The phone shatters against the wall, startling Esther.
Ricky is not an angry man.
Ricky is a righteous man, an empathetic man, a proactive man.
She doesn't have to have seen the screen to know the news article that had broken him.
An innocent person was hurt because of the misinformation spread about this damned pandemic. An Asian person.
Esther knew what it was like to be judged by the color of her skin or her gender but she didn't know this. She didn't know what it was like to be seen as patient zero.
They sit in silent rage.
