Yongbok notices something odd between her parents. Her father seems to purposely pisses her mother off at random time and make her mother angry for no reason. Sure, usually Seungmin loves to tease Minho just as much too because he is a menace after all, but these days, some of the teases are nonsense. Like when he said 'you can draw with both hands?' when obviously everyone knows Minho's capability to do that, it confuses Yongbok a lot.
So, that night, when Seungmin tucks Yongbok in her bed, she decides to express her curiosity.
"Hmmm, because I used to act differently when you were in Mama's tummy, and it made Mama upset" Seungmin answers calmly, but it gets the little girl's attention right away. Maybe this story will be her bedtime story tonight.
"What do you mean, Papa?" She asks, eyes sparkling with curiosity. Seungmin smiles softly, then as he tells the story, he holds the Yongbok's tiny hands.
"I think back then, you were just about 2 to 3 months in Mama's tummy. I was told by Grandpa Felix that I should take extra care of Mama when she's pregnant. So, I didn't let her do heavy stuff. One day, she wanted to lift the grocery bags into the car's boot and I stopped her immediately..."
"Babe, just let them be. I'll put them in the trunk" Seungmin quickly took the heavy bag from Minho's grasp before she could lift it higher. Minho let him take it, but she glared at him sharply.
"You can get inside the car first, okay? I'll handle this" he said ever so softly, but he didn't even look at her so he didn't notice the look she had at him. Minho then stomped her way to the car, and slammed the door closed once she got inside. Seungmin didn't question anything, just focused on keeping the groceries without knowing that he made a huge mistake. Only when he got inside the driver's seat, his whole body went cold. He felt like Stonehenge just dropped in his stomach when he saw his wife crying.
"Babe, why are you crying?!" He immediately wanted to give her a hug but she pushed him away. She looked mad, but she couldn't stop the tears from falling.
"You– You don't even love me in the first place!" She expressed her frustration, only to cry worse. Seungmin swore he could turn himself in right at the moment for making his wife think that way. He would never think pregnancy sensitivity was causing the situation.
"No, that's not true, why would you say that?" He cooed softly, tried to hold her hands this time but she snatched it away as well.
"You didn't let me hold heavy stuff!" Minho sobbed, wiping off her tears on her sleeves. Confusing arose instantly, so Seungmin tried to explain himself.
"Of course, I didn't. You are pregnant—”
"Exactly!" She interrupted, made her husband stun as she expressed her upset clearer this time.
"You only act like this because I'm pregnant! You only care about the baby! If you care about me, you will act like this even when I'm not pregnant but you didn't! I hate Kim Seungmin! Kim Seungmin stupid!" She cried, hitting Seungmin over and over again.
"That moment woke something up within me. She was right. Although my initial intention in giving her extra care is because she is physically and emotionally more sensitive when she's pregnant, most likely in her point of view, I only give her extra care and act differently because of the baby. Since then, I decided to take extra care of her all the time, and treat her the same regardless if she's pregnant or not. Mama has that mindset, Princess. She thinks if someone treats her nicely during pregnancy, she will think those acts are because they care about the baby. Not because of her. Only when we tease her or make her angry does she stop getting oversensitive and she's calmer that way"
Seungmin explains until the end, letting his daughter play with his wedding ring as he speaks. Yongbok replies with a long 'oh~' while nodding, although her eyes are focusing on her father's hand, and only after she twists the ring into its proper position does she raise her head to look at her father.
"So, do I need to tease Mama as well?" She asks innocently, making Seungmin chuckles.
"Just treat mama normally, princess. Leave the teasing to papa" he answers, kissing her forehead to wish her a good night.

Bonus :
"Is this the correct way?" Minho asks, as she drives through an unfamiliar path for her. They are going to the hospital for a checkup, and Minho requested to drive so Seungmin showed her the way. As someone who never drives to the hospital all these while, Yongbok and Iyen confirm they are on the right way because they always look out of the windows. So, the question makes them confused but they answer nothing because they know the question is for Seungmin.
"Why did you turn to the left, baby?" Seungmin asks, ever so softly and innocently but it's enough to sound like he is blaming her. Minho gets annoyed right away, sending a glare to her husband who sits next to her.
"You told me so!" She snaps, pushing his arm harshly. Unlike the tense scenario, the aunt and the niece at the back seat instantly burst out laughing. Seungmin also laughs while he chants 'sorry, sorry', avoiding the attack by holding her hand. It calms her at once, she rolls her eyes and focuses on the road again, letting her hand be caressed by her husband.
Seungmin steals a look at the back seat, towards his daughter, specifically, and Yongbok gives him two thumbs up. He just grins before winking, and the little girl winks as well.
