Work Text:
A few months prior
Isha slipped downstairs, finding Jinx watching TV. She looks up, pausing the television.
"Isha, what's wrong? You should be in bed."
Isha sniffles and goes over to Jinx, curling into her side. "I-I'm thinking about my gender. I don't think I'm a girl."
Jinx stiffens in surprise for a moment, before relaxing. "And you know that'd be okay, right? Why don't we talk about this tomorrow? You should get some sleep."

You fucking faggot!
♡☆alex☆♡ 3:14pm
You can't call me that. You're not gay.
pinkkkk✨ 3:14pm
In my bio it says that I like boobs, so I'm bi!
♡☆alex☆♡ 3:16pm
You always do this! You always say you're straight when it's beneficial for you, and then you say you're bi so that you can get privileges! Fuck you! "Straight but i like boobs so idk" doesn't mean bi!

Guys, please calm down..
♡☆alex☆♡ 3:17pm
I'm going to kill myself tonight, and nobody can stop me.
isha°° 3:17pm°°
.I'm killing myself too
The bus stops at her stop, and she gets off, beginning to walk home. Tears are streaming down her face, and she looks around to try to make a plan for how she would do it. How she would end it.
Her phone rings. Jinx.
"Isha? Hey, where are you? Talk to me."
"J-Jinx? I'm walking home. What is it?" She chokes back another sob.
"Vi messaged me and said River said you were going to kill yourself. Are you safe? Is there anyone around?" Jinx was truly panicked. She couldn't lose Isha, not now.
"N-No, there's nobody around. I'm sorry, I didn’t want to worry you.." She's pathetic. She wants to kill herself just because her friends got into an argument. She should've killed herself a long time ago.
"Hey, hey, please don't be sorry. I'm heading home from the workshop, alright? Stay on the call with me until I'm home." Keys jingling and fast-paced footsteps can be heard in the background.
"O-Okay.."
Later, when Jinx is home
The two of them sit on the couch.
"What triggered all of this? The counselor at school called me last month and said you were having these thoughts, but it wasn't that severe," Jinx asks gently.
Isha curls into herself. "I don't want you to be mad..."
"I'm not mad, and I won't be mad about whatever you're going to say. I want to respect your privacy, but this is becoming an issue of safety. Please, tell me."
Isha takes a deep breath. Will Jinx even care? Will this change anything? "I... I've been going by they/them pronouns. With my friends. I think it's just getting to me."
"Oh, Isha... You could've told me before it got this bad. You know I support you no matter what, right?" She hugs Isha. "Do you want to start using they/them pronouns with people in real life too?"
Isha nods.
"Alright, I can do that. Why don't we watch a movie and get takeout tonight? Let's take it easy."
