Something watches me every night during sleep paralysis — and it touched me last night
Ever since I moved, I’ve been having nightmares or just really weird dreams in my new place. Almost every night I wake up unable to move, and there's this... presence in the corner of my room. At first I thought it was just a shadow, but now I can see it more clearly — a tall, thin figure with unnaturally long limbs. Last night I felt something cold and slender wrap around my arm, like fingers but too long. It didn't hurt, but it felt deliberate. I also notice my TV sometimes turns on by itself in the middle of the night. I live alone. No pets. No explanation. Has anyone else experienced physical contact during episodes? I'm genuinely scared.

Classic sleep paralysis hallucinations. The brain projects fears into the room. The physical sensation is also common — it's called the "intruder" variant. Try focusing on wiggling your toes, that usually breaks the paralysis.

This gives me the creeps. The TV turning on is weird — hallucinations don't usually affect electronics. Have you considered setting up a camera? If it's real, you'll catch something.

OP
I’m not sure if my salary from my job can actually support me buying a camera… the recent move really drained a huge chunk of my savings.

The long limbs description reminds me of the "old hag" or "shadow people" folklore. Some believe they're real entities. Stay safe OP.

OP
Update after a week: First of all, thanks everyone for the concern lately — I’m still alive lol…
I basically didn’t sleep at all for almost a full day and night before. I swear when I got out of bed, I just blacked out and collapsed on the floor. But when I woke up, I was back in my bed?? That honestly freaked me out a bit. Last night I felt it sit on the edge of my bed. I couldn't move, but I could feel the mattress depress. It stayed there for what felt like an hour. I'm exhausted. Might see a doctor.

The mattress depression is a new detail. That's beyond typical hallucinations. Please keep us posted.

OP, there’s no one else staying at your place, right? Because from your description, it honestly sounds like someone is there… OP, maybe you should just move already. OP hasn't posted in 5 days. Anyone heard from them? This thread is giving me anxiety.

This is either a troll or something terrible is happening. The typing is like someone who can't use their hands properly...

"Long fingers" — OP mentioned that about the entity. This is getting too creepy. Someone should check on them. I’m kinda worried about OP… do you think we should call the cops?

Probably a hoax for attention. But if it's real... damn.

OP
Final update: It was just a black cat! LOL I feel so stupid. A stray black cat somehow got into my apartment weeks ago and has been hiding. The "long fingers" were its paws stretching out. The TV turning on? It stepped on the remote. The weight on the bed? It jumps up at night. Case closed! Sorry for the scare everyone 😅 Blame my over-sensitive nerves lol, please don’t call the cops, everyone.

A cat? That explains everything! Cats are masters of creepiness. Glad you're safe, OP.

Wait, but you said you felt fingers wrapping around your arm. Cats don't wrap their limbs like that. And the broken typing? How does a cat explain that?

Good point. Also, the TV turning on by itself — unless the cat sat on the remote in a very specific way. And the weird posts? OP, can you explain those?

OP hasn't replied to the skeptical comments. That's suspicious.
