be doing a patrol right now. Besides, can't I take care of my reckless boyfriend?"
A little blush started to show on Illuga's cheeks, that Flins was completely sure, didn't have any relation to the cold that he had. The Fae moved a bit closer and hugged the younger. "Dear Master Illuga, you should really take care of your health, otherwise, you might get forgetful. That surely wouldn't be ideal, as you then would visit me even rarer."
Illuga laid his head on Flins' shoulder. Like usual, Flins was as warm as a fireplace, or maybe the fire itself, Illuga already knew the reason why, but still, it was suprising even now. That warmth felt like soft blanket now, so nice even that Illuga started feeling drowsy. "I'm sure that even if I did forget about that, you would be there to remind me, wouldn't you?" Illuga quietly said and before Flins had any chance of responding, fell asleep.
