Summary
“So, uh, Mike,” Will leans back over the toilet bowl, partially in case the nausea comes back in full force, partially so he can avoid Mike’s gaze, “why are you here?” Will knows the answer, but he figures he should ask anyway.
“It was too empty,” Mike says, “and I just felt, like…” His heel must be hitting something on the floor, because now Will can hear the erratic rhythm of Mike’s bouncing legs.
“You felt the absence?” Will asks. Mike has been staying over on the couch in Hopper’s cabin when he can’t sleep. His house, once the hub of activity, had suddenly become a relic of what once was. Mike was slowly suffocating in the silence. Will understands that.
